Bought a new house ( new construction a bit affordable ) in mid-500k looking at $3500 monthly mortgage @ 1700+ sq ft. plus in an amazing location. Even our realtor was shocked how we found one. Never give up! You'll find what you're looking for in this crazy housing market. We stick to our budget that's 35% of our net income per month. So that there will be wiggle room for savings and other investments. I will NEVER for the life of me ever understand the logic of buying super expensive house beyond your income and then working 2-3 jobs so you can afford your mortgage! Like its so ironic you bought a house for rest and comfort and now you cant even go home because you work all the time, you're tired and stressed out and you can't even enjoy your new home. Like why!? (I knew a lot of people like this entire monthly salary just for their mortgage) 😅
Totally agree with not spending more on a house than you can afford. I left a part out of this video (intentionally) about a coworker who bought a $1.8 million home with his wife (also a nurse). They spend $10k-$11k on their mortgage alone!
@@NursesToRiches OMG!!!😱 Thats a classic house poor! If its me, how am I gonna eat and live after?!😅🤣
Even if our friends will tell us our house is small, 1.) I dont care,I'm the one paying not you.2) We live here and we're very comfortable everyday. You might just visit us once in years so you're comment doesnt matter.Even in case of emergency (we really dont know) just on our solo salary we made sure we will still be paying comfortably. Crunch the numbers and always calculate before making huge decisions. Gosh! 😅
I knew a nurse that bragged about living near this and that Dr.
She worked 6-7 days per week (12 hour shifts)😬
I think I’d rather be home to enjoy my family
I just started school to become an RN and your videos really motivate me to keep going!! As a full time mommy and student it’s easy to get overwhelmed but I love seeing you guys post videos like this. It’s a reminder for me that success is just over the hill. Btw you’re in my area (:
Wow, thank you! Keep doing your thing and don't give up!
Thank you for mentioning the distance of these places to possible hospitals as the drive going to work is also key factor in deciding where to stay. 😊
Your content is always so informative
Thank you so much!
This is so affordable ; I live in Seattle where a tiny 3 bedroom home costs 1.2 million unless you live in a unsafe area with bad schools 3 hours away ; you need 1.4-2 million to buy a nice home
That's exactly what we said when we left NYC and started looking for homes.
Checkout the new houses by Delta Shores in Sacramento!
"All I want in Life is Pancakes" -- My favorite unspoken part of this video!
Lmao
Hi @Jason and Monica, you both are doing amazing work. Please can you include multi-family homes in your viewing? It would help some of us looking in that area. Thank you.
Loves these videos
Thank you!
Hi! Could you do an episode about houses for sale and rentals in central Sacramento, please? I am looking for safe walkable areas with the parks for a dog. I am ITU Nurse from the UK trying to relocate.
Awesome video guys! Me and my wife need to actually start on getting our CA licenses so we can make the move.
Get it asap. You can always change your mind later but if you decide to move later and don't have your license, you'll regret it.
@@NursesToRiches definitely. We've been planning on it since before I even went to nursing school, ever since I chatted with you (Jason) on Reddit, before you started the channel. I'm a year into being an RN now and my wife has 6 years, so we don't really have an excuse lol. I do feel like it's very difficult to find a job at Kaiser there though. Especially for both of us.
I just was looking in that same area. I didn’t realize that you guys were in Sac metro!!
Hey you lot! I'd like to say I like your videos, especially these showing houses. I'm trying to decide where to settle in CA and the Sac area has a lot to offer. Especially, RN pay rates compared to housing costs!!
Glad you like them!
We saw these houses 🥰
I really like the environment in roseville compared to sacramento. I actually watched your videos before moving here in sac 😊
I can see the appeal of living away from the city of Sacramento. There's less crime, less congestion, more land, better schools, and the list goes on. But we're city folk, and we enjoy the hustle and bustle environment.
You should become realtors 😊
Hah, I tried that last year but had no time to study for the exam because we're trying to do too many things at the same time.
Hey Monica! Where are those cute pants from? Also I love you guys! I just received my certificate for surgical tech and you guys are really making me consider a nursing degree 😊
I bought it awhile back but it's from Free People 🙂
I love that you’re a always number guy
I dream about numbers. Monica's good at remembering anyone's name. Not me. We just got a new credit card and I memorized the numbers 10 seconds after taking it out of the envelope because I hate having to take it out of my pocket every time I want to make a purchase (although I do use Google pay or the browser to auto fill most of the time).
What is the app that you were using to calculate mortgage and HOA at the first home?
Zillow
We really wanna move from NYC (living in NJ) to here, but my non-nursing career husband can't find any job in this area! He's an attorney and they have itty bitty of openings but not for his specialty. As a nurse, I am grilling him to find a job lol
Dang, that's why I feel blessed that Monica and I are both nurses and can just pack up, move, and get a job anywhere in the country.
Elk Grove is low key more expensive than Roseville and even some areas of sacramento can go for a million. East sac land park Curtis park greenhaven. I always had the perception that Roseville was unaffordable because it is so white. But it really like all the other areas
There are affordable homes in all of these cities if people are willing to compromise on some of the things they want in a house.
Please make a video: Steps to move to California (foreign nurses)😊
There’s no way I would pay for an apt when I could have a home . I’m renting 2900 sq ft 3300 month and that’s including my pets . A yard , privacy
But it’s really up to each person
That apt is so plain I’m actually right down the street in Crocker ranch
How much for a 850k ?
I would
Like you to do research and videos on bigger
Homes , I love roseville . Also a nurse at same company !! Hello! And single so it’s just
Me
Yeah, the problem is that interest rates are extremely high at the moment, so renting actually makes more financial sense for the majority of Americans. There's actually a renting vs buying calculator that was recently published by the LA times and I'm going to cover it in a future video.
I want to see Auburn! Im torn on living somewhere close to nature vs being more progressive. 😅
Bonus points for recommendations on areas for lgbt families 🌈
The houses over there is really affordable and nice but the location is so bad. You’re pretty much in antelope and getting anywhere takes forever. Even getting to the high way from there would take 15minutes
Agreed.
My son is persuing bachelor's of nursing in india he's looking forward to go the states for he's masters of nursing i wanna know that can he work after his msn in California?
The apartments were giving NYC townhouse
Haha, yeah that's it felt like with all those stairs
Are there HOA fees within each community? How much?
He said about a $100
Yeah, most of these communities have HOA fees that are between $0 and $150 per month
Next video about crna salary please
I just released that one today ua-cam.com/video/NkgQi4_Zm7g/v-deo.html
Is there a Mellaroos tax/fee on these homes?
Everything in Placer County that is newer/new has mella roos. Expect an additional $3000-4000 a year on top of your regular property tax. Check out Elk Grove and Folsom which is better, especially if you want more diversity (you are asian/black/etc) and your political party is blue/democrat/liberal.
Guess who starts in a Northern California Kaiser in next month🎉
Nooooo wayyy! Congrats dude! Which Kaiser will you be working in?
@@NursesToRiches I'm starting at Vacaville 06/10 dude! Literally just signed the contract. You're channel gave me all the inspiration I needed. Just used what you said in your videos. Took me 10 days to get a permanent Cali license and a month and a half later I had a job offer at Kaiser. ✊🏿
@@jonathanjack1000 that amazing! I have coworkers who came from Vacaville and they loved it there.
Can you afford it as a nurse
Most nurses out here own a home. Whether or not they can afford it has nothing to do with their income though. It's all about their mindset and how much of their income goes toward unnecessary spending. The median home prices in these cities are just that, the median. So half the homes cost more than the median and half cost less. Some people are just not willing to spend less on a house because the house doesn't check off all the boxes in their list.
4000 a month. most people cant afford 2000 a month. this is insane
If you look at the name of the channel, we're speaking to those nurses who watch our channel and can actually afford to make those payments.
The channel basically has informed me that nurses make more than doctors and are millionaires
