Most games make you choose only 2 of the following: 4K / 60fps / raytracing. If the pro could allow for all 3 at the same time that would be great.
I could see a big update to Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk to showcase RT capabilities of the Pro.
I was going to say the same things having played CP2077 over GeForce now with all the RT bells and whistles it would be a big graphical win for Sony

Just went through the Final Fantasy 16 DLC on performance mode. And man, if there's one game I'd like to see running on the Pro, it's that one.

Yeah I hope they recapture the PS4 Pro/Xbox One X energy an deliver some great footage and experiences when the PS5 Pro gets announced. Pretty much all of their studios are working on at least one game and some are even making two. Theres no way in my mind they're stupid enough to not have a lot of games to market with the new hardware, so much easy upgrades come to mind including Returnal, Avatar, sackboy, GT7 etc that could really use it. I'm both interested in the Ray Tracing and AI/upscaling Prowess but only if the upgrades are tangibily greater than RDNA3, PSSR should be dope if their pass work on checkboard upscaling and different TAA across different first party games is anything to go by. As I've always have, shout out to that Checkerboarding era. there were some great results on that limited hardware, some not so great aswell but overall not anywhere close to FSR2 bad from memory.
4k at 60fps is enough especially for games that are currently 30fps in fidelity mode
1440p at 69fps will be enough for more gamers. I hope it can as I won't have to buy a PC.

I actually believe that the ps4 pro will be hard to find because of gta 6. Now that the series x/s and ps5 have been out a while. People could just buy used consoles to play gta 6. But it's not as exciting as getting the best experience.
I believe that all consoles will sell out near the release of gta 6. When gta 5 came out it was near the end of the generation and most people had a current gen console at that point.
I would not buy a PS5 Pro at $600 it would have to be $500 and even then I’ll only buy it if I can sell my PS5 for half the cost at minimum.

i feel like i'm the usual prime target for a pro console, but i still see no reason to upgrade. at this point, i feel like playstation will continue to be a primarily cross-gen machine until PS6. since most devs aren't leveraging the hardware in exciting ways anyway and most games will still be PS4 games, what will even more processing power even do?
processor-wise, I agree.. it will not offer any mindblowing upgrade.
However, incremental upgrades that somehow shows the true 4k 90-120fps like they initially advertise in their box might count as a superior upgrade to many console user.
Other than that, you can expect the feature is just as comparable as all of their PC Release trailer for their old exclusives.

Nobody wants to make exclusive features for a single platform, the lowest common denominator will still always be Xbox Series S in this generation.
In the best case scenario they can make enhanced versions for PS5 Pro and PC but that would alienate the Xbox crowd still.
Sony owned studios will probably be forced to do it but it's not worth upgrading for a handful of games when the PS5 experience will still be good.

I don't think the Pro's going to sell as well as the PS4 Pro did. People expect more (and were promised more) out of their PS5s. Many had to wait 2 years to finally be able to buy one. Instead of releasing a Pro model they should be optimizing their games better and churning out exclusives more frequently.
in terms of first party, almost every game has 30/40/60/120 so they have actually done a good job of getting the promised performance on most titles. it is really the third party games that have been struggling
Yeah but pro won't hurt the base ps5. Yeah Sony needs to stop with the layoffs and make smaller budget games and give more time to developers like it used to be. And we should be patient too cause these games take years to make. Also Sony needs to stop focusing PC ports .

tbf at least the PS4 Pro had VR as a reason to justify it, and they did have some nice patches for existing games. for me the PS5 Pro is a super tough sell because VR2 is stagnant and we've barely seen the standard PS5 pushed to its limits yet.

My thoughts exactly. The only reason I ended up with a PS4 Pro was because my day 1 PS4 was starting to fail. There wasn't a big price difference between the Pro and a Slim 1TB. I'm not interested in PS5 Pro

Wow crazy to see so many click PS5 Pro videos just to talk down on it. Sure you're either just a troll, or someone who is going to trash it and buy it anyway, or just here because you're bored and click things just to poop on them (troll). Not to you specifically, but yeah to answer your question these are refresh consoles, not new consoles so I wouldn't expect a new game to launch with it either. I actually really enjoyed the PS4 Pro which was at a time where basically so many were getting 4k LCD TVs and it really pushed the pixel rates higher. Obviously it was a refresh focused on pixel pushing and not a new console all together, as it wasn't meant to be. I thought there was some beautiful games visually that came with the 4.20 tflops vs the 1.83. CPU was still a Jaguar, so no improvements to physics or over all frame rate for the most part due to only a 500Mhz jump on a Jaguar CPU that is still a Jaguar. Some games didn't look the greatest (AC Syndicate), but I played Horizon Zero Dawn I think on the PS4 Pro and the implementation of checkerboard rendering was amazing and better than anything I ever seen from FSR (even though FSR gets so much praise because its peoples choice AMD, for the people by the people, blah blah).
I'm still excited for the PS5 Pro and I will probably get it at some point. I did upgrade from PS5 to a 4090 PC, and even running old games like AC Valhalla, or even Warframe which is kind of shocking, you really do see the compromises that have to be made to get a lot of these games running and hitting certain targets. Metro Exodus on 4090 made the PS5 edition look like PS4, and you'll never see this on UA-cam comparisons for some wierd reason that I can't tell if its intentional or not, but there's really a huge gap in not just frame rate but compromise on the current consoles that go beyond simple reported dynamic resolutions. If the PS5 Pro can bring out more of the actual game without compromise (that no one would know unless they knew better), I think its actually pretty exciting. Looking forward to the PS5 Pro.
What is the point in a Ps5 pro? There are hardly any games out even now that require the power of the PS5. This has probably been the worst console generation of all time. Half of the next gen only games are final fantasy games so if you are not a fan of those what is the reason to buy a ps5? Nintendo as always saw the writing on the wall a while ago, ever increasing graphical power for the sake of it leads to less games because they cost an extreme amount to make and then the ones you do get are all derivative and identical to one another with a different skin on top.
What game will make a huge difference with Hellblade 2 or Fable or Flight Simulator or Forza Horizon 5 that run beautifully on a simple Xbox Series X. I can't wait to see that.
With PS4 Pro they had VR as an argument, such that the frame rate for VR games are higher.
Since VR games and PSVR2 are more niche again, this is also not a strong argument for a PS5 Pro
Not sure if you mentioned it guys but GTA VI on PS5 Pro is the killer app, no contest. Will probably be the best experience of the most awaited franchise, on console.

Agree with the BB remaster sentiment, hard No on the “new dlc”. There is no way in Yharnam either FromSoft or Sony would make one. The dlc that exists is perfect and every single piece of lore on that game is neatly wrapped up. Any new dlc would feel tacked on and superfluous.

The State Of Play didn't have a lot of games in the action-adventure-narrative genre and I think that's because they want to show all of that during the presentation of the PS5 Pro and give more weight to this presentation with what they can do best.

Days Gone was a stunning game, one of my all time favorites. Any time I seen one of those hordes, I would rethink my life on how I should go forward if at all anymore. Amazing game and I usually hate zombie games, really sad if I never see a Days Gone 2. I'm a video game veteran too, so many hours, and Days Gone is up there with the best of them. The emotional immersion, the running, the Oh sh*t oh sh*t moments. Glad some of DF got to experience it since most did not and everything about it, story implementation, graphics, pacing, variable change, diverse open world, character design.. all A to A+ level in my opinion.
Call me crazy but Uncharted 1-3 + Golden Abyss actually deserve a remake and it would be the perfect opportunity for sony to launch the PS5 PRO

The ps5 has been a literal ps4 pro plus since launch and despite this, Sony didn't invest in 60fps updates for ps4 / ps4 pro games. Now they want to make a ps4 pro plus 2 with almost 95% of Sony's game library still at 30 fps? You'll have to be daft to pick up this Console with your hard earned money.
I'm personally hoping for FF7 Rebirth patched Pro mode, curious to see what they could do with GT7 too if they could add ray tracing to game play. GTA6 is the biggest though.

@joshuatealeaves yeah i was constantly switching between the 2 modes and couldn't make up my mind as they are both flawed on this particular game. Performance looks too blurry, fidelity the FPS is too low for my liking on a fast paced combat game like this. It would've been saved on base PS5 if it had a VRR mode but strangely it doesn't. So I'm hanging on for a PS5 Pro patched mode to give us something better.

I don't know how I feel about Sony now mostly revealing games just months before release.
If PS5 Pro has a Bloodborne remake, I'll buy ten of them on launch day. Otherwise, I'll probably stick to waiting for the games to come out on PC (and playing something else if they don't). Nothing has compelled me to get either current-gen console so far.

Horizon Zero Dawn did not get a remake it just got the free 4k/60 fps patch like 155 othe ps4 games also had so far for the ps5 .

Rich the PS4 Pro GPU was weaker than a RX 470. The Xbox One X was like a RX 480.
Owning a PS5 and having recently got a brand new high-end PC, I'm not sure I'll go for a Pro or not. Question is if it's coming at all though?

Here they say $600 is too much. I assume this is before Microsoft announced the 600 Series X. In comparison, the Pro would be a steal.
My problem is they hyped the power of the PS5 and XBSX up as though of course they would easily run games like the next gta. If a Pro ever comes out don't buy it. Sony should release more games and optimize for the standard model. Stop mid-gen!

I don’t need a ps5 pro. What I need is for PS to let me play the games natively at 1080p or 1440p. Having to compute for 4K and the downscale it is such a waste of resources, and yeah, I don’t care for 4K
Crazy people who were expecting new AAA games playing at 4k on a machine that cost only $500. LOL
4K/60 on older Ps4 games with the patch was lucky to happen .

I own a decent PC, PS5 and SX...... There are and have been some decent games, but at this point, if someone was short on cash and desperate for a current gen console, i would have too say don't.
Yes, there has been a few great games.... But some people are struggling money wise, and i would say the CURRENT gen consoles are a luxury, not an absolute must.
So this PS5 Pro crap... WHY!? There is hardly anything outstanding on the current PS5, let alone the cost of a Pro that will probably be between £480 and £550, and you are talking a decent budget 1080p PC build, with all the games on GOG and Steam at that price.
And anyone that genuinely believes that the Pro will come out and all of a sudden Sony will say ''Surprise!'' And drop 5 PS5 Pro single player banger's..... You are living in dream world, and there are a few of you out there.
PS5 have LOST their way with this generation, compared to the PS4 and PS3 era, what they need is fantastic game after fantastic game, like they used too be.
All it is lately is
Oh, another remaster, oh and another remaster, oh and a remake.
Or
Oh look, overpriced PSVR2 with no games, oh look, a totally pointless over priced Portal..... Or another revision of the PS5.
If that isn't it... They release another crappy games as a service title.
This isn't Playstation!
And now, an over priced Pro, that is absolutely not needed..... with absolutely NOTHING to play on it, yet you fan boys are acting like it's the saviour of gaming, and in another 3 or 4 years, there will be the PS6!?

The pro only got a GPU upgrade it has the same CPU .
At least the Ps4 Pro had both upgraded .
The Ps4 pro was not jaw dropping improvement over the Ps4 basic in playing ps4 games
I see a MASSIVE update for GT7 and PSVR 2! If not HL ALyx! Obviously EVERY Sony game that hasnt been announced yet is PS5 Pro! GTA 6 is an obvious one that we've been saying is being aligned with Pro........ Oh and Black Myth Wukong should be preparing for the Pro as well if Sony has been in touch
