Thank you so much!! On my 2018 civic, the automatic transmission shifter knob has two screws a bit hidden on the front of the shifter where you can’t see. Turn your ignition to two to move the shifter back so you can get a screwdriver in there. the clips to remove the panel are more toward the central panel closest to the shifter, rather than the sides of the larger one. Just some help to anyone with an automatic. Thank you!
I work for Honda and I had to use this video as a reference since our service manuals suck. No where on our service manual does it say to remove the climate control to access the hidden screws. Our service manual also stated to start with the power outlets in the front without removing all the other stuff first. It made no sense whatsoever.
I realize this video is a year old but hope you (or someone) can answer this… My 12v power outlet stopped working - It’s not the fuse so I’m looking to replace it with a new 12v. Do I have to remove ALL that first before I can remove the usb/power outlet panel??
At 25 seconds in I can see a little black cap or plug inside the center console. You never go near it. What is it for? I can remove it from my civic but I dont know what the hole is for. I cant tell if its access to a screw or to run cables through.
How do I install an aftermarket shift knob on my civic without the white clip from the original knob? It looks like I need that piece for the boot to stick.
Hey i have a question, I was trying to change my shifter knob and i accidently dropped a screwninside the hole and i cant see it , but i feel it moving from time to time. Is this dangerous to leave inside or not? Should i take it out right away?
When will you guys post a video of replacing a handbrake boot and replacing handbrake e brake handle on 9th gen civic sedan? It would be so much appreciated if video will be posted
My 17 honda civic 6 speed manual shift knob sudden locked up on me while driving and i don't know why it got stuck and i pulled over and stopped and then i could shift to reverse and gets stuck in neutral and can't go to other gears and im worrying about this and i managed to make it move again. And was driving on the freeway and kinda push the knob to make it go in and now it drives ok and i don't know if its the cables or bushings inside the shift console.
Can I just remove the side panels like that inside of the whole thing I need to get to the ecu module so I can take it out and send it to srs and get it reset from the crash data it has at the moment
so i recently did this and now my map lights wont turn on any fixes? or idea why they wont? (i replaced the bulbs like a month or two ago and the dome light in the back and the sun mirror shade lights wont turn on as well
The only video that perfectly shows how to take out the power outlet console. Excellent job mate.

I watch a lot of "how to videos" on you tube for various projects. This is by far one of the best I've seen.. Great detail and pointers. Thanks.

Worked perfectly. Except I broke the 1st clip on the passenger side panel. Can't really tell once it was put back together.
I was hoping you guys were at the I Heart Honda Festival in Fontana this past weekend. Maybe next time. Thanks for the video! -- sincerly, R-25210
The shift knob release is different for automatic transmissions. But overall. Great video

So is the center console (armrest) usb. Is that usb replaceable and separate from the wire harness itself?
