- Our visit to Kensington Palace (Princess Diana's Home) & the Orangerie for afternoon tea. Outside the Orangerie is a sunken garden.
I adore Lady Diana because she was such a wonderful lady.. Fully watched and again repeated.. Love you Diana
So lovely
It takes me back to sad times.I remember walking along there with some beautiful lily's from myself and my boss.It was the start of a huge carpet of flowers.I've never been back.such a shame.Dearest Diana.🌻

@spencerdiana1961 - Agreed! Prince William has decided that it's where he wants to live though because of his happy memories of living there with his mom. I think he's planning on moving in 2013. Maybe that will make it less lonely.

@ApricotsMariska - Actually we were there in April, and they are doing alot of rennovation and put up the screens to hide it - they're rennovating for Kate and Will to move in. You can see in our video from April 2011, that the sunken gardens are still beautiful and we toured inside the palace and it was in good shape. :-)

@irishxxkelt - pretty nice right? It's around the back, near the visitor entrance but it's surrounded by hedges. :-)
@freefalln329 - We went for tea once and then again for breakfast. Highly recommend it. Great tea room! :-)

@szqsk8 - Well palaces aren't meant to be single family dwellings. For example in Buckingham Palace, there are currently apartments occupied by Queen Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Charles and his wife, Prince Andrew, his ex-wife and his two grown children.
Even if only one family was in the house, there would still be housing & offices for all the staff including guards, cleaning staff, accountants, groundskeepers, assistants, chefs, kitchen staff, etc. Still, it's good to be Royal.
It's like a special grand hotel for the loyal family to live together because it's so big and mavelous!!!
I was there again last month, left my white roses to the palace gate, had tea in a temporary building, the Orangeries is closed for repairs.
@irishxxkelt - lol True. The weather's nice, but I think anywhere you have to work 40-50 hours a week becomes a grind. :-p I live for my vacations. ;-)
I certainly understand why the Royal family leave on weekends and other times. Very few restful looking bedrooms. Red and gold walls and carpets aren't calming, either.
It could probably use an update.

Today, Kensington Palace canonizes Queen Victoria to the heights but very little of Princess Diana material is in there.

I visited Kensington Palace last month (May 2014), but I did not see the Orangerie. Where is it by the way? Cheers!
I can't post a link here, but if you go to google maps and search for "Kensington Palace near Greater London, United Kingdom", it shows the grounds and points out the Orangery. However, that's not it's actual location, the marker for the Orangery appears to be the ticket entrance. The Orangery is actually that lone rectangle building north of the "Kensington Palace Royal Museum in state residence" mark on the page. There is a tree-lined road in the middle that goes directly to the entrance. (You can see the trees and the building if you click on "satellite", or "earth")
In my opinion
@irishxxkelt - Closer to 40 every week now, it used to be 12 hrs a day (8a-8p). I work in the TV/Film industry and they like "dedicated" people. lol

This may be a difficult thing for some people to understand, but Diana wasn't the only member of the Royal Family. It has been a royal residence since King William III in the late 17th century and many people, with a more important impact on history than her have lived there.

Terrible Don't know how you had the nerve to put it on YT have you ever filmed before?
Well, you might notice it was filmed nearly 10 years ago and it's been one of our most popular videos. I like that you can see what it was like before Will and Kate moved in and especially because of the kids playing in the park etc...I find it charming, but hey....I made it.... so that's a biased opinion. :-)
