Br. Peter Mourik was my bishop for a little while, when he lived here in Texas. I didn't know it at the time, but he helped me prepare for being bishop a few years later. I miss him very much and if I could talk to him again, it would be great. What an amazing true son of God!
My biggest advice is to read the Book of Mormon every day. Even being a member my whole life, I’ve noticed the difference when I read and when I don’t. The blessings come!
Jim Caponzi You need to calm down why do you care so much about what someone else believes also why are you arguing with a mormon about what mormons believe. And no they do not pray to Joesph Smith
I am 16, I have have been trying to prepare for my blessing for the past four years, the desire was there but not the commitment to do it. The appointment for my blessing is in 2 hours. This video gave me peace and I felt the spirit and I now feel ready. I wanted to express my gratitude. You made a real difference in my life. I love this Gospel and I am so thankful for our heavenly father who loves us.
I actually got my patriachal blessings 2 months ago and it was the most amazing thing ever. My patriarch had a stroke a few weeks before so he couldn't stand up on his own, so he was kinda like holding onto my head and my neck hurt but i didn't mind, lol. The spirit was so strong and from what my patriachal blessings told me, i felt more confident in myself and saw that i had potential in things i never thought i'd had potential in. And i remember it told me something. I cry everytime i read them .
I got mine about a year and a half ago. I had the unique opportunity of having my Grandfather able to give me it, and it really was astonishing how deep it went. I was blessed to have direct answers to my questions and honestly I feel like it couldn’t have been more personal.
The coolest part is having the blessings in your patriarchal blessing come true. It is a surreal experience. Mine has brought so much comfort, and assurance, and motivation to keep moving forward.
Jim Caponzi, I don't call you a Baptist, so please call us by the name of our church, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" we do not worship Satan, Joseph Smith, or our present day prophet. We worship God.
I know that patriarchal blessings are amazing, and as any good Father would do, he is communicating with his children guiding us to fulfill our missions here upon the EARTH!
I liked it when HE said , I have no blessing to give you, it comes from Heavenly Father. This is a humble man who knows where his blessings comes from and its not him.
I am a recent convert (July 2017) and I received my patriarchal blessing this past Sunday. Patriarch Price was so kind and the blessing was amazing. I was so overwhelmed by the presence of the Spirit that I could barely focus on what he said. I am looking forward to receiving my hardcopy in the mail so that I can study and ponder it.
My Dad is a patriarch-emeritus. He was 42 when he finally found the restored gospel through the missionaries! He gave me my patriarchal blessing in my early teens! Patriarchs are so sensitive to the Spirit!
It was suggested I take a copy of my patriarchal blessing to the temple and read it in the celestial room. I tried it and there was some further clarity about the blessing from doing this. I had a long blessing and had missed a couple of things when I read it outside the temple.
I love that this thread has maintained a dignified Spirit about it. A Patriarchal Blessing is sacred and it seems that even opponents of the church would have a hard time bashing this concept. Those who don’t have their blessing are not qualified to oppose and those who have theirs, know it is from God, even if they may not be close to the church. I wish everyone could have this personalized scripture. To me, it is every bit as much scripture as the Bible. I hope my comment doesn’t attract the boo-birds. Stay happy everyone!
I love my blessing. I love my Savior and best friend Jesus Christ. I have come to know for myself that this is the true church of Jesus Christ restored to the earth. Our Heavenly Father loves us and wants us back to Him. Members of the church are not perfect but we always try our best to follow our Savior. :) thank you for this wonderful video
Marisa Yay, we hope this video helped! Have we already heard about your conversion story? If not, we'd love to hear it if you'd like to share:) You can shoot us a DM if that's best.
I’ve been waiting for a long time to get my blessing. I remember when all my friends got there’s and I had a feeling I had to wait. Then my seminary teacher said to probably do research on it, and now that I’ve learned more, and even grown so much I feel so much better about it. I’m gonna get it soon!!!
I'm also a convert and it's the best thing you will ever do. I am newly baptized like December new. I have not received my patriarchal blessing yet. I am actually working on getting my young women's medallion now. I also had my first temple trip on Saturday
Thank you. I will be getting my patriarchal blessing soon, and have been trying to prepare and learn more about it. This was great to watch. Once again, thank you.
Great stuff!!! I had my patriarchal blessing on Saturday and it was the best blessing ever. It's like Heavenly Father hands on your head and you know that it's the patriarchs voice but it's heavenly fathers words. I encourage anyone who has yet to get it, get it!! I'm a covert of 2 years now and my Blessing has confirmed to me that I must serve a mission. I can't wait to serve the church and have Christ's name over my heart.
My brother and sister slipped under the ice too. I had just watched a movie about falling under ice one month earlier. I was able to direct my brother a sister to safety since I knew there was air right under the ice and I found a crack up stream and chopped a hole to get them out.
Brother Mourik performed the marriage and sealing for our daughter and her husband yesterday. It was a very beautiful experience in the new Orem Temple..
I’m going for mine in January 2023 I’m going for my self but more for all animals of the world I’m going to give and do more for them. I have reservations because animals are abused and it’s not fair if god had the power. I’m kinda it’s but my heart is huge I’m banking on god to show me my role in life. Jim Caponzi, Would Jesus want you to call us Demons. And also I've noticed that you like to argue against my religion. "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" is also attacked and bullied, and I can only wonder why...
@@ricardotoro4425 A lot of religion's or simple nice people are attacked and bullied also. Other things make it true....not simply being attacked. Good and bad things/people are equally attacked throughout the world.
With ever increasing faith, I know that my patriarchal blessing it’s remarkable. I let all brothers and sisters that it is my road map along with scriptures! Patriarch Frank Hardy of the North stake of Zion at North Las Vegas Nevada. He may be gone but we will meet each other again.
Fun fact, God basically told me in my pb that my abusive husband ain’t it and I’d be married in the temple to someone else. 11 years later and I’ve been happily married (and sealed) for the past 7 years almost to my awesome eternal companion. Back in 2010/2011 divorce was really frowned upon in the church.
Hi, I'm about 10 months late with my question. I'm trying to understand patriarchal blessings. There was a video I watched last week where the young lady was discussing her battle with anxiety and mental illness. She mentioned that she went for a patriarchal blessing and was told that she also needed to see a doctor as well. The gentleman in this video mentioned a 7 year old with a heart condition. So my initial thought was this was that perhaps it was similar to anointing of the sick in the Catholic church. The story of the man who wants to be a neurosurgeon obviously needed extra encouragement and prayer but was not ill so obviously my understanding is incomplete. What is the difference between a prayer for successful endevors and encouraging people bu reminding them that hard work pays off? Thanks! I hope you see this. Your videos are fun and informative.
@mossad03 - Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I think your the right person because you have had a patriarchal blessing, and it was long enough ago for you to have perspective on how it affected you. From your description I agree, its absolutely dissimilar to Extreme Unction, which in my case at least, was a passive experience as I was unconscious. I'm trying to wrap my head around this. From what you have shared, this blessing was very personalized and accurate over the long term and provided advice on things to come. That's mindblowing. I don't know what to make of that, but I'm really happy for you. What an amazing story! I guess I am also surprised in part because of your clergy structure. Your priesthood is a shared responsibility among the adult men, right? With a different level among the boys and teens. But it's not like everyone goes to seminary, so I assume that most of the religious training goes on within the congregation. And that's part of the mindblowing aspect.... this blessing comes from someone who is older, and obviously learned, but without years of religious education and it being his only occupation? That's incredibly interesting!
I just wanted to add some more information regarding Patriarchal Blessings. A member of the church who desires a roadmap for their life from their Father in Heaven. I suggest that you visit with your Bishop to ask for one. The most important thing to do is to fast and pray For the desire to have one. My patriarchal blessing has been great comfort during my personal trials. So I hope this helps you Christine. 💝
Awesome video. Im confused about the lineage thing though. So in order to be a patriarch, the man has to prove he has a lineage from a certain line AND when YOU get a blessing the patriarch also tells you your lineage?
Meg Rushbrook priesthood lineage is the first line you're talking about and that's just how we show our connection to Christ. It shows who ordained who down the line ultimately connecting back to Christ. This helps you to know that the patriarch's priesthood lineage and authority is of Christ. The other lineage that the patriarch tells you is what house you come from which is your ancestry. Those who do not have Jewish lineage will be adopted into the house of Ephraim or Mannassah (I think I spelled that right) and each house just has different blessings the lord has promised them.
The countless personal experiences I’ve heard all testify to the truthfulness of these blessings and how they can only be inspired by God. I’d be interested to know what makes you feel the way you do.
Anyone notice the goldfish that can’t breathe and has to get air from surface, and well as the bloating in it... explaining why it keeps floating to the top.
Mine was so generic it could apply to anyone. It was not personal in any way, shape or form. I honestly wish I hadn't gotten it cause now my relationship with our "Father" is more strained than ever before. I know many will say "Oh just read into it more, or be faithful the blessings will come" but unfortunately there were no blessings in it. No guidance, no admonitions, no warnings, no goals, no talents, nothing. Absolutely useless. I just wish I knew if its cause of me, the father, or the newbie patriarch I got. Oh well. Happy for those who got something useful, must be nice
Many of our bloodlines are so intermixed that we may be part of many tribes. We are adopted into certain tribes because each tribe has a certain role to play in the latter days. Even if you have the blood of many tribes in you (very likely) you are adopted into the tribe for the calling those of your tribe is meant for you
What does that mean? I've never heard a patriarchal blessibg with something like that mentioned and Chad Daybell is a sketchy person who broke away from the Church, right?
I’m still waiting to see when some of the blessings in mine will be fulfilled? I sometimes think it’s all a joke? Tick tock tick tock tick tock 🧭. But as the scriptures state “this generation seeketh signs and they will have none” and maybe that is where my fault lies? Aloha 🌺
I think you are confusing a Patriarchal Blessing with a Temple Recommend. Even then it isn't as hard a fast a rule as many outsiders seem to think. I kept my recommend even when I was only a partial tithe payer.
in some ways, a patriarchal blessing is a church sanctioned soothsaying or psychic reading. the caveat is that it is more likely to come true if you're faithful. However; most, if not all, of the promises in a blessing are typically going to happen to the average active member of the church. serving a mission, getting married, having children, being a leader, etc. it also helps that members want those promises to come true even if they have to force them happen. don't take this as me saying they are bad. i just prefer to think of them as giving you worthy goals not as prophecies of future events.
That's possible, but it's also possible that the holy ghost is absent. Don't get me wrong, I think they are good. They tell you to do, and want, good things.
I can believe the church is true and understand that not every blessing is guided by the spirit. I don't know if my patriarch gave a prophecy of contingent future events or just giving me worthy goals. I err on the side of worthy goals.
It is hard to say You Might Be Mistaken when it is someone older. If I found something I liked enough I doubt that I would like to find out it is all just a fairy tale.
"What did Christ do with his body after the resurrection? We never hear from him anymore". Jesus appeared post-resurrection a minimum of 10 seperate occasions prior to ascending to heaven. If you're counting times post ascension, then there's St. Paul and Damacus. Patriach Mourik is a delightful man, but he probably needs to be more clear in how he expresses himself.
@@p0stgravity997 - Maybe you could infer that, but he should have said that. If you could express that clearly then it is a position that's easily articulated. I think Patriach Mourik just doesn't believe that Christ appeared post resurrection. Which makes sense if you want to hold to an unbiblical viewpoint.
Do LDS believe they are of the actual linage of Israel? So, when you receive your patriarchal blessing in it it will say what tribe of Israel you are literally from. Meaning what tribe runs in your blood, your DNA. Mine says this: "You come through a special lineage, that of the blood of Israel, through the loins of Ephraim." I am sorry, but no Israel blood runs in my veins. Truth is, now that we have DNA, we can see the lies of the LDS Church and their so called "revelations." from LDS dot org: "In view of the foregoing statements, we can see that the lineages declared in patriarchal blessings are almost always statements of actual blood lines; they are not simply tribal identifications by assignment. ( House of Israel)
That’s a good point, @NightmareEntity. Although, when seen from the point of view that everything we have is our Father’s, then it’s not much at all. 🙂
@NightmareEntity, I totally feel you are sincere and invite you to study and reflect on what Malachi 3:8-11 means to you. I have definitely seen this promise come true in my life and in many others as well. I know that if all of us were to live this principle, poverty would end. The blessings are manifest in many ways but they do come.
Not exactly. There is no tithing police in the LDS church who are going to hunt one down and force them to pay. We are invited to keep the Law of Tithing, but 10% of nothing is nothing. There is not a specific dollar amount needed to qualify to receive one's Patriarchal Blessing.
It is funny you joked about what the cost of a Patriarchal Blessing was. Because in the early years of the church it was common practice to pay for a Patriarchal Blessing. Typical it was between $1 and $2. It was most common during the Utah Territory days. It wasn't until 1902 it was not allowed to pay for the blessing but you could accept a gratuity, in 1943 they prohibited the gratuities.
It's when a creepy old dude tells you a bunch of vague, general predictions about your life, much like psychics and fortune-tellers do, hoping that your gullible mind makes some sort of connection between future life events and his predictions.
I feel so sad for you, that you have this great desire to be miserable in your life, and impose this upon others! The church brings great JOY to it's members, something you don't seem to have any experience with! I WILL PRAY FOR YOU, AND PUT YOU ON THE PRAYER ROLE IN THE TEMPLE!
This dear man is no doubt sincere in his beliefs. But Bible believing Christians who know the Bible realize that the patriarchs were all and exclusively ancient Old testament Jewish leaders. The word patriarch/patriarchs is mentioned four times in the Bible, (Acts 2:29 and Acts 7:8-9, also Hebrews 7:4), namely, Abraham, David, and 'the 12 patriarchs of Jacob.' His belief in his priesthood authority comes from Joseph Smith's claim that biblical characters visited him personally and conferred on him a 'lost' priesthood authority that could then be transferred to his followers. The Bible teaches clearly that in New Testament times there is one, and only one great high Melchisedec priest, Jesus Christ, and the priesthood of believers. This dear man has absolutely no biblical authority to give a 'patriarchal blessing'. He may be given authority in the LDS church itself, but has absolutely no authority from the Holy Bible, or over bible believing Christians. Christians have every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus, our one and only great high Melchisedec priest As that lovely Christian song puts it, 'blessing all mine, with ten thousand besides!' Kind regards to all, especially Mormons.
The bible does not give one authority Jesus does. Jesus gave Peter, James and John the preisthood. When Joseph Smith organized the church they visited Joseph and gave the keys of the preisthood to him. The Church of Jesus Christ is a living breathing church with revelation happening daily.
I received my patriarchal blessing from Brother Mourik in early 1976. I am now the Patriarch for my Stake.

The other lineage that the patriarch tells you is what house you come from which is your ancestry. Those who do not have Jewish lineage will be adopted into the house of Ephraim or Mannassah (I think I spelled that right) and each house just has different blessings the lord has promised them.
Wow! So interesting!!!! Thank you!
Reading now. Thank you!
It's not about actual heritage. Everyone is adopted into a tribe of Israel if they are not a direct descendant of Abraham.
Ive gobe so far back in the archives that the title of the channel has changed.
To the poor soul that liked my post at 3:30 am I salute you
Are you allowed to share your patriarchal Blessing with others?
not except your family
You can but it’s considered a private and sacred, so treat it carefully.
An interesting fortune cookie alternative--at least as good as looking at a seer stone, though the Bible says not to peep at stones.
How does a mormon get appointed patriarch?
Mine was so generic it could apply to anyone. It was not personal in any way, shape or form. I honestly wish I hadn't gotten it cause now my relationship with our "Father" is more strained than ever before. I know many will say "Oh just read into it more, or be faithful the blessings will come" but unfortunately there were no blessings in it. No guidance, no admonitions, no warnings, no goals, no talents, nothing. Absolutely useless. I just wish I knew if its cause of me, the father, or the newbie patriarch I got. Oh well. Happy for those who got something useful, must be nice
Both my parents are tribe of Menessah. One has Native blood. The other is Hungarian. I am confused how that can happen. Can a patriarch tell us that?
Many of our bloodlines are so intermixed that we may be part of many tribes. We are adopted into certain tribes because each tribe has a certain role to play in the latter days. Even if you have the blood of many tribes in you (very likely) you are adopted into the tribe for the calling those of your tribe is meant for you
Chad Daybell gave me my Patriarchal Blessing. I'm a 4.1 light. I'm so happy sadly my sister is 4 dark
Aloha 🌺
Bruh I guess it’s time to read mine
nothing in mine happened
You can talk with your patriarch or bishop about your concerns about your patriarchal blessing
@ i suppose but it was so long ago in a different state. i don't know how they'd explain it away
@@eabcool it is your responsibility to work this out with the Lord. The blessing is from Him. Don’t stop seeking to understand. Answers are out there.
Of course you have to pay for a patriarchal blessing ... you have to be fully tithed up to get it.
Chef Ramsey False
Liar
Yes, because the 7 year old he was talking about definitely has a job and pays tithing 🙄
You don't have to be a full tithe payer. I would know, having been in that situation.
I think he was expressing that even though he thought Christ was absent in his life but he came to find that Christ was risen and very much so alive
Mine says this: "You come through a special lineage, that of the blood of Israel, through the loins of Ephraim."
I am sorry, but no Israel blood runs in my veins.
Truth is, now that we have DNA, we can see the lies of the LDS Church and their so called "revelations."
from LDS dot org: "In view of the foregoing statements, we can see that the lineages declared in patriarchal blessings are almost always statements of actual blood lines; they are not simply tribal identifications by assignment. ( House of Israel)
Read Jacob 5. We are adopted.
“Is there a fee?” Yes 10% of your earnings for life
That’s a good point, @NightmareEntity. Although, when seen from the point of view that everything we have is our Father’s, then it’s not much at all. 🙂
Simon Mata you aren’t giving the money to god though.. you would be giving it to the lds church headquarters
Simon Mata don’t get me wrong most Christians churches are no better with their donations.. I am poor though

For being unscripted there's really a sense of it being scripted. The church is becoming so fake and worldly 😢
I WILL PRAY FOR YOU, AND PUT YOU ON THE PRAYER ROLE IN THE TEMPLE!
>patriarch
Where's the hat bro, he doesn't look like a patriarch to me
This dear man is no doubt sincere in his beliefs.
But Bible believing Christians who know the Bible realize that the patriarchs were all and exclusively ancient Old testament Jewish leaders.
The word patriarch/patriarchs is mentioned four times in the Bible, (Acts 2:29 and Acts 7:8-9, also Hebrews 7:4), namely, Abraham, David, and 'the 12 patriarchs of Jacob.'
His belief in his priesthood authority comes from Joseph Smith's claim that biblical characters visited him personally and conferred on him a 'lost' priesthood authority that could then be transferred to his followers.
Christians have every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus, our one and only great high Melchisedec priest
As that lovely Christian song puts it, 'blessing all mine, with ten thousand besides!'
Kind regards to all, especially Mormons.
The bible does not give one authority Jesus does. Jesus gave Peter, James and John the preisthood. When Joseph Smith organized the church they visited Joseph and gave the keys of the preisthood to him. The Church of Jesus Christ is a living breathing church with revelation happening daily.
