Looks great Brad and Deb In your wood chip experiment section, why not try planting something in there this year? I would think it would work similar to using plastic, diminishing weeds from growing. Just a thought! GOD Bless You Both

Great job guys!!! Next time plant your corn in a block of at least 3/4 rows because corn is wind pollinated and with 1 row the pollination will not be very good.
That "hiller" takes experimentation to figure out your optimal width, angle, and depth of the discs. The other thing would be cultivating or weeding between rows and/or tines reducing compaction. You'll streamline your process more every season.

Nice looking garden! Those implements did a great job!
Gardens are so much work!
They certainly are!!! But the payoff is worth it! - especially with such fine homestead tools! 😜🥰@@PineyGroveHomestead
Love Piney Grove content with Brad and Mrs Piney Grove! They both work so hard and are making great progress. Thanks for sharing!
Deb was so over this garden but now as things are growing she's loving it! She's out there right now.

Oh yeah, the lasagna method!
@@PineyGroveHomestead you got it! mines the noodles and cheese and meat sauce!

We planted a few onions in there. Just didn't get time to put a row of something....maybe this fall?!
Looks good, Brad, did you have a home truck patch when you were a kid?
Not sure what that is? But I had a lot of dirt and mud to play in!
@@PineyGroveHomestead A one acre garden for family food. A lot of work.

@@PineyGroveHomestead Yep, we called that the truck patch and after that it's hard to get excited about gardens.
Now you going to test your soil before planting PH, will need to be 6.5 to 7.0 are close.
I'm sure it will need lime although the weeds are still growing in those chips!

Thanks for the tip! Didn't think of that!
Looks good but after you makes the hill nock the top off and put the plastic down and widen the hiller and let that put the soil on the edges
Thanks for the tips. We need to make the beds wider!
