- Picked up this cool 1987 Honda Elite50! It was in pieces when I got it. Carburetor is off, all the plastics and bolts are in a box! In this video we go through the entire bike, analyze why it stopped running and attempt to fix it! Hope you guys enjoy!... Make sure to like and subscribe!

Thats brass piece is called the emulsion tube
Clean the fuel sensor with cleaner and get all the corrosion off. Should work

Nice where did you get the scooter from? Also where do you buy your other scooters/mopeds from such as Honda Sprees ect?
I find all my stuff on Craigslist and Facebook marketplace!
Here in Florida these are dime a dozen for parts if you check the right places. Even my 125 and 150 can be found here I bought 2 in the same week cheap. Right now there is a 50 on Craigslist for less than 400 complete and rideable.

I had a 150 Deluxe new in 86 and rode for 9 years. Best bike I ever had. Finding these is my mid life restoration crisis. The 125 only has 6K miles and the 150 has around 3500. 125 is compete and roadworthy picked up for $300 on Craigslist. Blue was a barn find gift from friend helping clean out the new garage at his shop. Tag last registered in 2006 and carb gone probably as ling from cobwebs all over everything. I stuck a battery in, sprayed starter fluid in the intake and it fired second try. Cant keep a real bike down.
Did you do a full service on it? I just picked one up but not sure how to change the oil on it.

This is on a Honda spree but it’s basically the same location and oil for the elite. Also, I highly suggest switching to premix (40:1) and plugging off the oil injector line. Then you don’t run the risk of it failing and then your bike overheating. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. But go checkout the spree video because the bikes are basically the same.

Hi I have a same scooter and is working good before but now work for 5 minutes and never give me maximum power and is off

Probably needs a carb clean. They get clogged up very easily and won’t run right. Hope you figure it out👍🏼

Hey, I'm new to 2 strokes, don't tell my ruckus group lol.... but I have a 87 elite s 50. It only starts when I block the carb with my hand "self choke method " I put a new bystarter cleaned carb, petcock seems good, still same issue... anything I'm missing?
that thing on carb is the electronic choke!

Honda called them Auto ByStarter ... My 125 and 150 have them unfortunately.
SOMEONE PLZ HELP! so I'm not getting fuel. 87 Elite 50 S. If I suck on vac hose fuel comes out of fuel line but when vac hose is connected to carb no fuel from fuel line.. good petcock from running parts bike, cleaned carb and in tank filter. Any suggestions would be appreciated..

Do you still have the stock carb? Clean it out and put it back on. They run best with the stock carb and air box👍🏼
I have a video coming out in the next week on my 1984 Honda Aero50. Basically the same engine as the elite. I show how I install the carb in that video. Very simple. Keep a lookout for it👍🏼

Yes a rebuilt, and I mean really rebuilt not spray washed and gaskets, carburetor will always be better than a cheap made aftermarket chinese throwaway carb. They are made cheap just for that purpose and your classic bike will reject it quickly.

Without stock airbox it will always give you problems

@@volvo850r3 no way! I have one also. The wiring harness is all burned up on mine! I don’t know if I want to pull everything off and replace the harness. I don’t even know if it runs haha. It’s a big scoot!
