I went through part of the Q-Course with Jason, and served with him in a different BN in 10th Group. What he has built since leaving Group is very impressive. I really appreciate the opportunities he’s created for veterans. Transition is hard. Especially when you’ve spent most of your adult life in the army. I hope to find a mission like he has to continue to serve. Keep up the good work Jocko, Jason, and all the others involved in service.

“I went and traveled to South America for a couple of months after graduation but that gets old very quick... you don’t really find yourself when you’re somewhere else, it sort of just amplifies what you already know”...
damn if that isn’t true idk what is. People put too much emphasis on traveling after college or when you’re in your 20’s to “find yourself”, when in reality all you’re doing is delaying what you should and need to be doing. I love traveling but the whole idea of going somewhere abroad in order to find out your true purpose in life is extremely overrated imo. Most of the times I’ve traveled, I’ve come back feeling more depressed and lost than when I left lol

    • @LIFEwithLAM
      @LIFEwithLAM 5 років тому +3

      I'm with you!
Sometimes I feel like people travel under the guise of self-discovery when they're really just looking for an escape. I haven't travelled as much as I want to, but that's mostly because I've been home building the life I want to live, and my purpose for travelling is more about learning about other cultures than it is about learning about myself.
Still, sometimes some people need that distance to really see things clearly, so I guess if it works for them, it works for them!

I graduated from benning with bronchitis that I contracted less than halfway into my 12 week training cycle. I asked several times to see a doc and was accused of faking it, eventually they took me to a doc no tests and just gave me a bottle of nyquil.
I spent the last 7 weeks of training with fluid in my lungs and bloody scabs coming from my sinuses in the morning, one or two other guys got really sick too and also graduated.

My wife just let me know she ordered me some stuff from Origin Maine for Christmas. First time buyer.
She's got the run around from customer service and all they said was "it was delivered".
..And it was, to the wrong address, in the wrong state..
If anyone would have so much as LOOKED at where the package was delivered from the tracking number and compared it to the order/ship address.
It would have been easily seen what the mistake was.
That didn't happen. The only thing we've got after multiple emails is RADIO SILENCE.
I'd have to say, the overall experience is shit.
We've already begun the process of a charge back, so its not like I'm going to lose anything other than time.

What I want to know is where do you stand on the 2nd amendment? You can say you support and believe in it. However I haven’t heard you address the tyranny in Virginia yet. Will YOU stand against your own government when the time comes? Or will you become a statist and fall in line like a good boy? I’m former Army and I can tell you I swore that oath to uphold the Constitution; not to do the bidding of a tyrannical government who wants to de-arm the public.

"You have to countinue to provide support to that host nation. Because even once you mitigate the levels of violence as much as you can you need to make sure they're gone. And that takes a long time. It can take ten years, it can take 15 years. We're still in Germany."
Are you telling me there still are violent forces in Germany that need to be suppressed?
    That is ridiculous.

I hate when guys leave their dream job as an operator in the US military for a girl... just never seems to workout. It literally makes me cringe as he’s telling the story. It’s like watching a car slowly drive off a cliff. I just wish more guys would think it through more, but hey when you’re in love you got the blinders on and nothing else in the world seems to matter. I’ve been there. We’ve all been there in some way.
