The making process from Choco bean to bar is started from scratch. That's so impressive 👏🏻Imagine when u serve the 🍫 to ur guest and they will be like "Wow u do it all by yourself?". The fulfillment is there 😊
I'm wondering how much of that she yield after the end result? First you loose some of the weight by taking the skin or shells off, and when pounding and grinding you loose a bit by sticking to the bowl and the stick thing she used, and then loose some when it turns oily and some of the moisture evaporates? Wish she could of weighed all of the bars to see how much was lost after the end result? Jw? It really doesn't matter but then again it might matter to the person who has done all the work and don't want to loose any of it really and you can't blame them. It might be a good thing that kids could do. Everything but the heating up part, let them grind and pound till it's over maybe they will learn about hard work to make something, learn about how it was made before modern technology and appreciate it admire the their hard work in making a bar of candy and be proud of it, then when grown they can do the same thing in their careers and be proud of hard work and sacrifice in their careers!
wow, real chocolate bars! you dont see that everyday. My grandmother used to make chocolate milk for us from real cacao beans as well when I was a kid, i will never forget that smell and the bitterness of that chocolate hahaha. RIP grandmama
I did this but took some extra steps, purchased the fresh cacao pod & fermented/roasted the beans. It was an amazing learning process. It is cool they sell kits like that ine you used.
The flavour of the bars might be similar to "table chocolate" bars consumed in Mexico... The most popular brand is "Abuelita" (which means granny). Have you ever tried them?
labor intensive... shows how much work making chocolate is! I don't like dark chocolate so i probably would have added milk. :3 thank you for sacrificing your time and muscles
very cool! you have done a great job, especially because the chocolate is very bright and not whitish... can you also use a mixer to create a smoother final paste?
Wow thank you for your hard work!!~ it must taste delicious since you have put in so much effort :) but then it's so tough... I wouldn't even be able to survive first stage of peeling the skin... :/
This is one of those projects that it's like you better not want it right then! Or maybe since I'm watching this after Valentine's Day this is what your supposed to make for your boyfriend or husband? "Honey I made you chocolates! And when I say made them I mean it! There better be an awesome white day gift for these coming! Lol
wow. it so cooool!! I've naver seen the cocoa bean. It looks like peanut that also needs to remove the skin. so,, How can I get this Kit? just in Japan?TT
if you had a food processor, you could probably have grounded the beans up to powdery form before doing the heat grind in the double boiler XD Edit: I'm guessing that it didn't get hot enough that you needed to temper the chocolate?
"...and this is what I did yesterday instead of doing my homework. My classmates are smart but I can eat chocolate bars made with beans. Who is cooler?" This would be a good thing to tell to my teacher😂
Hi decocookie! I haven't had a chance to get on my computer and my UA-cam phone app doesn't let me send messages, so I figured I would comment here. I wanted to thank you again for the lucky bag, I received it in the mail recently. I love everything and my mom was really happy too, she was so excited to see in the bag 😍 Thank you!!

Your arms must feel dead after this! It's a neat kit but I don't think I'd have the patience or muscles to do this. Thank you for making the video!
Alexandria M this comment sums up what I was going to say great job anyway
Alexandria M I think she was trying show people sometimes you just need patience. But yeah I know what you mean! 😀
lol iceman same i saw this and was like nice someone perfectly summed it up
In one part, you have to be 90 minutes stirring up the mix, wouldn't even be 5 minutes doing that
thank you!!:))
I can't help but imagine Decocookie with massive arm muscles after this kit XD love the video as always!!!!
Natalie Welch and that's what you call *exersize* for begginers

I found it amusing. ^^
Your poor arms - thank you for doing this for us all.
Adam Carpenly
the snap of the choclate bar
sooooooooooooooooooooo satisfieing
megan rose Aah, yes. That snap is an indicator for excellent chocolate! I bet it tastes great, too.
ive been reading it as "Bean to bear" this whole time... godammit
I would have been lazy and used a food processor for the dry grinding! Must be great tasting after doing all that work
I say hats off to you for enduring the hard labour to make such delicious treats!
I did this but took some extra steps, purchased the fresh cacao pod & fermented/roasted the beans. It was an amazing learning process. It is cool they sell kits like that ine you used.
Anybody find the sounds satisfying?

I have no patience to do this at all, props to you decocookie!
I strangely love the sound of the cocoa beans. when she was touching them in the bowl before taking the skin off. Relaxing sound! :-)
Bean To Bar
