million thanks to your video, i ordered and followed your instructions and happy to say 72cc is installed and i couldnt be happier heat vcycling now but update on top speed when i can
Im getting Malossi kit for my 92 Elite SR, im super excited to see others giving the af05 a chance. Gonna keep the stock pipe and airbox with no filter, hopefully the 88 main jet i have in it now is enough
Have you checked your compression on it? I suspect I have a low comp motor. Someone installed one of these kits on it and I was reading 120psi. It ran fine but now all of the sudden it won’t run at all
Hello Mark... When installing the new Malossi kit you're not changing the stroke. Your using the stock head and the jug that's provided with the gaskets are a bolt on replacement which is extremely nice! No worry at all about timing. Good luck on your install!
i’m gonna be binge watching your videos now that i have an elite. quick question! are those front turn signals original? the pervious owner took all the turn signals off, so i’m trying to find new ones! thanks!
Hello Joseph! Welcome to my channel! Yes to answer your question. The signals are original. I try to keep my bikes as original as possible. Good luck on your build!
I also have an 87elite 50. I have installed the malossi big bore kit, a bellini 21 carburetor, slick Willie exhaust, the malossi head and this 23 big valve manifold. I have yet to get it all the way put back together so I can get it started wondering where you got the tack and temp gauge from?

did you re-use the old cylinder bolts instead of installing new studs and nuts ?, no mention of a torque wrench or tightening sequence either ?, surely a recipe for disaster
I just upgraded my 1987 Honda elite 50 with a high performance variator, 70 cc big bore kit and performance exhaust. The bike runs perfectly but at max throttle it only can maintain max speed for about 30-45 seconds and the engine then cuts out. Did you experience anything like this? It seems like the engine is not getting enough fuel. Several people have said to do a compression test but I don’t think that’s the problem because it run perfect for long stretches as long as you don’t go max throttle. Can you offer any suggestions?
Hi I have the exact same scooter. Got it brand new in 1989 and thinking of doing same kit. Any problems with the bbk? Also still recommend 90 jet with this upgrade?
Hello Pat.... The bike starts right up no problem. Yes, still using a 90 jet. I just add a couple cap fulls of oil when I fill up the gas tank. Great kit!
Thank you! Welcome! You wrap the wire around the ignition coil spark plug wire around 4-5 times holding it in place with electrical tape. I have a video showing this under my Elite 125 video's.
@CptH0wdy I used a Malossi Wild Lion with a Polini kit in my Aero 50 with the Malossi gears. It went 55mph. I haven't really rode the Elite 50 I have in the video in years. I may try something in the future. I have too many projects! So, to answer your question... I have on an AF05, just not the one in my video.
It really needs a better exhaust at the very least. It is stronger on acceleration, better off the line and slightly better on top end. Funny...I still haven't seen really what it can do. I haven't pushed it since I did the speed test video. I think it does 45 but it really deserves another chance. I don't ride it at all. Way to small for me. As far as was it worth it? Sure, it was fun to install! It wasn't that expensive. I think with a better exhaust it will hit 50mph no problem. Since it's the "S" model it already has the better gearing. My Aero 50 did 58mph with Polini BBK, Wild Lion exhaust and bigger carb. Doing near 60mph on that little bike is eye opening! The Aero had that tall gearing I bought and installed from Malossi. It was a snail off the line until 15mph then it kicked in!
No, it's not more reliable. That's BS. I do admit there are a lot more upgrades available for the AF16 which does make it more desirable to upgrade.... But....That does NOT make the AF05 unreliable! I've had Malossi and Polini kits used for the AF05 with ZERO issues! The AF05 is a strong engine! You don't know what your taking about!
I actually bought it last year from a seller on Ebay. He doesn't have it in stock any more but this is a great deal if you want one! Good luck!!! www.racingplanetusa.com/malossi-aero-honda-elite-se50-70cc-cylinder-malossi-sport-honda-vision-peugeot-rapido-honda-vision-nb50-aero-bore-performance-cylinder-malossi-scooter-racing-parts-p-21161-1.html
Thank you for your reply back I just got me a 87 elite with a af05 on it and your the frost person I saw o UA-cam and I didn’t know the had such a kit for af05e I thank god I came across your channel that had valuable information thanks again much appreciate 🤙🏼 Aloha
Ruby the Elite thank you for your feedback I have a 70cc kit I’m also doing with my 87 af05e I’m also keeping my stock carb as well I was just wondering on the jetting now I know what size I should start with thanks for your video keep them coming I’ll definitely will keep watching 🤙🏼
Please keep in mind.... The final reduction gear ratio on an Elite 50 is different from an Elite 50S. The 50 is a 11.097:1 and the 50S is a more desirable 10.243:1. At full throttle with a BBK installed on a 50 you will be at a very high RPM which can be dangerous to the motor! Look into the Malossi primary gears as well if you only have a 50 and not a 50S. I explain this in the beginning of my BBK video. Good luck!

That paint job is awesome great video 👍
Thank you! Welcome to my channel!
Again, another great howto video.
Do you have a link to the petcock valve for your SE50?
Great video
Thanks, don't forget to subscribe if you haven't yet!! 🙂
Great informational video I’m about to do in the big bore kit on my elite s af16
Thank you non ya! Good luck on your build!!! 👍

I'm using a 90 and have an air filter in the stock air box with stock exhaust.
Love the video, only thing, you didn't say anything about lubricating the jug, pin or piston...but I'm assuming you did, a newbie might not
Have you checked your compression on it? I suspect I have a low comp motor. Someone installed one of these kits on it and I was reading 120psi. It ran fine but now all of the sudden it won’t run at all
I'm going to be doing this same job
When installing the new piston do you have to worry about timing ? I have the same Honda elite se50 and I just received the maslossi kit as well !

If you don't have an Elite 50S I would strongly suggest getting the primary gears I mentioned in the video. Malossi makes them.
did you re-use the old cylinder bolts instead of installing new studs and nuts ?, no mention of a torque wrench or tightening sequence either ?, surely a recipe for disaster
Did you have to make any special mods to the oil injection pump to compensate for the larger cylinder displacement?
@AngeloGiannotti Great question! I did forget to address that. I add two capfulls of oil at every gas fill up and have been fine.

Yes, you need to increase your main jet inside the carb. Buy a kit with a bunch of sizes. You're starving the engine because the jet is too small!

Have you ever tired to tune different pipes on the afo5 with bbk?

@@rubytheelite ohh gotcha.dont use the mlm pipe. It’s all top end and a bitch to tune. Im gunna have to find another one
What big bore kit you got on and what size cylinder cc?
So how much top end and acceleration did you gain? Was it worth it
It really needs a better exhaust at the very least. It is stronger on acceleration, better off the line and slightly better on top end. Funny...I still haven't seen really what it can do. Do you put oil inside the cylinder while changing it
I lubricanted the pin only connected to the rod. Then of course the outside of the piston and inside the jug with oil.
you should af16 swap it and put a 72cc polini bore kit on it it will be way more reliable that the af05 with a bore kit

Is there a torque spec for anythingthing on it ?
No, I'm not aware of one.
Where did you get the piston ?

Did you change the plug if so what did you go too
Still same plug as in video
@@rubytheelite so the original plug that was in it before the bbk install
so did you have too put a longer plug in or did you you use original plug before the bbk install you changed plug can you give me the number of it

Better pipe and 26mm oko carb. Thank me later
Agree Luke....I had a Malossi Wild Lion pipe and oko carb on my Aero. Definitely helped.
