i love how unabashedly weird and cute the pipe-eye albums are. private little holiday is my favourite!
This is a nice little song, probably about what you said it was about. After hearing the first Pipe-eye EP and album, I have come to the conclusion that this song isn't really my favorite of his, but it's still great. Private Little Holiday, At The Garden Gate and How Can I Thank You Enough? are probably my favorites right now.
I'll be hearing the album this is from in about 3 weeks thanks to the schedule I have for myself of one Animal Collective album every other week, and one Gizz members other project in the non-Animal Collective weeks, with other albums inbetween if I have time. Speaking of Animal Collective, I've really come around on them. Leaf House and The Purple Bottle are some of my favorite songs of theirs. Not similar to anything Gizz related at all, but good nonetheless.
Ive been meaning to listen to more pipeeye myself. I love cookies quirkiness, and how he brings that influence to gizzard
Ive honestly slept on pipe-eye, cookie has this funky little weird vibe going on and i love it! also be sure to check out Summa by Heavy Moss, its Lucas' other band, he plays bass for gizz btw.
You should definitly do the full LP "Laugh About Life" it also has Cavs doing drums for the whole thing
