Well, Mother Nature showing her true power. This saddens all of us! Keep your head up, just watch out for falling ice. I’ll have to send you a care package to you for sauce making. Hey everybody, make sure to hit the like button to show support 👍 Good luck Baus
Wow, we've had to replace our roof twice because of hail, but we've never had that kind of plant damage. That's brutal. I was starting to get a little bummed out just watching the damage, and they aren't even my plants. I could tell you had an awesome season in the works there. I feel for you my friend. I hope a lot of stuff bounces back fast for you!
I'm so sorry Baus! I hope the salvageable ones bounce back vigorously! I've had a nearby tornado destroy my garden and shed a few years ago, and I can sympathize with you. Stay strong, I'm looking forward to seeing the recovery update in the future!
Don’t despair! I’ve had similar garden plant damage but most bounced back in about 3 weeks…..only to get big hail again 2 months later for the kill as not enough summer left for recovery. Couple years later it happened again. My garden is pretty big (about 80 cucumber and tomato plants) so I bought hail netting and revamped things to facilitate easily using the netting and haven’t had killer hail since now 6 years later- go figure! I do keep an old sleeping bag or comforter in the car to throw over the car in case I’m away from garage when hail hits.
I'm confident many will recover! I have a way to cover the raised beds at least, might have to look into some hail netting as a quick add on, thanks for the tip!
Not much one can do with no covering Baus except to allow the plants to move ahead on their own! Still though a hailer like that sure can mess up a good start to a season! -Bob...
Even covering probably wouldnt help much here sadly, the hail punched holes in hard plastic containers, patio furniture, gutters, siding etc... it was brutal! But I am going to try and pull a couple layers of tarp over my main beds if there is a next time
Man that sucks! I was out there a few days ago with a tarp and some tent poles threw up a tarp just a simple A frame cause we were supposed to get a bunch of rain here got a nice shower that's it!
Hot as hail Damage Gut duct tape Downpour/Onslaught I heard some sauce naming in your narration🙃 Sucks that the storm caused damage but at least it was not total destruction. Looking forward to grow updates and what thrives in the next few months brother, Peace!
Well this sure sucks 😥Hope most of the things that are not just sticks will recover in some capacity 🤞Would a shade cloth cover stop (or at least slow down) the hail? Like if you had stakes in the ground and if there's a storm coming you could just run out and stretch the cloth over the plants. You could make a t-shirt: "Hail wrecked my garden and all I got was a couple of garden gnomes" 🤪
Well, the hail also punched holes through my heavy duty vinyl/nylon grill covers, right through the plastic lids of storage boxes etc... so I don't think my shade cloth would have held up too well either...but I am very tempted to try some things for next time. The main garden beds already have stakes that I do use for shade cloth to stop the sun...so we'll see!
@@bausgrows Well... The vinyl/nylon grill cover and the storage box are solid. I'm thinking the shade cloth would flex a bit and if not stop it at least slow it down a bit 🤔If you *do* try it out, I'd be interested in hearing how it works out
Twigapeno! Damn dude. I feel so terrible for you. Sounds like you've kept your sense of humor about it to some extent tho. Sometimes all you can do is laugh.
Yeah, standing there watching it happen and knowing there was nothing to do about it felt a bit helpless, but in the end...I had over 200 plants out there, plenty will survive!
That’s brutal, man. Good on you for staying positive.

Thank you Mojo!! Nature is humbling and amazing at the same time! I'm sure many will bounce back, I will not be defeated :-)
Dang that sucks. Fingers crossed they all bounce back. 🙏🏼
I would be in tears, I hope your garden comes back
Thank you, I am remaining positive that many will bounce back!

Aw man. I hope they can all recover quickly!
Fingers crossed!

Thank you! I am confident I will still have a garden season, just a little different this year :-)
It's an innovative, fast and effective pruning technique! Sorry, I couldn't resist...
hahaah I laughed!

A season of unexpected challenges on the horizon! It might be interesting to see how even the most damaged ones manage to recover.
For sure, seems my themed grow series this year might have just switched from the Humble Jalapeno to "lets see who wants to produce fruit the most?!"
Good luck, hope you get a quick recovery. I had the same thing 4 years ago, most of the peppers recovered pretty fast.
I hope so too! I have had bad hail damage before as well, but usually in early to mid May, so hopefully these ones all regrow very fast!

Thanks Phil! I should have gathered up all the fallen peppers and made a green sauce with one of those names lol.
Bummmmmmmmer
crazy weather that sucks for peppers
Hopefully many will bounce back!
That was insane! I have some spare plants if you want to drive a couple of days to get them.
Thanks but I'm holding out hope many of these will rebound with time to ripen late season!
@@bausgrows Good luck! If anything, this will be an opportunity for a great video series on your recovery.

Horrible 😢, i hope they come back
Me too. I am confident some of them will, and thats the beauty of growing 175 types of peppers...even if a bunch dont recover I will have a lot!

Hey I have a bunch of extra plants if you want them! I live near DTC.
Thank you for the kind offer. I am going to just let this all play out the rest of the season and see how it goes! Best of luck on your grow!
Look how they massacred my boy. Damn, that's just some rotten luck
I will not be defeated! Many will grow back and I should have a late harvest still!
worse than i thought
That's the beauty of growing so dang many peppers....plenty will survive!
@@bausgrows ...and you'll be able to tell your grandkids how you gardened on through the great hailstorm of '24
Don't say sorry, dude, they'll come right back from the dead in a couple weeks for sure ❤🩹
