Went to the Roaster 3 from the Spyder 2. More stable and soaks up the turbulence much more. Lighter brake pull. Not flown the R2 but compared to the spyder the R3 is rock solid and just gives a more controlled feel.
I flew a Roadster 2 (24m) a while back and wasn't a huge fan. Mostly, I thought the brakes were mushy. I'm wondering if the Roadster 3 is much different. I flew the Niviuk Qubik 23m last week (similar style as the Roadster), and liked it much more.
@@BrandonHughes, yeah if it were my wing I would do that first thing to see if it helps. But, it shouldn't have to be that way. Also, you have to watch out for them tightening too much when you drop trims...which it may. As Kyle noticed, the trim range is huge (as it is on the Qubik).
Nice one Kyle. Great information once again. When the lines fell over you and you mentioned not taking a step it seems so simple and yet I probably would have stepped out of it and caused a line tangle which would have put a stop to my flying day right there! Also the clutch point you make has me thinking too. I am on the verge of pulling the trigger on a Kangook Phoenix with the Atom 80. Can I opt out of a clutch on that engine?
I don’t know man it makes sense to me. I’ve been wrapped in my lines on a few occasions whilst practicing forward launches whilst kiting and a spinning prop after shutdown is pucker sauce territory! I’m building my rig this week at the factory so will see what they say I guess. Thanks for the feedback bro always appreciated.
Very disappointed Kyle..I'm 50 hours in the air and the last 45 on a Spyder V1 not 3..then I missed 8 month of flying from surgery and found an awesome deal on a small Mojo and a 24m Roadster 3 both brand new I have always heard you should own a Mojo Pwr for the not so buttery days..But was looking for a better review on the Roadster 3 then this ..I found going back to an A wing was quite an eye opener so much I had missed by jumping on to a Spyder. I found myself having to work a bit to get the muscle memory back was a good thing and The Spyder had spoiled me found I had LPTS Lazy Paramotor Takeoff Syndrome ..I'm still playing around on my new Mojo and Itching to take the Roadster out of the box..Maybe another more in dept review ?
Thanks for the review on this wing. It and the Sypder 3 are two I am considering for myself. Hey also, I wanted to bring something else up and see what you thought... There's a relatively new unit on the market called the SkyTap Angel. It's essentially a new, more refined, better made version of the Flat Top, minus the flat top and all the BS from Dell. I saw you were friends with Andrew Fuller on facebook. He's the maker and the one selling the unit. Is there any chance you could review it someday? I trust your opinion, and I'm sure Andrew would be open to loaning you one for review. Anyway, I love the look of it and its added strength and safety. Plus, it's apparently only 4lbs heavier than the Maverick, so not too bad. Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts if at all possible.
I've tried both. They're very cumbersome on the ground. I like Andrew, but find all the "safety" of the Angel and the FT completely unnecessary features of a properly flown paramotor.
When you're at the red line on a Roadster 3 should you be exclusively using tip steering? If not, at what point in the trim settings is tip steering required?
The trimmers can be set to the red line for better inflation during take-off. Benefit of R3 is that you can still use normal brake with full trims out. Refer to the Ozone manual. However, when using speed bar then ONLY use tip steering.
Flying with trims at the red line is normal business, fly with brakes as usual. Using brakes with the trims out, turns are pretty.. eh.. spirited (ugly). Tip steering is better trimmed out
@@BrandonHughes Yes, I agree with you - tip steering is better trimmed out. I just answered the point of exclusively using tip steering and that is with speed bar.
R3 has a longer trim range, and it's a bit faster trimmed out. There may be some other differences too.. I think the brake mount sliding on the riser with trim adjustments is new for R3
I had both at the same time. Both 26m. The only difference that I could tell flying them back to back (both had no modification at all), was that the R3 has a little more trim range, and it has multiple white stitchings to give a reference to how for out the trims are. The neutral setting is in red stitch. I could not tell any difference in handling or flight. Definitely not worth selling one to get the other unless it's about colors or hours on the wing. More Sincerely, Ron.😎

Just flew a Roadster 3 last Sunday for the first time. Nice wing. ✌️
But, did you fly it in the thong? ...and did that affect your opinion of the wing?
@@mmcowan actually yes haha. That was the first flight with the thong, not sure I helped...but for sure it didn't NOT help 🤷♂️
Musta been mushy and boaty compared to your other 2 :)
Totally agree with you regarding having no clutch. I just recently got the Spyder3. Haven't flown it yet though.
I got that in a 28m. Love that wing.

Brakes come a bit long from the factory. Shorten them and I think you'll find the mush is gone

I think all ozone come with mushy brakes. I shortened mine and connected 2d and it completely changed the glider
@@mmcowan I shortened mine 2", and with trims all the way out I still have 1" or so before the brakes engage. R3
I normally appreciate and get a lot from your reviews, but I won't miss garbage LOL
And here I am out rocking the original Roadster, one day i'll have enough money... One day.
The original is a great glider from what I hear!
@@577buttfan Can't complain but i've got nothing to compare it against. I do wish it had magnets instead of poppers though.
Thanks for another great video Kyle! Keep it up. (TWSS)

I don't think it's available without one. Having a clutch is not that big of a deal, I may have over dramatized my feelings just a little bit, lol.

I've changed my stance on the mojo after some serious testing I've been doing on beginner wings. Video coming this winter.

Other than the sliding magnet toggles I think just some re trimming of the glider to make it a bit more stable.
