I feel bad for all the people who are effected. What a traffic nightmare!
affected (you're welcome)
The traffic on 95 and 895 are now HORRIBLE. Traffic is backed up so far. Even 295 is completely congested from backup of traffic. Something has to be done to improve rushhour traffic through the tunnels.
No, people should adjust their schedule, and if you can't you're stuck. What do you suggest be done? Baltimore commuters will adjust.
Some of these trucks may not have any choice but to go through the city because they may be too large for the tunnels or they may be transporting materials that’s not allowed in the tunnels.
I would think they'd use the beltway, but yea, some will go thru town.
Oh no a giant drilling machine just collided with the tunnel 😮
Clairvoyant.
So now all traffic will be directed to the tolls ? Wow lol.
I thought the Key Bridge was more expensive than the tunnels
@@BuIIet Not for cars, and it's all EZ pass. For trucks it's higher.
@@BuIIetThe two tunnels (Baltimore Harbor and Fort McHenry) and the Key Bridge had the same toll rates, with variations for vehicle class (cars pay less than commercial trucks).
Few people actually pay tolls anymore. It’s all EZPass if you are a frequent traveler.
Key bridge has a toll. So nip this conspiracy theory with a simple fact, oh that’s right you maga morons don’t bother with facts
According to google search engine not one person ever posted a dashcam video going across key bridge? Ever
When was the last time a bridge was hit by a ship and torn down? Anywhere.
There are 7 that I could find with a Google search.
Chances are probably higher than winning a lottery jackpot.
1977 Ship of fools hit the Bridge of Sighs look it up
Tasmania 1975
Tampa 1980s had a very similar ship collision, greyhound almost went over the side
Tractor trailers carrying common goods or non hazardous materials are allowed through the Harbor Tunnel, but trucks carrying hazardous materials such as gasoline, propane, etc will have to find another way to get to their destination. It looks like 895 will be the way I'm going once I schedule my Lyft trip to Middle River this year. I will probably go around May or June at the latest.
I have always wondered what would happen in Albuquerque, a major city bisected by the Rio Grande, if even a single river crossing fell (one very nearly did). Of the six crossing in ABQ, all become parking lots at rush hour.
unfortunately being a western city and newer development wise, Albuquerque is very car centric, also because its in the desert
@@circleinforthecube5170 Historically, also because the west side was mostly new housing development with employment on the east side of the river, but that is slowly changing on the west side with the likes of Amazon and the new solar factory.
@@jul1440 also because its the desert, why did we build a city where its boiling hot all year around
@@circleinforthecube5170 Its not; Albuquerque is in a cold semi-arid environment with a max high of around 100 and min high of around 25, but mostly in the range of 55-85. It has very pronounced rainy and dry seasons (monsoons) and less pronounced temperate seasons (spring, etc.).
You said all the traffic will be diverted to toll implying there’s some sort of conspiracy to take traffic off a non toll road and divert it to a toll road for the revenue. They are all toll and have the same toll amount. How does the payment method change anything?
You can always take 695 west around the city………if you don’t mind an extra 2 hours each way for your commute!
Surely we don’t want the traffic to be absorbed.
In 27 years of living here, I used the bridge one time. There's tons of alternate routes and can't we do without some of the junk on these ships?
Some manufacturers can't.
I cross no bridges in my day to day life.
Try Wait, the bridge I BUILT over my koi pond 20 years ago I still use daily,
So you went from spontaneously proclaiming that you don’t cross any bridges in your daily life to admitting that you cross a bridge that you yourself built every single day. What a radical revision.
@@bigpicturethinking5620 I don't drive over it, and *I* built it. So I know it's built to last 500 years.
Where does all that toll money MDTA brings in go to?
Maintenance of two tunnels and the bridge.
Diversity initiatives.
@@bigpicturethinking5620Don't you think it inappropriate to use this disaster for your hate filled propaganda trash?
I feel like this should be said: Batman takes that tunnel into work.
Does Batman have a big one to play down south with.
Im gonna make a fortune with magic carpet rides across the river
Grandpa, you are doing everything right! You are confidently leading the country to collapse! Keep it up Joe, you are a real sailor, even though you sometimes fall down the stairs
They couldset up ferry connections.
For 30,000 cars?
@@1972Ray Not for all of them, of course. But they might take some load of the remaining routes. Every bit helps.
All the person-hours wasted.
I travelled this 1990 -it was questionable then -
You re,e,her going across a bridge 24 years ago?
The bridge? No it wasn't.
Time to get some borrowed fairies and them on their ways!!!!
the tunnel could be a real nightmare, looks like if a car even stalled,, just need flying cars just like the Jetsons,, plenty of room for even the craziest drivers,, probably much easier to swerve and miss a wreck happening LOL have a nightmare commuting 😢
Flying cars would be worse because they could fly into buildings and stuff, also if they crash that’s likely to be fatal
tens of thousands will work from home PERMANENTLY..... so no need to waste billions building a 6-8 lane super highway bridge...but THEY WILL
Trucks still need to go across… Also Amazon’s main warehouse is right there. Not everyone can work from home
Can Biden take the train through the tunnel like he did across the bridge?
Yes, Jack! Also Biden piloted a logging barge through the Tacoma river in the 30s right after he got out of trucking.
Get rid of the tolls to free up traffic
They are removing the toll booths at the Harbor tunnel, they're already gone at the FT McHenry tunnel and the Key bridge.
Alice day April 25th I, PET GOAT II in full effect l👀k it up you're welcome🫡
