Wow really! I didn't know. A few years ago I met a couple from Mauritius but they both spoke French. There are at least a couple more countries (St. Lucia and Dominica) that I know about where the citizens can speak creole similar to Haitians.

A Creole language is language that was when two different languages get together, influence each other and gives birth to a THIRD language totally different from the two previous ones. Besides, the Creole should be the vernacular language of a community otherwise it would be a Pidgin ( with the same functionality of a creole ; it has no linguistic community). Thus, there are many Creoles or Creole languages in the world. Not because they are all called * CREOLE * that they have the same phonological, morphological and syntactic structure. For example, Haitian Creole is from the mixture of African Tongues and French. But, Haitian is not broken French neither broken African Dialects. It is a language of its own. In the United States in the State of Louisiana, there is a Creole language there. It's a mixture of French and English. The other question is more political. Hi you can use both kijan or kòman for how. Some people also say kouman for how. Some people write kijan with one word and others do ki jan. But it's mostly written as one word with no space, kijan.
