Barbara Res: 'My name is Barbara Res and I worked at the Trump Organization in several different segments.
I was Executive Vice President in charge of construction development for several years.
I have very mixed feelings about Donald Trump which is amazing to me at this point after what he’s done.
I think he’s a terrible president and I think that he has done bad things for our country, that I’m sort of torn.
When I was hired by Donald Trump, I believe that he had a preference for powerful women When he interviewed me He told me I was a killer and I’m not a killer.
I don’t know if I would have stood there if he treated me as disparagingly and meanly as he treated some of the other employees.
We’d be at meetings with the architect engineers everybody and he would just put them down and blame them for anything that went wrong.
But he did not treat me like that. And the thing with him was that he sought out weakness found it he exploited it. And I often wondered why people took it.
It was an unusual thing for a woman to be involved in construction at all.
He said that, in his opinion, men were generally better than women but a good woman was better than ten good men.
And over time he would start to talk about how women chase him and famous women want him and stuff like that and it was a little unsettling. He was glaring and staring at women much more than he had been
And he treated all his wives as trophies as if their appearances were the most important attribute that they possessed.
But he was very very conscious of the way women looked and Even his own people that worked for him. You know He would ask well what do you think of my secretary, or what do you think of this one that just came on?
And one time interestingly I had gained a lot of weight. And I was in his office and he made a comment to me ‘Well you really like your Snickers,’ or something like that. I just, you know - he was telling me ‘you’re fat’ and He did he didn’t like fat people.
I see that he tends to respect people less and less. He tends to think of himself as being smarter and better than he did.
Now he talks about himself as a genius and he knows the generals and all this kind of thing. So I don’t know that he has a lot of respect for people anymore. I don’t think he has people skills at all. and I think that he gets upset and he just lashes out.
I think he thinks you can just say whatever he wants about anybody and get away with it and so far he’s been doing it.
When I worked for Donald back in the old days he used hyperbole a lot, I mean, tremendous.
If you get in the elevator at Trump Tower and you want to go to the top floor, which would be Donald’s apartment, you would press the button 66 that says 68
In fact it is 58. That is the number of stories in Trump Tower.
Now I see that I don’t know that he can tell the truth in terms of his knowledge of what’s right and what’s wrong. I think he says it and then he believes it.
I think he has a stunning combination of overconfidence and. Lack of confidence And I think he’s constantly proving himself to himself.
I had no clue that he would be as bad as he is. He’s totally out of control. I mean There is just absolutely nothing about his character that you could point to and say this is positive, this is a role model. I didn’t predict that. I didn’t know he would be as bad as he is.
He was not great, he was mean, he was difficult, he was self-aggrandizing, but he was a human being. And I have these attachment to him and our relationship that I’m trying to pull apart because I have to see him in a completely unbiased light.'

Also, I don't see how a person who has no exercise regimen, eats fast food daily, and doesn't start work until 11am has a place to criticize anyone for being fat.
Plenty of people comment on people who are better than they are. At this point he's more like a grandpa who should be retired.
He wasn't always that way and probably thought he never would be. But even now, he probably doesn't entirely SEE it. He probably knows he's a little overweight but thinks he looks better than he does.
Only people that are insecure themselves criticize others. They're showing their insecurities.
The worst part is he lied about his height in order to make people think he is not obese, which he could easily be, even if he isn't he is still fat. Such a hypocrite.

Sounds like a narcissist, for sure. The overconfidence is fake, bordering on delusional. They talk a big talk, make themselves out to be the best at everything, feed off of external validation... but inside, they're deeply insecure and like an empty vessel, incapable of self-validation. Trump behaves like a malignant narcissist, and Barbara Res' description of how he got much worse once president fits with how a malignant narcissist's behaviour typically escalates when they get power like that.

Did you see the one time Tiffany Trump came to visit her dad and she was going to accompany Trump to an engagement of some sort? I guess Tiffany had put on some weight (she looked perfect To me) and Donald Trump told his photographer not to take any pictures of Trump and Tiffany because he was ashamed of her? Some, maybe Donald Trump, told Tiffany that her father was embarrassed by her weight gain and that was the reason he refused to be photographed with his youngest daughter? It was awfully hard to watch because someone filmed Trump avoiding Tiffany. Meanwhile, Trump was so grossly overweight and so very unattractive but he doesn't see anything at all when it comes to himself.

phillysupra -- basically it's confirmation bias. The human brain is more likely to accept information that confirms things we already believe, and more likely to reject information (even proven facts) that go against something that we want to believe. If someone has decided a long time ago that they support Trump because he said so many things that appealed to them personally, then they want to cling to that belief that he'll do great things for them. For most people, it's incredibly difficult to be critically examining one's own beliefs and opinions and question whether you've been "led astray", so to speak. Most people simply cannot accept when they're wrong and/or have been fooled.

Wow. Kudos to Ms. Res. That seems like a fair and accurate assessment. It was about as generous and sympathetic as you can be about this guy.
This lady perfectly described Trump.
She comes over as authentic, insightful and smart. Her description sounds very precise, reflected and in unison with what I can observe from Trump in the news (be it „liberal“ or Fox). She described a narcissistic personality if ever there was one. But his narcissism seems to be combined with intellectual capacity in the low range of the norm, more a „90“ rather than a „114“. Still average, but only barely. A disastrous mix.

In light of investigations currently going on it is pretty possible that he was installed. As in the election was manipulated to put him in office. The facts are he didn't have the majority vote. He got in on the electoral college. The majority of the country did not want him in office.

This might be the single best interview of a former Trump confidant that I've seen. No major new news, but her honesty about still caring for him makes me believe her more than previous reports.
