John Sparks is one of the best writer performers we have ever had, I love Shadwell and Burt but it's all great All of them were really talented in this show
Loved Naked Video and Shadwell. Brilliantly funny character. Haven't laughed so much for years seeing this again. Great humour and makes you feel good to be Welsh lol!
they were just called Lumberjack Jackets............my mate picked up a Chinese & had it under his to keep warm......the sweet & sour sauce burst open & covered the lining. He put it on the tank in the airing cupboard over night to dry out. In the morning there was a lovely smell of S&S wafting about.....he took his jacket off the tank & the lining stayed stuck to it...............not much of a story but hey ho haha
I came looking for ideas - having a party, I vaguely remember Shadwell organising a get together and apart from putting some newspapers out for people to read, most of the advice has slipped my mind....
You are correct, although the character of Siadwel also appeared, albeit less frequently, in the other Scottish sketch show of the time 'Absolutely'. John Sparkes spent a lot of time on the Scottish comedy circuit in the 80's.
The afraid of the floor is the one I remember from when this was on tv, absolute genius.

Oh Brilliant - I began to think that he was a feature of my imagination as no-one seems to remember him (I'm 56)
Favourite quote...All my friends keep telling me,Shadwell go for it..
I went for it....
It had gone.
I haven't seen Shadwell in years. The sketch I remember was when they had a guinea pig for Christmas - brilliant cos you got a leg each!
He's not real
Brilliant comedian. went to see him live some years ago at the theatre Hafren in Newport. a great night.
One of our best comedians
loved Shadwell thank you.
Love this character so much, I remember the original series, always reminds me of my wife's cousin Adrian from Rhymney valley!
I loved Siadwell. Always thought he was Franky Boyle.
Took him in to the tune of green sleeves 🤣
"It's not the height that kills you, it's the floor that does that."
Probably the most profound statement ever said.
cant thank you enough for uploading ... but all the same ... thank you soooooooooo much
Still love these

Should have been a series in his own right.
He now narrates Peppa Pig.
Mr Willy ice cream LMOA! Wouldn't be allowed nowadays
John sparks now there’s a bright spark of ideas remember those jackets you had to have
Now the psychiatrist is seeing a psychiatrist - brilliant !
A big influence on Graham Coxon. ;)
Hahaha, yep, I see it :P
Use to listen to Siadwell in the '80's. Unique humour, but then why does every school have one?

There's Luv-Lee
I can only find 5 Chadwellians are there any more online?
Bloody Gold ! 😄😄😄😄
I remember:- Gravel said to me "Shadwell, go for it", so I went for it and there it was........gone. Bring back Shadwell.
I am pretty certain he came back on BBC Radio Wales during the 2010's.
Shadwell sounds like Elvis Cridlington
'There's someone in your life called Shadwell - avoid him, he's dragging you down!' Which episode did that come from?
rofl, thank you for the response, will have a look for one, nice story as well, lol :D
john sparkes was gorgeous in his day lol
I've just been looking at my collection... I got a pen and some paper clips... can't remember the rest of it...
Comb, spoon, couple of biros. Quite a good set, really

Isn't thet the old guy who says "arse" a lot; "clematis stimulation"
what TV series was this? I'm convinced it was "Naked Video"

Owen Smith!!!
It's taken me until now to realise exactly who Smith reminds me of!
Do YOU ride a Rhondda 500?!
@Stratoszero It is he.
anyone help me out with the style of coat he's wearing? i suddenly feel the urge to buy one :D
It was from C&A, circa 1979. I think it's meant to be lumberjack style. I know because I had one, with same D rings on the collar. LOL
Talented and missing,..... why ?
Fathered Edward
He's back doing the character on Radio Wales on Saturdays.
