Sub Zeo becoming Noob Saibot I am thinking one or two possibilities that happens one is Sub Zero dies then becomes Noob Saibot like in previous Mortal Kombat games or two he makes a deal with Quan Chi or Shang Tsung to increase his power and change his ice power into shadow power.
As a woman i dislike gender swapping for no reason, and there is no reason for it just look at the rest of the roster none of them have been gender swapped in this timeline. Making Cyrax a girl to me reeks of check boxes and laziness. They could've just left Cyrax alone and gave us Khrome as the female Cyber ninja because Khrome has never appeared in a MK game before, plus by doing that it would have made everyone happy and really excited for the dlc release.
If they really wanted a female Cyrax they could've made a new character who plays similarly like Lily in SF6, but NRS are allergic to making new characters

With that in mind, altering already made characters also affects the connection the audience has with them (good or bad) In this case, there are plenty of female characters that they could have added to the game from the comics and different mediums but they don't seem to have confidence in their abilities to promote any new ideas. If this isn't convincing, imagine gender swapping Lui Kang, Shang Tsung, Raiden or (General)Shao Khan. How would the audience take that and what purpose would it serve? Or maybe make Kitana, Mileena or Sindel male. How would that affect the story or lore of the game?

There was a big court case by the mom and NRS had to pay her out around a mill because Cyrax was intentionally designed to be over stimulating then a character actually needs to be.

It just doesn't make sense to me because in other timelines, Kuai Laing was a born cryromancer and Hanzo got his powers from the netherrealm, and now they are saying that those powers are all just taught? Like cryromancy isn't a race of people anymore but just a magic trick, and the same with the hellfire powers. It just kind of ruined it for me but everyone else seems to love it.

Apparently Titan Havik forcifully turns Bi-Han into Noob Saibot. Lui Kang rescues and restores Bi-Han, separating Noob from him. Bi-Han is forever grateful and rejoins the good guys while Noob Saibot remains a separate entity and is pure evil.

New characters aren't anything worth getting hype over nor is it going to "save the game" -system overhaul -new game modes - jukebox mode -better customization - 1v1 mode - an actual Tag team mode -if the main menu was set at night time it would seem more appealing -more defensive mechanics/better defensive mechanics - mini games that aren't locked in Invasions mode stage finishers - tag team fatalities The list could go on. but i honestly feel by the time NRS gets the ball rolling on this game people are going to dropping it in favor for 2XKO or Tekken.

I hate race and gender changes, but this game it works, cuz the world is rebooted by LiuKang and there are some changes. Cannot wait for the Noob! and I really hope to see more cool kameo costumes. They added Kameo system, but it feels week or boring. THey should get some more love!
Movesets still gonna be similar, name still same, backstory wasnt all that much to begin with, so why so many crybabies over this?? Im just glad we finally having them back.
Using MK1’s Kuai Liang and Bi-Han’s father so the two could eventually put their differences aside to put their corrupted father to rest and maybe give Bi-Han more better character development than him being an edgy asshole.
Just theorizing but I think the female Cyrax could be entirely different person but just has "Cyrax" as a code name. Like Kuai Liang now having Scorpion as his code name but Hanzo still existing. Also Kuai Liang did said that MK1 Cyrax and Sektor have undying loyalty to Sub Zero despite him going against the clan's tradition, howeover we know the original Cyrax, while having loyalty, would go against the Lin Kuei if he feels they're betraying what they originally stood for. Maybe we can still have the original male equivalent but built as a different character. Maybe a Shirai Ryu version of him.
I like it a little especially when it's characters that have a big difference between the way they were and the way they are now. The problem is that the current overlapping characters to me aren't that different. In fact female Cyrax feels like the only overlapping character that feels like they will be different even if only the gender difference. After all they don't have to change anything about Cyrax outside of the few things they have to change thanks to him now being a her. I hope Sektor also has a big change that further separates him from his Kameo counterpart.

Cyrax being a woman isn’t an insane change. The gameplay of throwing bombs to juggle people should remain the same. They made Fujin a woman and is Raidens sister. Apparently Kung Lao wants to smash Fujin from he talks about it in the intro dialogues. Can’t wait for the story mode DLC

In a lot of the character dialog and tower endings Scorpion & the Shirairyu have been hunting Bi-Han. I'm assuming that they will finally "catch him"... I think that Quan Chi or Shang Tsung is going to shape-shift into Scorpion and kill Bi-Han then turn him into Noob Saibot. I think that this Noob will be full of rage and want vengeance much like the Hanzo/Scorpion from the past timeline.

That's what I'm concerned about too because if it was just for fun then they shouldn't have done it but if there is a story reason (even if simply a side effect of Liu Kang changing things around) then I'm going to be fine with Cyrax being female. I remember having a theory a few months back that they do the Dairou = Havik twist with Cyrax, with this timeline's Cyrax being Jacqui mostly due to her cameo (pun not intended) in the final chapter having bits of yellow on her armor from what I remember. As months pass, this theory has lessen since I was still riding off MK1 still being new and we were just getting leaks after leaks for the story pack.

I've still been enjoying the game plenty. The first kombat pack was cool. I was extremely hyped for omni man, and ermac is one the best characters in the game imo. Yeah, gender swapping a character for no reason is kinda stupid but it not enough to cancel the entire game over.

Kuai is more likely to be Sub than Hanzo. Traditionally the brother always becomes the next Sub so it makes more sense than Hanzo

Apparently Titan Havik forcifully turns Bi-Han into Noob Saibot. Lui Kang rescues and restores Bi-Han, separating Noob from him. Bi-Han is forever grateful and rejoins the good guys while Noob Saibot remains a separate entity and is pure evil.

I hate race and gender changes, but this game it works, cuz the world is rebooted by LiuKang and there are some changes. Cannot wait for the Noob! and I really hope to see more cool kameo costumes. They added Kameo system, but it feels week or boring. THey should get some more love!

Just theorizing but I think the female Cyrax could be entirely different person but just has "Cyrax" as a code name. Like Kuai Liang now having Scorpion as his code name but Hanzo still existing. Also Kuai Liang did said that MK1 Cyrax and Sektor have undying loyalty to Sub Zero despite him going against the clan's tradition, howeover we know the original Cyrax, while having loyalty, would go against the Lin Kuei if he feels they're betraying what they originally stood for.
Maybe we can still have the original male equivalent but built as a different character. Maybe a Shirai Ryu version of him.
Should Kameo be repeated as full characters? I would personally prefer bringing back other characters like Jade, Erron black, noob, scarlet.

I like it a little especially when it's characters that have a big difference between the way they were and the way they are now. The problem is that the current overlapping characters to me aren't that different. In fact female Cyrax feels like the only overlapping character that feels like they will be different even if only the gender difference. After all they don't have to change anything about Cyrax outside of the few things they have to change thanks to him now being a her. I hope Sektor also has a big change that further separates him from his Kameo counterpart.

In a lot of the character dialog and tower endings Scorpion & the Shirairyu have been hunting Bi-Han. I'm assuming that they will finally "catch him"... I think that Quan Chi or Shang Tsung is going to shape-shift into Scorpion and kill Bi-Han then turn him into Noob Saibot. I think that this Noob will be full of rage and want vengeance much like the Hanzo/Scorpion from the past timeline.

That's what I'm concerned about too because if it was just for fun then they shouldn't have done it but if there is a story reason (even if simply a side effect of Liu Kang changing things around) then I'm going to be fine with Cyrax being female. Honestly I will still play her regardless because I'm not picky that way when it comes to games like this. Reptile may be my favorite doesn't mean he's the only character I play as so I'll be fine
I remember having a theory a few months back that they do the Dairou = Havik twist with Cyrax, with this timeline's Cyrax being Jacqui mostly due to her cameo (pun not intended) in the final chapter having bits of yellow on her armor from what I remember. As months pass, this theory has lessen since I was still riding off MK1 still being new and we were just getting leaks after leaks for the story pack.

I've still been enjoying the game plenty. The first kombat pack was cool. I was extremely hyped for omni man, and ermac is one the best characters in the game imo. Yeah, gender swapping a character for no reason is kinda stupid but it not enough to cancel the entire game over.
