Drew, you had the opportunity to say you were taking us on a Lamy safari and you didn't go for it! 😂
I now want an entire, Lamy themed, Mario castle. Little Lamy ink bottles slamming down from the ceiling. Chasms to leap with deadly Lamy nibs at the bottom. Pools of Lamy ink to avoid. And Drew's "Lamy Lamy Lamy" song over it all.

I've been using the Wearingeul swatch cards for a couple of years, and I can confirm that the paper is wonderful for showcasing the properties of the ink. I prefer the individual cards to using a notebook because it's easy to re-organise them, grouping by colour for example. Drew, you might see if you can source the Wearingeul "cheshire cat" swatch cards; it's so much fun watching the cat appear.
We considered those (we did get some samples) but decided to start with these to see how they did! - Drew

The Scala is certainly not a ‘jade’ color, but is a really good, overlooked Lamy pen. With the gold nib, it is very tempting.
If Lamy makes a Studio, in true semi translucent jade (swirling shades of whiteish, green, yellow, and light blue), it would be fantastic. Hoping for a true luminous T53 Jade ink too.
If we listen to each others hearts, we’ll find we’re never too far apart. And maybe love is the reason why, for the first time ever, we’re seeing it eye to eye.

Got the Aion in fine. If you like safari nibs and 2000 ergos, it’s a great fit.

I have that Wearingeul ink sample notebook! Love it and am excited to log this year’s Inkvent inks as they’re revealed.
Have to say I love the Aion, and Lamy's comittment to snapcaps. I don't understand why not more companies embrace that. for me that use my pens for just quick notes on post-it notes, snap caps is the only practical option. Having to screw off the top on other pens for sometimes only writing 2 words is what keeps me from buying them.

Hi Drew!: Thanks for the look at new items! The ink swatch books are really interesting! It's nice that Lamy is starting to put some color in their pens other than the safari! That Kool Konvertible Kaweco Supra is pretty interesting, too! I have one of the Edison Premiere pens, and it is one of my favorites! So light and airy!

for the 2023 Scala, Lamy says on their website "Fountain pen with 14 ct. gold nib, polished, partially platinum, nib grade F." Platinum! Wow!
Liking the Wearingeul binder! My ink collection is just this side of getting out of control. Picking up bottles, holding them up to the light, muttering "What color are you?" Oo-wee, that Scala is dreamy....

I had never seen a Kaweko Supra's nib in person beforehand. My stationary store just got them in and I was blow away by how big they are! I'll have to give it a try eventually, I do already love the Sport-size nibs. Also, your Edison Premiere Dragoness is stunning! 🤩

I can’t get over the material of the Edison pen, it’s so amazing. I’ve just regretted too many pretty pens that somehow dry out the way I use fountain pens so I’m trying to resist 😭

I currently have the Studio in dark brown inked up with violet. I was apparently so excited to get writing with it that I didn't even notice the converter in the box.
I am ever wanting a texture and color like that of the new Scala for the Studio. The Studio is a sleek proffesional pen but look how cool it looks on the Scala! Can I also get a laquer red with that texture? Oooh just got goosebumps..
I have a Studio in Olive green. Beautiful pen. The SS nib was “meh” but I swapped it for a 14 k nib and it is one of the nicest pens I own. It writes like a dream.
Same here. Totally transformed that pen. Planning to get this pink one as well. And do the same again. Gold nib amendment. 😊

I somehow totally missed that you always wear a graphic tee in the 'What's New' videos but a buttoned shirt in during the Pencast. I notice it now though, mostly because of that absolutely incredible Goofy Movie shirt.

I grabbed a Dragoness SO FAST. Considering using one of the holo shimmer Nebula inks from Colorverse in it, they’ve got that same pale, shifting, magical vibe that the pen does.

Have you seen Pilot “Long-Short” (also called “Telescoping/Telescopic”) fountain pen ? It had the feature which this Supra provides a few decades ago ! More importantly, we don’t need to remove the middle section entirely to make it short !

The Aion and the Scala are gorgeous. The Studio has that regrettable clip. I really like the Aion and will probably buy one.

I own two Scalas and two Aions and the Aquamarine Studio. I prefer the Scala the most out of the three. Underrated pen.
The Studio clip is my favourite for the Leuchtturm journal pen loop.
I seem to be in the minority, but I love it... it's divisive, but if you like the look, it's highly functional
Did you notice that the logo on the clips of the Aion and 2000 don't have the same orientation?
I haven’t bought a new pen in a couple of years. I prefer black, silver, or demonstrator pens and they appear to be ‘out of fashion’ currently (with the exception of the Supra and Aion featured here). All the new pens I’ve seen lately are all brightly colored and, honestly, feminine. Alas, I suppose it’s for the better, as I’ve picked up another expensive hobby-fidget toys (sliders and spinners)! IYKYK

I really wish Lamy would just use the rubberized grip section that comes on the Brushed Stainless Steel Studio on all Studio colors. The shiny metal fingerprint-magnet grip
section gives me anxiety.

Does the new Aion still suffer from a rattly cap?
Yes, it does. I don´t really understand why they do not fix it. If I can fix it so easily with a small stripe of scotch tape inside of the cap, I´m sure Lamy would be able to solve this. Other than that, the Aion is one of my favorite pens. Have it in 4 colours now, It´s perfect for me and my hand.
I already have two Aions (Olive silver and the SE dark green). I wonder if it’s possible to buy a 14k nib replacement for the pens. I ask because the Aion’s nib is shaped differently and I do not want the nibs (and that shape) found on the Safari & Co.
21:27 does the kaweko supra accept a convertor?
In its full-size mode, yes! In its compact mode, it's cartridge-only. - Drew
