Yay! I need this so bad...I'm black American and my husband is Haitian and need to learn because our kids will not be like some I see down here in Florida with Haitian parents yet they barely know an ounce of creole, nope I will learn and so will my kids.
Brother I am from lake Charles, Louisiana and I let my father, mother and grandmother listen to this and they were telling me what you were saying before you did this blew my mind. Needless to say I dont know my history or the creole history but this blew my mind. I have been knowing creole phares all my life but until I ran across this and others on UA-cam I had no idea that the language you speak and my family speak were the same. My great grandmother I NEVER heard her speak a word of English NEVER. When she died I was in my 20's. My mother and father always translated when we went visit. Both set of my grandparents were fluent in creole and my mother and father. WOW!!! My grandmother is 91 years old and when I let her listen to this it put a BIG smile on her face. Thanks for the video.
I pick up languages easily and I made some Haitian friends where I live and wanted to learn to speak the Haitian creole language. I was quite well at French. I took it 4 years in high school. So creole is very similar. Maybe that's another reason why it's been easy to pick this up. But my friends were so impressed with how much I learned in one day from this video and that I was able to pronounce everything correctly and I only watched this video once. Thanks so much for creating content like this!
This was very helpful for me as I'm marrying a Haitian man. Those family gatherings get crazy when they all talk at the same time so I'm going to surprise them with a few words of my own. I'm making a chart of all my new words and reading it during my morning routine.....thank you
Wonderful to hear! It’s good to take such a proactive approach to learning Kreyòl. Keep it up and you’ll be speaking and surprising your in-laws in no time at all. Bon bagay nèt zanmi.
This was so informative! The Haitian community is growing and I work aside a great people. Understanding basic language is essential to building the needed relationships here in America. We are one people! ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Muchas gracias maestro. Espero y siga haciendo tan maravilloso trabajo. Mèsi.
Muchas gracias a usted mi amigo. Es un placer para mí hacer estos vídeos. Aprecio su comentario. Eso me da el deseo de hacer más vídeos. Estoy de acuerdo con usted en que tenemos mucho en común. Saludos.
Excellent video! I'm half Haitian-American (5 generations) but, I only know a few words in Kreyol. My cousins are forced to speak English or French for me to understand. I no longer live near them but, when I next visit, I want to be able to keep up with them, no matter what language they switch to. And I'd like for my kids to have a connection to Haiti beyond the food I make (which is nothing compared to what I remember) and the phrase "Pas fe sa", LOL! Sadly, I've not found Haitians nor Haitian food near me. I'm using Pimsleur to learn but, decided to surf UA-cam to see what I could find. I think this video is the best I've seen. I'm very impressed with how much info you packed into this video. I've got it on repeat now. And, of course, I've subscribed
I want to run off to New Orleans one day... I want to visit Haiti as well. I don’t know how far my roots dig through to these spaces but they resonate with me and I need to speak freely to my people. Mesi anpil!
There are a lot of creoles that's in America not just only Louisiana. You also have Gullah creoles and I'm creole my DNA test show Jamaica Kingston Caribbean. Nigerian and congolese. chinese and a little french. I believe all creoles in America should learn Haitian creole.
I didn't know what "M ap boule" literally meant (just thought it meant something like I'm pushing through) and I already thought it sounded really cool and now it sounds even cooler.
Thank you so much for this valuable content! I just started on my Haitian Creole journey, so I am your new subscriber. Your style of teaching is so simple. Is it okay to say, "Kijan ou rele?" and "Kijan ou ye?" Instead of using "Koman"? What is the difference?
linguaphile. Thank you for your kind comment. Yes you can use both "kòman" and "kijan" interchangeably. All the best with your language learning journey!
Thank you new subscriber. I was wondering if you could do videos on like vegitables or how to say can you make me goat meat? like the foods like how to say fish or meet tomato potato stuff like that

Pale non. Speak no! We use the English language the same way in the "English" speaking islands of the Caribbean. When we say "Speak, no.[?]" it is 100% equivalent to the sentence in Haitian Creole!!
Edd P. I’m sorry Sir but it’s called Creole. Sometimes we say Creole Haitian because Haiti is not the only country where people speak Creole. And Creole Haitian is not the same as the others. They might be similar but not the same.
Landie Saintil That is clearly the lasting effect of French colonial brainwashing. After independence and liberation. Some of us refused to be identified as Haitian citizens or Men . Instead some newly (Haitians citizens) still preferred referencing themselves as property of their former plantation and continued referring to Haiti as Saint Domingue for generations.
New subbie! I’m a proud Haitian-American who’s learning to speak Haitian creole fluently! ☺️

I'm glad to hear that. Just curious, does your family speak Haitian Creole or the Louisiana Creole (Kouri vini)? All the best to your family!

Thank you for the suggestion. I will do a video in the future on Haitian foods and how to say fruits and vegetables in Haitian Creole.
Hi need some help with a word. ELEMENT. How is it spelled and what does it sound like?
“Eleman”. Sounds approximately like: eh-leh-muh.
Am starting my journey learning Haitian. I appreciate the video. How do I get more and is there another way other than PayPal to support?
Like, share, subscribe. All the best in your learning journey.
Thank you 🙌💋💯💓💞
Bon bagay!
Mèsi
Y’all cute as all heck ❤❤❤❤
Dear Sir,
I am from Bangladesh.
How to say BOSS in Haitian creole
Say: “Patwon”. The “on” is an open nasal vowel so the “n” at the end is not pronounced.
Mèsi
Yo. This is the language that the Belters were speaking in The Expanse. I thought they made it up.
Lmfaooo
That’s interesting. Tell me more about that.
🤯
Good job👍👍
Great job, do you offer online creole course!?
Not yet. God willing in the future depending on interest levels.
Thank you
Thanks . I mean meci zommie mwen !
Se mwen ki pou di w mèsi zanmi. I should be the one saying thanks friend.
Does w = ou .
Is it my ears or are the both prononced differently.
They are the same. "W" is supposedly a contraction of "ou", like "n ap mache" is a contraction of "nou ap mache", but it really is just identical
‘Ou’ sounds like “oo”. ‘W’ is just the w sound. Hope that helps.
my kids are learning creol
Kijan or Koman is ok we?
You can use either.
Mesi !!
Nou pare pou’n aprann
Thank you Fé. Your videos are an inspiration. Mèsi zanmi pa m. Keep up the good work!
Mesi un pile , map apran creole kouniya

Thanks my friend. Thank you for the advice.
Lol
beautiful baby
The Haitian language is NOT creole
Edd P. What is it?
Landie Saintil The Haitian language is called “Haitian”
Edd P. I’m sorry Sir but it’s called Creole. Sometimes we say Creole Haitian because Haiti is not the only country where people speak Creole. And Creole Haitian is not the same as the others. They might be similar but not the same.
Edd P. I got you but I’m Haitian myself, I never heard a Haitian call our language Haitian. Anyways I got your point.

Instead some newly (Haitians citizens) still preferred referencing themselves as property of their former plantation and continued referring to Haiti as Saint Domingue for generations.
Awesome work!! Thank you so much!
