I remember about 10 years ago I was going to see wrestling at my local hall here in the UK and Jake was gonna make a guest appearance.
So on the night me and my little brother waited outside the venue for about an hour then everyone was told that the ring hadn't turned up so we got our money back and I overheard security tell management that Jake hadn't shown up apparently he was still at the hotel pissed out of his head!
I also went to see him wrestle around that time. It was literally up the road from me in a hall and some friends said they were going to see him wrestle and they had a spare ticket, couldn't believe he was in the uk. I remember him coming out behind the curtain with "it's a beautiful day" by U2 playing.. He looked pretty rough and I remember him coming out to the rescue for another wrestler fighting two very large guys, haha random night that was.
worked for Dixon myself, I have nothing but respect for him on a professional level, outside of the ring I wouldn't waste my time with him.
I remember Dynamite Kid saying something similar about that promoter in his book.
I remember I saw Jake the Snake wrestle in Torquay when I was a kid.

Yes I did wrestle for All Star for about 3 months in 2008. There are things I liked about Brian and other things that I didn't but I would go back again in the future so I can't say i agree with Jake no. I just report people opinions, don't agree with everything I report.
I think I prefer Regals take on Dixon. Not a bitter drunk.
If you search Marc Rocco British wrestletalk on here it’s well documented that the U.K. scene had a habit of taking their money an running.. U.K. has a longer history than the US promoters did on wrestling, it’s just the yanks had greater ideas what to do for their business..

@@youforget1000thingsaday Weirdly Jake's bad behaviour actually led to a good result when he was here in the UK he worked for FWA for a while and did an angle with Alex Shane where Jake where he talked about him "raping and pillaging the UK wrestling scene" was actually the best work Jake did in years, because it was a pissed off Jake involved in an angle with a nugget of truth in there, that's why I believe he was trying to turn his life around.
Too right Daz the real robber was this drunkard who stole from promoters by ‘trying to’ perform while not in a fit state !
UK wrestling is not what it used to be. I've been to some All Star shows at Butlins and they were beyond aweful.
