I have been having a heck of a time just trying to login to the web interface. Could you go over the switch settings needed in order to use SSH to access?
It looks like an improvement considering my old Catalyst items and the amount of Meraki stuff I have. I'll be digging into a 9300 stack setup soon to know more.
Are there options for setting user permissions/privileges? I would like to create rules for some users to make Vlan mapping changes, create LACP connections and be able to allow some monitoring without systems engineer support.

How does the save config to NV-RAM work, does it work by just clicking "Save & Apply to device",or only save to Running-config? How to save to NV-RAM via Web GUI or only can be done via CLI.
You can certainly still can use the CLI. I want to say yes to AD integration as well but it would likely be through Radius integration which is standard on Cisco networking devices across the board.
I have mixed environment of 9000 series switches including the 9300 and although I can reach the webgui and login ok I only see dashboard and monitoring menus, even the monitoring is limited to the switch hardware info. Does anyone know how I can get all these other features to configure and manage the switch?
@@TheTechCatalyst I was trying with root credentials which i assumed did have level 15 access by default. Now adjusted the config and it works. Thanks a million!
@@mrabbasi9403 you need to do it from the cli, set the root credentials with level 15. Should look something like "username root privilege 15" and complete the line with the secret parameters
hi there I have a C9200L-48T-4X-E switch, when i powered-on the switch, i plugged the console cable and accessed the CLI using "Putty". So, i skipped the initial configuration mode by [No], so i gave the sw a hostname and assigned an IP address to the interface VLAN 1. and so, when i am trying to access to the web-interface using the vlan 1 interface it needs a username and password that i haven't. i tried "cisco" as a username, and sw SN as a password but i couldn't assess. i also tried the Day 0 username "webui" and password serial number but i couldn't assess too. so please help
@@mohammadfathy8139 did this work for you? A vendor configured our switch and I have the same issue. I can access the switch through putty but can't access through the webui using the same username and password that works for logging in for CLI through putty. I'm stuck on the Cisco webui credentials screen.

Who would use this GUI? Is it good enough to replace the CLI for at least some config or monitoring tasks??
The UI is similar to the ISR 4331; it's decent but doesn't give much information for what it is in my opinion.

I would have to try it with Cisco privilege level commands from the CLI...

You need previledged admin access credentials. sort of a root account.

Do you have full level 15 access? If not that might be why...

You will need to configure the username / password manually. Try:
username admini privilege 15 secret
password being your password then.

The reason for this is probably that the privilege lever for the user account you're using is not high enough. A full admin would be level 15
