Thanks for the Video! I have to repair a GSE110 that way. That module for the Mercedes C220 W204 is nowhere to be found and my colleague does fear the next winter...(in the last one he had to use VPower Diesel instead of regular Diesel, to get the car running at all)... For BMW you can get these modules nearly on every corner for sub 60€, but the Mercedes ones are not available new. Or for ridiculous prices of 200€ used to over 1200€ new... Crazy times...
I had the same relay problem (4cyl bmw e91), bought new relay at bargain price and changed it at friend's garage. Now im gonna repair the old, broken one and save it for further problems :D I think its the same problem with positive voltage terminal, cuz when i measure diode forward voltage, there's no read to any pin, so the common + must be broken like in ur vid :D thanks!
Gr8 music! My car M57n2 e61 has 6 glow plug faults and no other faults, whether this module is damaged? The positive cable has a direct connection to the positive cable of the alternator and is not fused. when one of the glow plugs has a short circuit to ground, it will burn out
The diagnostic shows that I have to replace 4 of my 6 cylinders plug ( candles ) !! and the dpf didn’t regenerated !! that could be the problem? the relay glow plug system??
You have to check the glow plugs first ! The car does not regenerate with burned glow plugs. If the glow plugs are good , change or repair the relay. The tis buletin for bmw specify that if one glow is defective you have to chenge all glow plugs and the control unit.
On my E90 330D I have 6 aluminium wires going to 3 points on the PCB (two wires are soldered to each contact on the PCB) does it not matter if you use 1 copper wire across two of the solder points on the back of the power connection? on the rear of my power connection there are 6 solder points so I'm wondering if I can solder 1 copper wire across the first two to the first points on the PCB then the next two to the second point on the PCB etc.. also, it's so hard to get the solder to adhere to any of those points on the PCB or the rear of the connection.
MrSweetE90 if you have two wires on a sigle pad and another two on the other you can use one and one. You have to heat the entire unit to solder properly and clean the pads until you see copper.
@@amperugarage - Hi Mate, thanks for the reply! so, I've uploaded a picture to show the glow plug controller connections which can be seen here: imgur.com/gallery/vrOg8Ap I had no idea there was copper below the pads, I did scrape with a knife to get the silver plate shiny but the solder never adheres to it, even turning the soldering iron up to 400 it done nothing and at that temperature it prevented tinning the soldering iron. also, the back of the connection itself. you can see there are 6 individual slits, if I grind them down will that also expose copper as I've had no luck soldering my tinned wire to any of those silver bits either? thanks!
the controller it self is extremely bad designed i can repair it for 3 USD but it will be broken again and again as the problem is in the design of the controller it self by mercedes engineers
Yes at last a proper repairer!! Nice job I’m going to follow suit as my plugs are not activating
This is happening becouse of high amps and to thin wires in the relay box. I would call it manufacturing fault
I would call it "intention".
Nobody wants your car to last for 20 years without any repairs.
Thanks for the Video!

Why did you cut it open, when there are clips holding that plate in?

what is the cross section of the wire
I need help with free lander 2011 glow plug module not heading plugs
Good work man, please tell me how thick the wires should be.
Use your eyes and try to get closer to the original thickness, use copper.
thanks your video.. i am successful.. save money.. ^_^/ (hyundai veracruz )
what you use to replaceing bad wires???

Was this module from a 4 cylinder?
please can you tell me, how its conected the 2 black diode. thanks

what were the symptoms you were getting? also did you have a check engine light?
+Slengo Slengaw check engine on , no dpf regeneration..
Amp Channel How does the dpf have anything to do with the relay?
+Slengo Slengaw on e60 for example.. when the relay is deffective the dpf regeneration won't run.
Amp Channel i thought the relay was only for glow plugs. in that case what are the functions of the glow plug relay?
