I took this to Dayton and my friend who owns a bar on the Dixie strip they put on the record player that night Rayburn and i was there for the evening those hillbilleys played it all night great song should have been a number one hit in bluegrass for this band.
I heard this song for the first time today at work...I LOVE THIS SONG! SO great!!! I LOVE IT! I am new to the Mingo County, Louisa, Warfield and such area.....still...it's a beautiful place! So glad to work in such a beautiful place!!!!
I drove down to Kermit WV and took a picture but it want let me upload it. It's called sweeties teardrop inn now :) love this song and such a amazing true story. We need more music like this that tells a story instead of this crap they call country now a days.
From St.Albans, family all over WV. i always loved hearing the story when i was a kid and kept asking my dad if we were going to see Kermit the Frog. i was a 4-5 year old going to the construction site, oblivious to the real world. 🤣
My family is all from dingess and 12 pole. My uncle knows and used to play music with the man who wrote this song. I've seen the teardrop in kermit. Its still there.
Josh Martin sings this better than the original artist. He should promote this one more just to get his foot in the door in Nashville. I could listen to him sing all day...Young bright talented man from Floyd County Kentucky...
I love this song, I went to Kermit to pick a dog up and I just had to go on down to the tear drop inn It is for sure called sweeties. I have a picture but it want let me upload it Love this song
I know this place well, I’m from Martin county but all my family are from Kermit WV, the teardrop inn is still there to this day but many people don’t know that once upon a time that was called the grey eagle church of god, my great grandmother and all his kids and and grand children went to church there for many of years.
I have connections to this song, and so does someone else in my family. Not that they helped that woman kill tina, but my grandpa worked with that man that was killed in the song and my papaw told him that she'd hurt him if he didn't quit going to see tina. Ironically? That same woman worked beside me my senior year in our work program.
this song reminds me of my cousin Jason who committed suicide this past January he would always bring his guitar and sing that song to me it means a lot to me
I Called The Library In Kermit To See If They Had Anything On Record About This Song And The Story Behind. Does Anyone Know Where A Person Could Find This Out?
I'm from near Kermit, there used to be a Tear Drop Inn, and it was a pretty rough place ( it could be at times) I have no doubt this happened more than once.
@@AsphaltMan11 Rough place indeed. I was in the house band there for 2+ years, and there was a fight or two every night. People got shot, stabbed, and beat on regularly.
I would like to know what her real name was. I know a Mother and Daughter worked at the little bar as soon as you crossed the bridge from step town into Kermit and I would like to know if that's the same bar.
I really would love to know the whole story about this song. About the people and the history behind it and obviously we know part of what occurred. I just think it's such a great song with so much emotion and true love and true heartache. This isn't no Hollywood Nashville crap this is real heartfelt true to the soul. This song has me so intrigued.
+Shawn Burkett I see. Is there any way to find any of the history on it. I called the library in Kermit to ask them if they had any articles but they said they didn't but if I were to ever find out they would love to also know. And this kind of stuff really interests me. My dad's family comes from Jackson/Whick Breathitt Co Kentucky and Hazard, Perry Co and they have a eventful history also. Stuff like this really intrigues me. If there would ever be a way for u to ever set me in the right direction to look this up I would be so grateful. And it's a age old thing love driving someone to take a desperate measure but there's just something more about this one to me. Must be the way the song is sung, the melody, the banjo, etc...this is always gonna be a favorite song of mine. 💔🙏🍻🔫 Tina At The 💧Inn.
@@jusjukinallen8845 I used to play music at the Tear Drop Inn in Kermit, knew Bobby and Tina. It's a true story, more or less, except that as far as I know, Bobby's still alive. Haven't been over there in quite a while.
Is there a way to find out the story behind this song? It really intrigues me and I would love to know more about it. I would love to meet the person who wrote this song just to tell them how much I love this song.
+MyNameIsZeph My sympathy for the loss of your family member. And yes if you could ask your grandma that would be wonderful. I guess what gets me with this song it's not all long and drawd out. To the point and so powerful and beautifully tragic way. People that get don't get it won't understand that. Thank you.
Clean Extreme I am trying to find Mike Wells for an autographed picture of the Tear Drop Inn. A dear friend of mine has done some amazing volunteer work and I want to surprise him with this (he loves this song and story). Any leads you have would be appreciated.
I lived underneath the teardrop inn when I was a baby! My dad drank back then ! Mitch was his buddy though! Mitch was the owner of tear drop inn!
