    • @mj6962
      @mj6962 Рік тому +6

      @@Sanders155 AND don’t forget snakes! Which is what keeps me right here in a town with very few snakes or spiders. Lol

    • @Verdiumm
      @Verdiumm Рік тому

      @@Sanders155 Huntsmen spiders are harmless, they just look scary haha. i usually leave them alone in the corner of the house, or try and move them if they get too close. AFAIK they eat cockroaches, other spiders & other insects.
      It's the smaller venomous ones like redbacks, funnelwebs and whitetails you gotta worry about. but i don't see nearrly as many of them.
      __
      As for Snakes, i'd much prefer snakes than Bears or cougars!
      Snakes will just move out of your way, 9/10 in my experience. they hear you walking along the trail and try to get away. the most common snakes where i am only tend to bite if you step on them, or back them into a corner.
      They don't want to bite, because that's potentially dangerous for them too.
      People often exaggerate the animals here. in reality, we've got really passive wildlife. it really is JUST snakes and spiders really. (Crocodiles i guess, if you are in the far north)
      I love going bushwalking here, but i'd never do it without someone who knows what to do, if i went to north america, or anywhere else for that matter.
      Every other continent still has large predators around.

    • @BackyardBirdsofAustralia
      @BackyardBirdsofAustralia  Рік тому +1

      Good question, not 100% sure. Usually with young they growl when they want food, or another kookaburra might also growl when they have food to give to someone. So either way with regards to giving or receiving food. Not sure if there are other reasons though.
