I thought about these, but had to buy Focal ISU 165 instead. With only 55mm of mounting depth I didn't find a better choice in that price range. Also these speakers will be playing from head unit, so high sensitivity was priority. And filters - I don't want any invasion into original wire harness of the car, so big and bulky filters was a no-go.

Fred can you tell what frequency i should use for the mid and tweeter of the Steg ST650C if i run it active? would be awesome, it is for a MK7 Golf Estate if this matters. I was thinking 50hz up for mids and 3khz for tweeter? thanks

Both Hertz and Audison decided not to use dust caps. Hetz Uno K165: "V-Cone, better dispersion, blah blah blah". I bought them for the sake of experiment (mainly because they're cheap, paper and efficient). Tweeters suck (plastic dome, every time there's a drum plate I want to turn off the radio), woofers suck (no bass, mid is OK but the V-Cone's "awesome dispersion" hurts my ears A LOT). I was thinking Audison might do better. Once I went to a car audio shop and the guy told me "buy Steg SQ650C". And here the same. I'm going for it. Thanks for good advice!

@@frednsound thanks, much appreciated! I have a feeling that the world is going backwards. Back in the 80's in Poland we used to have only one choice of speakers. But they were amazing. Now we can get anything we want, but it takes ages to find something decent

I purchased this not very satisfactory kit while listening to techno music, I installed a sub:

not very satisfactory, the car speakers, as if they were distorting them as never before, the installers did not recommend an amplifier to me, they told me that there is no need for it. Explain to me why I distorted the sound by raising the volume ..?
Cristian Sava hi, Audison speakers subs never sounds good, they are shallow, and thin, but you should not distort as you say, first, your stock headunit have low power for sure, you need to get quality amp, and good level input from your head/player, so you have enough juice to run your speakers system, thanks for watching

how are these wired? the tweeter each taking a channel at the amp? Because there is no shared Mid and Tweeter crossover like normal 2 way speakers.
Desmond PC hi, 2ch amplifier powering them, this set comes with separate crossovers for mids and tweeters, so each have inputs, you just connect all input together, the outputs will change according the crossover points, thanks

Desmond PC 2ch amp have left and right, each side have 2 leads -/+
Each side with it’s 2 leads will connect together to the 2 crossovers inputs (mid and tweeter crossovers) for the outputs each crossovers will connect to what it needs, the total out of 2 crossovers each side will be 4 leads, 2 for tweeter + 2 for mids, thanks

Desmond PC this is how all crossovers works, that is why active is the best way to go, if you like to power them with 4ch you can as well 2 ch for each crossovers, thanks

I have for an long time struggled to try and liked the sound of my Audison APK 165. I own B&W house speakers and love the sound. I am constantly looking for the same soundquality but its hard to find. The closest I've come are the SEAS lotus's old car speakers. And during all this testing with different speakers and different filters, I tried Audison APK 165 on the Seas lotus's filter. Then it became like and get new speakers with twice as nice sound. Clearer and warmer sound. Looking forward to further research in this area. Thanks from Morten Jørgensen. norway

You can’t listen to speakers in a free air setting and really determine the sound quality, especially midbass performance. The Audison Voce won best in-car speakers years back for a reason. The Voce component set is very good, esp since you can find them for around $350-400 usd.
And based on the videos these sound better than the STEG st650c 3 way set posted a few days ago.

MrJAANUBOND bro, let me explain better, if a company make great amps (used too today all is China and lower quality) and try speakers and it’s just not it, they should stick with amps, (as zapco) but to make profit for the company they use the “good name” and keep making speakers it’s just doesn’t worth the investment, sure there many type of listener, for that money you can get double performance and better sounding , at high levels as thesis speaker it’s a waste of money the speaker looks very nice but doesn’t perform as need too, after testing so many types of amps speakers subs I can say Audison speaker are not quality or good sounding , thanks

Need some advice, i plan to change my car speakers and was thinking at Focal VW IS 180 plug&play system but someone adviced me to use these Audison APK165 instead. What do you think? I plan to use the car standard system, so no extra filters, amplicators..
