I've known about farmers who made it past two years and they still decide after decades that they're sick of it. I don't blame them and I don't hate them. I just get fed up with the judgmental rural homesteader, farmer, gardener, etc hypocrites who judge them for doing so because they left the city and want to live in the country and are close-minded to those native rural people who are just fed up with the unnecessary BS that doesn't work for them anymore.
For the simple reason that farming should come in as an additional income stream as one grows it to becoming the main source of income, which will take some time. The idea is to have several income streams rather than cut on one for the other before being sure it'll surpass the income one is getting from their job.
