I think people who are depressed and down over this dark planet there is hope. Together we can turn it around. You are not alone. Evil can be stopped and love to rule, but we need to do it together. Join social movements and help fight against the human virus of evil.
It's strange, because while I was listening to this song, I was pondering the exact same thing you wrote here. Living with severe chronic illness, complements of the dark forces/bio weapons used on humanity, I feel the oppression every day. I've been telling everyone for years.. the world's masses have got to unify, come together as one unit to destroy evil! 💕 Love & peace sounds nice, but it might have to get real, as in brutal in order ☠️💀 to seriously ever change anything!
Join social movements and fight against capitalism you meant. Because our production model is killing us, is killing the planet, and will drive us to extinction
This song just pulled me out of a VERY dark place (Not quite suicide but same despair). Got the meet and Greet for them in Portland, OR and was able to personally thank the band for this. Just an amazing band, amazing group of awesome people. I'm VERY thankful for the experience. I look forward to meeting more people to sing with
I dare you to say this is bad.... the whole song is wonderful, the keyboard solo.... and the chorus is so emotional that I can't stop singing "La la la laaaa- lala lala la-la-la!"! LOVE SONATA ARCTICA THEY NEVER DISAPPOINT ME!!!
If you have a Sonata Arctica tattoo it means that even if they will make a poop song you have to find the things you like... and this is absolutely NOT a poop song... so you're not a true fan...
Saying you have to find something in every song to like, or else your not a true fan, is kind of a silly thing to say. Sonata Arctica has disappointed me for an entire decade now. My tattoo is kinda like getting a name of a dead relative tattooed at this point. A reminder of something that I once loved, but is now lost to me.
I don't know if you listened to “Pariah's Child”, but I think it had the best songwriting and production since “Reckoning Night”. If you didn't like it, I'd encourage you to check it out again.

This might grow on me. Don't get me wrong Sonata, you'll never be in my top 3 ever again, cause those places have been taken and secured, but you were my #1 once, and I'll keep you for the memories.
This song definitely comes from The Days of Grays. At least the instrumental parts, the sing of Tony is more Pariah's Child sounds like, but Life is far better than Closer to An Animal, now I really can't wait to listen the whole album.
Definitely! The folk melody at the beginning of the song and the progression of the notes reminds me of No Dream Can Heal a Broken Heart, my favorite song from Sonata Arctica.
I don't think "life is better alive" is cheesy or dumb at all. So many go through life on autopilot, or living lives they absolutely hate, or feel totally apathetic about. I want to live my life feeling AWAKE and ALIVE. I love it. Reminiscent of old Sonata, which I miss.
Thing is... I live in southern California and I believe SA's first concert over here was around January 2006, so it took them awhile to get over here. I'm pretty sure I would have been a fan of theirs by 2000 if we got their music at that time. My first time seeing them was in February "For the Sake of Revenge" tour. They had Jani at the show in Santa Ana at the Galaxy and it blew my mind.
Ya'll I'm 50 yes 50, this holds its own against /with my 80's power metal bands and I'm a Nightwish junkie. Times, technology change and music is produced frickin bad ass these days whew
Sonata Arctica is the biggest Musical yourney i ever had. From eclyptica to now. Maybe its time no leave our signet ring on the ashes. Forget our broken hearts and enjoy life with the one's who are left. Finally face the important Things in our time.
+RigoStar Yes but this song is different, sounds like a mix of winterhearts guild and the days of grays. My favourite song that Tony has made in the last 2 albums
well now that is quite an overstatement isn't it... back? they can barely make one song per album. Take this song or "The Wolves Die Young" or "Cloud Factory", put them on any of their past great albums (Ecliptica, Silence, Winterheart's Guild, Reckoning Night, Unia) they will fall behind as average songs on them, and these are their "good" songs now! To say they are back is just wrong when they can barely compose a song per album. As someone already stated, they sound boring and uninspired, almost like forcing the songs. What is going on with them? I have no fucking idea, maybe they have other projects, I don't know.
You can quibble about the sound or the mix or whether this is as good as some previous album, but one thing is for sure: this band makes uplifting, powerful, inspiring progressive metal music that is good for the soul. Go see them in concert and experience the magic. I saw the Piriah's Child show 4 times in 18 months and never got tired of it. This wonderful album is more of the same and "Life" is an anthem for finding hope in our increasingly troubled world. Long live Sonata Arctica!
I was pretty intrigued by Closer To An Animal, but this one totally sold me. I officially have very high hopes for this album to be the best thing they've recorded since Unia.
Whitney Fischer Oh shoot i hope i didnt ruin it for you :c It does sound like a happier song in general though. I actually had an small debate with a friend whether or not if it was about it. but songs mean different things to people, so its still up for debate
Definitely feeling a more progressive edge to these new songs so far. Like One Hour By The Concrete Lake-era Pain Of Salvation. VERY excited about this album so far!
I... Can't...Stop...Listening. On repeat. Over and over. Purchased it on itunes and between UA-cam and iTunes I just can't get enough I absolutely love this.
"Just one Life Sing with the feeling Turn back time Make all your stars align" Okay, this part hit me hard. I don't think I have cried to a song in a damn good while.
Huge fan of their first five albums. Wasn't a big fan of Last Days Of Grays/SGHN but their last and this one have brought me back. This is like Unia II.
I like the new style of Sonata Arctica. The one thing I really like of this change is that I can come back to their older music and never get tired of it and then listen to their newer stuff and it doesn't feel like the same old thing. It really suits my mood whenever I'm feeling more calm or energetic. This new style feels a little romantic and more mature, like myself, who grows up along with the band. One thing is that many people don't like this new change but I've seen them in concert and I am again this year. They do not block out their old content. They've played a lot of their old songs last time I saw them (MANY of my favorite tracks, and not only Pariah's Child) They even did the anniversary album which was very awesome! I think they're just exploring themselves which is completely okay with me.
+Joel Rdz yeah, I downloaded Ecliptica and it's great! (I like fast paced stuff but mid paced stuff is alright too) I'll probably download some of their other albums. I've heard they've gone downhill recently.
You'll need a few listens to like this. It's grown on me. I love the lyrics and la la la la la la la part. Edit: I absolutely love the album. Including White Pearl Black Oceans Part 2
I'd really like to sit down and have a beer with Kakko to hear the story about the Days of Grays to this upcoming album. The theme has changed so much, from total darkness to this cheerier "life is great" type of thing. I bet it would make an interesting story. Great song.

I think he means , life is better when you're out enjoying every moment and embracing nature and love while we only have this short time line. "life is better alive" when you're inside on your computer all day, video games, watching TV , at work in a meeting or even sleeping all day, you aren't really alive , that time is going by so fast you'll lose every moment.

Lalala lalalala lalalala 🎵🎶
I got through a very tough time in my life thanks to this song! It remains my favorite of their songs!
@@IainNitro
I hope your doing much better and life is good to you. Cheers, mate. You got this!
The Perfect Song of the world welcome back Sonata Arctica and life
Power metal doesn't need to be fast, this is a good example
Yes, but it needs to be metal, nonetheless.
There’s no power or metal in this though.
Ludvig Nilsson I’m not sure how to describe it. Rock with a progressive and emo twist.
Ludvig Nilsson Sure.
This is not metal
I dare you to say this is bad.... the whole song is wonderful, the keyboard solo.... and the chorus is so emotional that I can't stop singing "La la la laaaa- lala lala la-la-la!"! LOVE SONATA ARCTICA THEY NEVER DISAPPOINT ME!!!
It is pretty uninspired.
This song is BORING as fuck
This is really bad, I have a Sonata Arctica tattoo, this song makes me want to get a coverup, its that b ad.
Unimaginably wonderful... Lalala lalalala lalalala !!!!!!!
I gotta say, this might bring me back to listening to sonata
I don't know if you listened to “Pariah's Child”, but I think it had the best songwriting and production since “Reckoning Night”. If you didn't like it, I'd encourage you to check it out again.
I have.... sadly
Félix Marqués I agree. PC was their best since Unia for me.
There are 3 other songs off of The Ninth Gate I think you would like
Its the Ninth Hour.
Your life isn't illusion
Time is a eager delusion
A cage is a creation
Of someone's imagination
If life makes you glow
Then glow like a star
Build a night
Ignore the day
On the sky leaving the clouds
To defy gravity
Sign an aberration
Your low down to damnation
When the rest is an illustration
Predicts the tribulation
Could the keys give you hope
To live in a dream
Let the music grow
When your eyes close from the vast plotting of stars
Sing one life
Wait for the punch line
Notes are blind
But they know when you sing and smile
Life is better alive
It is a dumb thing to say
But the fact won't wane away
Sing with someone today
When your team makes a game winning goal
Get ready to sing
Lalala lalalala lalalala
With a friend who is right beside you
Lalala lalalala lalalala
With a friends beside you
Time...
Every light on the blue sky
The night will beautify
Time...
Cast coins in a waterfall
Two coins, one for each eye
Time...
The icy tingle of empty vapor on your hand
Time...
The tiny cracks in the ground
For a canyon that needs command
Just one life
Sing with the feeling
Turn back time
Make all your stars align
The only thing that we need
Is the vanity of happiness
With friends align
They sing in the key of
Life
Life is better alive
It is a dumb thing to say
But the fact won't wane away
Smile at someone today
If the wall smiles back
You're alive and ready to sing
Life is better alive
It is a dumb thing to say
But the fact won't wane away
Sing with someone today
When your team makes a game winning goal
Get ready to sing
Lalala lalalala lalalala
With a friend who is right beside you
Lalala lalalala lalalala
With a friend beside you
Yeah!
It is a dumb thing to say
But the fact won't wane away
Life is better alive
When your team makes a game winning goal
Get ready to sing
Lalala lalalala lalalala
It is a dumb thing to say
But the life is better alive
Lalala lalalala lalalala
Life is better alive
Lalala lalalala lalalala
Life is better alive
Sonata Arctica is by far the band that own the most beautiful artwork...
This might grow on me. Don't get me wrong Sonata, you'll never be in my top 3 ever again, cause those places have been taken and secured, but you were my #1 once, and I'll keep you for the memories.
This song aged so well for me, I love the feeling, music and message. And the second verse at 2:04 is just so perfect. Thanks for this Tony
Love this verse too 🥰

A great music video of sonata arctica after a loong time.
Best song they've released in ages.
This song definitely comes from The Days of Grays. At least the instrumental parts, the sing of Tony is more Pariah's Child sounds like, but Life is far better than Closer to An Animal, now I really can't wait to listen the whole album.
The riff reminds me a bit of "No Dream can heal a broken Heart". ;)
Definitely! The folk melody at the beginning of the song and the progression of the notes reminds me of No Dream Can Heal a Broken Heart, my favorite song from Sonata Arctica.
me too, cant wait ;D
Not better than Closer to an Animal, just different
+Renan Colombini this is much better than closer to an animal
I don't think "life is better alive" is cheesy or dumb at all. So many go through life on autopilot, or living lives they absolutely hate, or feel totally apathetic about. I want to live my life feeling AWAKE and ALIVE. I love it. Reminiscent of old Sonata, which I miss.
My favorite Band since I heard for the first time!!
A fan since late 2004 and I love this song.
PrinceMarcus William me too, i became a fan in 2006 though, but still, i was only 7 years old. Sonata is not the same as it was,

Since 2005 or 2006 here
Same for me, first record I bought was the 'don't say a word'-ep
Sonata is evolving all the time. Get over it.
I swear Sonata Arctica is the most majetic band i have ever listened to ! i'm 100 % sure that their music comes from heaven !
Sound really nice!! ^^
I'm anxious to hear the rest!
What I heard, the rest is more Power Metal. ;)

very good song considering that I've never heard of them until now
Check their album called Silence.
Sonata Arctica: Fullmoon, Replica, Kingodom for a Heart
Same. Definitely a serious kickass band
This is like saying ''Metallica = Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters, Cyanide''
Antoine Querry Could we enjoy our new discovery without being almost harrassed by some sort of elitist fan ? This is a new band for me, man.

Amazing 🤘🏻
This is the most "Sonata" sounding song I've heard since The Days of Grays, I love it!!!! thank you so much for restoring my faith in you guys!
“Pariah's Child” truly felt like a comeback to me. Not one bad song. But it needs a bit of time and patience.

listened the whole new album a few times, and I love this track more and more
okay, you got me again. Another SA album for my collection :)
Now more symphonic metal than power metal, so what? This is just beautiful! Love it.
Drums sound like a 80's rythm box... lifeless mix, good song
I love when they do happy songs, reminds me of Victoria's Secret. I'll definitely be belting this one out in my car!
I could be wrong but isnt Victoria's Secret about suicide or am i interpreting it wrong?

The one thing I really like of this change is that I can come back to their older music and never get tired of it and then listen to their newer stuff and it doesn't feel like the same old thing. It really suits my mood whenever I'm feeling more calm or energetic. This new style feels a little romantic and more mature, like myself, who grows up along with the band. "Life is better alive" is cheesy as heck, but quite enjoying this song

It's not cheesy. For me, it's like a quote to think about :) I've seen cheesier power metal (ehm...Twilight Force...ehm)
Do you think? Larger than life from the last output was great..
And Unia has awesome lyrics, nothing cheesy there (Ecliptica WAS cheesy indeed*g*). ;)
Twilight Force are meant to be cheesy. Like Power Metal is supposed to be.
