Not all hippies were far-gone wild. I met some who were pretty mild mannered and really wanted to do things to make the world a better place. The ones I knew used nothing stronger than marijuana and some didn't even use that. Mostly they were into herbal medicine. Many were polite and tried to help people in trouble. But they were rebellious with the way they looked and expressed themselves, and often didn't want to be tied down to full-time jobs.
