“Resolution “ intelligently and musically played! What mouthpiece do you play?
I am a clarinetist, play baritone sax and a little flute.
    Best Wishes,
    Richard

Any formidable jazz players can answer my question? What do you do when every note you play doesn’t sound sincere to you. Sounds fake. ??

Engage your imagination. Accept the vulnerability of improvisation. Practice in private, where no one can hear you. Sing a song, full on, give it everything. Beat box and engage with the song as it plays in your mind. Keep the song form 'playing' in your mind. Hum or sing simple, beautiful voiceleading through the changes (roots, 3rd and 7ths etc)
Then grab your instrument and try staying in that space and doing the same. Ideally, even when you play something on your instrument that is beyond your vocal ability, it will at least be coming from the same intentional place as singing your heart out.
