Love the format if you think about the fish it is a heck of a lot better than draggin fish around all day in the live well my home lake takes a beating all year every year. The elites drag these fish 70 miles one way from the lake to way in . And it takes a toll on these fish and the pressure to catch is a hall of a lot more stressful. I think they should all go to this format. And only the strong fishermen will survive already lost some hammers like Brandon. And Gerald haven't figured out who else yet but there are quite a few
I call bs on that release percentage. Do you watch these fish get released nope ya dont does conservation not appeal to you catch a bass let it go right back where it came from . . Some people it's all about the bragging rights look what I caught have you ever put 5 6 pounders in your live well an hour after your tournament starts and try to keep them alive all day its damn hard to do especially in June threw August.
I know he didn’t win, but the Bass Fishing World has been disrespecting Bryan Thrift for too long. No doubt he’s one of the greatest anglers on the planet right now, along with Evers, and Wheeler.
Who has been disrespecting Brian Thrift i thought almost everyone reapected him he is a hammer with about 12 wins under his belt made millions of dollars fishing let them call him what they want he will be on the top of the leaderboards weather they like it or not
I’m glad Jacob won he’s definitely a stick for sure but Bryan Thrift is also the man and he knows how to get it done can’t wait to watch the rest of the season this year it should be interesting between these two badass fishermen.
I'm an otr trucker. Been out 21 weeks. But I'll be home (Headland, AL) in 5 days for 2 weeks of nothing but bass fishen. Eufaula, Seminole, Chattahoochee, Martin, Blackshear, Suwannee!!!! Damn I can hardly wait!
Our Cup episodes air on Outdoor Channel Saturdays and the Bass Pro Tour is live streamed on our website. More information about future tv shows will be announced in the future!
Pretty unreal event! As much as I hate being laid off this time of year, there’s no greater learning tool than to watch these events live! So glad The BPT went to a 2 lb. minimum weight! It should hush the “dink fest” haters! Props to the top 10 finalists! The final day coulda went either way! The shallow bite surprisingly died as the day went on. And amazingly JW found a school offshore that bit in the dirt. IMO the most exciting BPT live I’ve seen so far! Simply awesome!
I just want to know what it takes to get stated in the tour. I mean they never tell us where some of these guys i never heard of before come from. Does it take big money or is there a entry level qualifier? Inquiring minds want to know.
@Hollywood T I've won over 100k by fishing tournaments weekends over the last 15 years. I guess luck has as much to do with fishing as talent. But I don't think I would call it gambling . And I researched to discover that MLF is invitation only at this point but they are working on an entry level format to be in place hopefully in the next 3 years.
Thanks for leading by example Jacob with proper fish handling. Way too many guys who should know better, holding bass up horizontally by the jaw without the other hand supporting the body.
Why, on EVERY hook set is it automatically a “biggin”, without first laying eyes on the fish? And it always is usually a 1, 2, or if they’re lucky, a 3-something? What happened to “biggin” being 6+? Drama queens like he and Ike for TV advertising, that’s what. They didn’t even scratch the surface of what that lake can do. 5-fish sacks of 30-40lbs are COMMON *IF* you don’t fish “Hollywood” style.
Leon Budd I’m not saying I’m better than anyone. I’ve weighed 30+LB 5-fish sacks there in the mid-late 90’s, and won big fish a few times with 8+lb. I got out of tournament fishing because of the hoopla around pumping products. The silliness of every hookset “biggin” “biggin” gets to be a bit stupid after the first few times and it’s only a 1,2,or at best 3lb fish. I say 2-4 is a good one, 5 is a really good one, 6+ is “biggin” territory, 8+ is “GIANT” territory. The commercialization of the sport is hurting it. Fishing has and will always be about fun, spending quality time with your family in the outdoors. Period. Take that away, and it’s just another JOB. I’ll leave it at that.
How about a video that actually shows some fishing and not just catching.. This format is stupid.. Let’s go! Big en! Ding! 🤦🏼♂️So annoying.. Can’t wait for the CLASSIC to see some real fishing.! Sad these dudes sold out, and for what?
Darin Turbyville I agree. Tweak the format. Only allow their top 5 to “count”. Keep the rest the same. Release immediately. Am I the only one that thinks that’s a better way?
This is a highlight video dumb ass This format is better for the fish in my opinion The average mortality rate for 5 fish tournaments ranges from 43%-55%. Immediate release tournaments are going to replace the weigh in tournaments in the near future anyways
Well, there's the no entry fee versus bass pay to play for starters. I personally enjoy both formats. Nice to have something new versus 5 fish, fishing the same lakes the same time of year. If you follow the industry, bpt has improved conditions at bass for the anglers along with giving a new group of guys a place to compete. Granite it cost 45k 50k a year to fish but well worth it if you can compete at that level. Both formats require a very high skill level. I personally fing bpt the most demanding mentality and physically. Unlike 5 fish you cant just pull up on your honey hole you found in practice and sit on it till they turn on. You will get your teeth knocked out with bpt. You have to fish the moment and change with the conditions. Bpt format to me truly showed wheeler's extremely high skill level at reading the water. What an incredible tournament. In a 5 fish that would have never unfolded. Bpt brings a completely different skill, the skill to catch fish ALL day throughout different conditions. Compilled by the fact the fish were in transition. Amazing. I get it. I too love bass. Been a member for 20 years and will be at the classic. Has all bpt decisions been right or even morally correct? Nope. Has bass? Nope. At the end of the day this is a business. Just my opinion. Tight lines
Dudes unreal. What a talent. Ding!
I love this format. Congrats Jacob!
Ur on crack if u think this format is cool
I like it to why haul them in a live well all day

Ya the 99% release rate is SO bad. Catching 200 bass under 1 pound is SWEEET
Love the format! Especially after they raised the minimum for a scoreable bass to 2lb.
I know he didn’t win, but the Bass Fishing World has been disrespecting Bryan Thrift for too long. No doubt he’s one of the greatest anglers on the planet right now, along with Evers, and Wheeler.
That’s so true, he is one of the best right now. Kinda wish he would have gone to BASS because he would have done amazing.
This format will test the best we will see
Explain what did I miss??
For awhile now..straight stick
Who has been disrespecting Brian Thrift i thought almost everyone reapected him he is a hammer with about 12 wins under his belt made millions of dollars fishing let them call him what they want he will be on the top of the leaderboards weather they like it or not
Amazing day out there Jacob! Spinnerbaits was everyone's bait!
I’m glad Jacob won he’s definitely a stick for sure but Bryan Thrift is also the man and he knows how to get it done can’t wait to watch the rest of the season this year it should be interesting between these two badass fishermen.

Man the water Connell caught that 4.8 in is just my kind of water. My style of fishing right there chocolate milk mud
Hes a stick! Aahh Ding!
I like this format. With the refs weighing and quick release. But it would be cool if each person's total was shown on the screen.
This content is great.
fisherman : man its really cold out here today folks!
same fisherman: wears flip flops.
JW does it again! 🔔
That Bryan Thrift hookset.....love it
He sets the hook so hard, he turns a smallmouth into a largemouth!!
@@caseysmith9712 my buddy laughed at me....said I leave my feet, I need to refer him to thrift....he nearly leaves the boat!
@@theregoesone3225 I've been nearly hit by fish coming out of the water that my uncle has set the hook on!
@@caseysmith9712 hahahah I did that with a small spot at West Point Lake last year....I couldn't stop laughing
Wait. Did AJ say Seminole? He lock down or just confused?
