Figuring it out and making it work... love it! A friend shared something her grandfather would say and I try to keep it in mind: Fix it up, Wear it out, Make do, Do without.
Sounds like a guy who had skills and limited capital or resources, mindsets which came out of the depression and times of shortages. Great sayings. Things we need to hear today in a disposable world.
Thanks Tim. Now flipping the cutting edge. Had to cut off half the bolts and cut a "window" in a couple plates someone welded to the bottom of the blade in order to remove two of the bolts for the corner cutting edges. Just finished with all the linkage (boring and making bushings) for the blade functions. Had 6" of slop before engaging the valve cluster. Will install that stuff today.
Great job Patrick! You remind me of my BIL. In the 40plus years I have known him he has rarely had to pay somebody else to work on anything he owns. He is the man I call on when I need advice or help. I have gotten so much good info from Heidi and You over the years I have watched your channel. Thanks for another good video. Phil
I really enjoyed watching the take down and repair.. Especially when you showed how to use different methods on getting the project accomplished.. My hands aren't strong(no grip) It gives me hope to work on my little tractor, which needs hoses replaced, etc.
Mike watched this one close, he used to do communications, buoy systems and antennas for submarines. He would have liked to be there for this video! 😊 Too bad we are at the opposite sides of the country. He almost made it to the sub base up there but he had the heart attack the day before he was supposed to leave. Once again, nice job Patrick. Many Blessings!
Great job, Patrick . If you reach for your loctite and it is empty, something such as lighter fluid will get you through until next time . I'm not a smoker but had a brother that usually had a can here or there . Also, loosen up both hydraulic lines so you will have an ease of teardown.
I know one of the recent owners was a mechanic who showed this old dozer some love. It fires right up. I'm flipping the cutter over now which was fun. Had to cut off half the bolts but have new ones in. Also re worked, bored out parts and built bushings for the blade controls. Probably put those in this week to tighten up those controls. Neat little dozer.
Wow! That was awesome. That little dog is too much. He got so excited when you started up that tractor. Take care!
He has to ride on all the things! haha
I don't dare leave that dog. He throws a fit if he don't get to ride!

Jack of all trades ! Awesome that machine is still going! The older and less computerized the best !!
All hydraulic, no computer to go haywire. Hardly any wire on this one for sure.
Hello Mr Rain I enjoyed watching you repair your 1976 450 lift cylinder Cody is ready for a ride thanks again for sharing this with us.

Appreciate the compliment Phil. There are definitely things beyond my skillsets but I also like trying to fix things myself.
Good job Patrick! I hear a little cry in the background, and I think it is my Mr. Cody Awe the boss is there! love seeing that cute face.

Thanks Debbie. I have found that different types of leverage are necessary for all of us when it comes to such things.
Interesting video , thanks for sharing , God bless !

He is still doing more work on it. We have another video coming out in a couple weeks of another project on this dozer and two more in the works :)
@@RainCountryHomestead I’ll make sure Mike sees them, he really enjoys them.
He must have been headed for Bremerton. I was in electronics in the Army. I like tinkering on this stuff, it keeps the mind busy.
@@MrRain-hk4zi he was electronics in the Navy, then Civil Service- Kings Bay Georgia

have any tips on increasing iron naturally?
Cook in cast iron, eat high iron foods like spinach or liver.
@@RainCountryHomestead thanks!
Lick iron grindings from around your bench grinder? 😃
