#sleepcore #retrofuturism
I’m currently watching this on my CD ROM shoulder pads.
That prune ad with Ray Bradbury is one of the finest advertisements I've ever seen.
"The future ain't what it used to be." Sums it pretty nicely. 🚀
I really don't say this enough at all. But you make extremely radically dope content man.
"Radically dope content" best description ever :-) ha ha ha
Indeed.
For sure
I cant tell weather your a boomer, or a sarcastic gen z, but either way, that's a great description xD
@@thedaggonator Thanks lol. I'm Gen X.
going to refer to my phone as a personal data terminal now.
You should. The 'phone app is the least used app
Imagine living in a world that the future looks bright
"wearable computers" part - we watched in the office. it was lol, like good comedy movie. Instead of thinking about developing new tech, people thought, how to attach all the existing devices to the clothes. Good that they used CD-ROM and not Vinyl.
This channel is the strongest argument I've seen so far for a second monitor.
I've worked from home since 2014.
if you're gonna start thinking of "retro" after just 30 years (LOL) ya may as well start pushing for the world of Logan's Run!
Dude the Pontiac Stinger looks sick
Just browsing late at night looking for inspiration for a retro dystopian game I'm working on and good god man this channel is a gift
How's the game coming along?
Your celebration of the medium of TV is one of the highlights of UA-cam. You're inspired.
I think absolutely everything in that "wearable computer" line was replaced by the cellphone.
Love everything about your channel. Content, editing, storylines...Thanks!
Man, it's _always_ the central diode.
For a second I thought Future Cop Michael Shannon was the Boardwalk Empire Michael Shannon.
Whoever wrote that script didn't have a clue about electronics.
Great content for comparison from past to present. Crazy how long ago the technologies of today were conceived. Not always advances for the good of mankind...
I love how these are all geared toward working more
Dude your videos are too awesome and far too interesting to sleep to. Find myself always watching the whole thing. You create this time travel feeling. Like I'm sitting in the past watching tv.
This stuff is beyond reality for sure. Computer cloths is the funniest thing I've seen in awhile. Keep up your channel please. It's original mind numbness...love it!
trackballs are the future! Literally everything will have trackballs!
Super nice compilation again. I like your editing style
nobody will ever wear a laptop. Funny that nobody thought of just small touch screen computers
Arthur C Clark did in 1968 for 2001 a space odyssey
They did. The Knightridder tablet was prototyped in 94.
Star Trek TNG had PADD tablet computers (conceptually -- for filming they had to print out the screen content onto foil).
@@durrcodurr Also, around about 2000 I had an Ipaq 5550 which was effectively a smartphone without the phone.
Biometric fingerprint access ✅
News apps ✅
GPS ✅ (GPS sleeve accessory)
Full length movies on SD card ✅
Games (Doom, Tomb Raider etc) ✅
So society had thought of that long before I was using it. I used it, because I knew it was futuristic due to seeing the tech in media. I knew it’s what phones would become. Others didn’t understand what it was, nor would they believe me. “I won’t watch a movie on something that fits in my palm.”
“Im not reading news on something that small.”
“I’m not taking directions from a talking machine!”
Oh yeah?
This is my new favorite channel.....!!!
cd rom shoulder pads lmfaoooo
The Pontiac Stinger looks so cool !! I wish I had one. Then I can be the ultimate Beach Douche Bag that all the ladies can love.
Hell yeah you'd be makin them basic bitches moist af! As long as you also gots this drip here @3:05
I found your channel about a week ago. I really really enjoy it.
Amazing how the smartphone made all the computer clothes completely irrelevant
Another killer set. I am addicted
Me in 1990: That Pontiac Stinger looks pretty cool
GMC in 2000: We now debut the Pontiac Aztec
Me: ummmmmm
The Aztec was so ugly and cost so much, it is what killed the Pontiac label.
@@markjeffels3327 the road to a car brand going out of business are paved with good intentions! lol
If they just made the stinger it probably would’ve sold well considering everything built in, as long as it wasn’t crazy expensive
Also call me weird but I don’t mind the look.... don’t get me wrong it is ugly and I wouldn’t buy it but there are ways they could’ve made it look better
The Stinger sort of reminds me of those weird Polaris Slingshots.
The green future car is wonderful.
WOW ... memories !!!!!!!! I still have the original article about the Pontiac Stinger! I had never seen the video .... still dream of building one of these. Another great video !!!!!!!!!
Lol Never knew that the great Ray Bradbury did an ad for prunes!
That corvette... just take my money!!!!
Do it, you can get a nice c4 vette for 5k now
No better channel on UA-cam IMO!!
These videos are oddly relaxing. Thank you.
in the past, even the old times were better.
a prima channel. _ TanX and cheers.
"You can work even when you've left the office". How very Japanese. Work like a drone non- stop, till the day you die.
More Chinese
nah, thats the entire 1st world, people continue to work on laptops at home n stuff
In Japan it is an honor to die on the job. A dishonor to die doing nothing.
Some people have lives outside of their job .This whole presentation for combining the human body with the computer is so creepy and wrong, not to mention at this particular time, incredibly uncomfortable for the body making it less mobile
@@pinkkam which I'm doing right now. LOL
"I didn't mention prunes in any of my stories, never. I'm sorry to be so candid..." @10:10
That Corvette still looks great today.
As a DEVO fan i'm loving this....
please don’t stop posting retro
Can't wait. The future looks bright.
That Pontiac Stinger was way ahead of it's time without a doubt.
Excellent work here. This material so obscure.
I absolutely adore these videos. You must have put so much effort in. Just to help me sleep. Problem is, it’s just so interesting that I often don’t! Please keep up the good work!
Okay, not gonna lie... if they sold the Stinger in Cherry Red- totally get one.
The wearable computer segment was so cursed 💀
19:40 "First, let me get a snack from the vending machine."
"Hmmm which computer am I gonna wear today??" 🤔
"No need to stop work, just because you left the office!" A dream come true for all humans!
"All updated 16 times every second"
LOL 16hz display would give me a headache.
that is SLOW AS FUCK!!!!
LOL
Great video again! You help me sleep. Quick question: What is the music called on the Leisure 2000?
Lesson for companies is never showcase your products not ready for sale.
I love this guy.!. He could pass for Jerry Louise so funny
They're running the future!
Every time I hear " in the not too distant future", I start singing the MST3K theme.
8:11 The Corvette add is so daft punk!
If only they knew about the Internet and micro processor boom of the 90's.
That first film is Retro-Retro Futurism
Cell phones said check mate to the whole pc body segment 😂
lol those computers like geez man what we have now is way better than what they imaged. smartphones and ipads
even apple watches
The spherical spaceship was one designed by Ulinski and was propelled by electricity.
1:58 … watching this on my computer that fits in my pocket and more advanced than anything they had at the time
That patient is already a cyborg.
Steel Industry, in Gary and Detroit? When was this recorded?
21:15 This song slaps
1:57 You mean the cell phone?
Robert Lee needs its own video. The discussion in the comments would be interesting.
I love that the old concept is waaaay cooler than the crappy car they show in the "present."
90s Lady - Bulky computers are a thing of the past, you gotta wear this sh*t!
2021 - Bulky computer goes brrrrrrrrrrr....
1:45 not sure If that fashion is what i'd call fabulous!
Parquer , Marquer et mis au travail !!! ...
28:13 it's 2021 and where is this "Sleep Machine"?
11:30 my favorite part
Can you please give me the source/link of original cover pic of this video?

@@picsnportraits some unbelievable, superb contents here. Thanks🌹
20 to 25 hour work weeks 🤣
i want a pontiac stinger!
NEO would love this 😀 🤣.
3:55 hilarious how they thought faxing would still be used in the future
Per the last segment's interview forecasts. Time has shown that under the persisting situation, enabling people to be more human turns out to be incompatible with 21st Century market economy elite driven political criteria...
And of course, what happened to the national influence of organized labor? What orchestrative money-property elite political block subsequently dominates unfettered? Oh yes... Sleep.
Stinger is a good way to get robbed pretty quick.
So many keyboards. Futurists did not see much future in voice recog as at the time it seemed almost impossible. That was the case right up until a few years ago. Even today Assistant and Siri will fail, but the day will come, and soon, when AI's are better at understanding spoken language better then we do.
Id almost feel sorry for them if i could stop laughing for long enough!!
👍👍👍
Wow so many of these things have happens or are happening.
5:00 The inventors got so caught up in making a wearable tech, they forgot to consider *who* it would be for. It looks more "movie prop" than plausible idea.
5:55 postmodern ambulance officer)
Love the content of your channel.
However, it is a shame that someone finds these videos boring and uses them to sleep.
Cyberpunk 2077 medic team wear
Tracey Curro is one gorgeous gall from next door.
wait wait wait...why TF would you need to have TWO portable vacuum cleaners in your car?? And why would they include a take-anywhere GARDEN HOSE with the car?? this world is very strange...
27:31 WTF?
He got his degree at WTF-ery University
LMAO!! Corvette, English or metric. Metric is English but yanks use imperial! Great content in your videos!!
Imperial units were invented in england and are still used there for cars although most other applications in the uk have since switched to metric
The stinger everything except for a roof
Lots of leisure time is right because no one has a job.
12:27 Perry Rhodan bist du es?
Damn, good thing smart phones exist. LOL
That’s way to much shit to have in one car, I could see all of those panels falling off within a year.
stolen in a day... that is an ice cooler door!!!
I have one hand-vac for my whole house -- but this car has two of them.
27:49???
2:49 haha among us funny
Before Robo Cop there was Future Cop.
