I offered an idea to @Convie , a good friend of mine and a fucking phenomenal layout creator. A prequel to my layout "Never Let Me Go". At the time we had no idea what this would turn into exactly, but I told him that knew I wanted to tell a story. The story would be told by eliciting feelings through the atmosphere of the project. Calm, desolate at times, but full of life at others. Of course in this being the main catch of the level, I knew we really needed to deliver or else it was doomed to fail. But we didn't overthink it. In fact it was the only project over the course of this year that I can confidently say that I didn't overthink or worry about to some degree. Because this told a story that we and I'm sure many others have all lived through. So, over the course of the year we ended up just building when we felt like what this project was trying to portray. Trying so desperately to find yourself after losing something you thought you could never live without.
On another note, I really think there's something to be said about layouts, and what that entails. 'I don't wanna go' is not a layout in our eyes. This level as is was more than enough to send the message we wanted to send. To evoke the feeling and tell the story we wanted to share with you all. And I think that's all a project has to do to be considered a full level. With that being said, we don't expect this to be rated. Furthermore, I don't expect you all to view this as a full level if your views differ from my own. That's fine. Just enjoy it for what it is.
I've been playing this game for about 5 years now. Seeing some of the best creators of all time rise and fall, but more importantly seeing peers and people with phenomal potential fall short of what they really wanted to be. And as much as this is a game, I don't want to be the latter. Whether it be because of this project or something in my future, I want to leave a mark on this community. Not to take this all too seriously, but I've been lucky enough to get into this position where I finally feel like I can fully express myself through this medium and have people listen. I fucking love all of you that support me and help motivate me, even outside of the yt and gd scene. I wouldn't be the person I am today without you guys.
Brittank88, for consistently inspiring me to do new things. You are and always have been one of the most innovative and inspiring people I've ever met. Proud to call you one of my first real friends in this community. Continue doing great things man.
Geo... lia. Where to even begin. You inspire me and motivate me every single day to always be myself, and know that that's okay. Your support, advice, comfort, will never go underappreciated. And although we only met in beginning of this very year, you are my best friend in this community. I cannot stress this enough, thank you for everything.
Convie. The man the myth the legend himself. Without you this would never have happened. And fuck am I happy we actually pulled through. More importantly however, past the project and everything we've done here, you are also one hell of a friend man. I wish you nothing but the best in your future man, you seriously deserve it.
Scrumpy, Hadeon, Rockwizard, Rebix, Xender, Marwec, Miniwheat, Koolboom, Surge, and even more, you all are amazing.
And that's it. The biggest project I'll release this year. I hope you all enjoy this one...but trust me, I will top this some day.

When a layout gives you feels
I just wanted to stop by and let you know, easily my favorite effect layout. Easily. The atmosphere and effects are really good, and while there are very little of them used, they sure play their parts in the level. Such simple effects and colors can match the song so well, it’s actually insane. I’m such a big fan of the atmosphere you two pulled off. Amazing job, seriously, I’m so hyped to sit down and play this
No, thank you for being an inspiration to so many. I’m so proud of the position you were able to achieve in the GD community, in which you deserve because you are a fantastic creator and great friend. You know there are creators (including myself) who strive to be like you and show a new side of the mentality and thought process behind creating. I love how you can tell a story in a effect layout (should I even call this that? This is more of a full on masterpiece, pure art) So I want to thank you instead on behalf of me, and all the creators you inspire.
Commenting before the premiere: This has been my favourite upcoming layout for a while, and probably will be my favourite for a while. I’m super happy to see it finished :)

Ok I don't exaggerate what I'm about to say whatsoever but this has me really fucking close to tears. The atmosphere, how it complements the music, everything in this is just perfect. Just wow. You and convie have made an incredible job and idk if it's the recency bias but it's close to being one of my favorite projects of recent times
Ok yep, I can’t imagine a more perfect layout for me. This is the type of music I LOVE listening to, and the pulsing/effects in this are phenomenal. This will most likely be my favourite layout for the next year or so, but I cannot wait for more of your stuff in the future :D

The description means a-lot to me as I adore all of you guys sometimes I forget that you guys have the same problem as me. I'm Thankful for all you guys have teached me about layouts I still have a-lot to learn about creating as I want to be the best creator someday. But to be honest with this competition I think it will be a long long time. Great job Zero and Convie :D and hope to see more!

From an objective viewpoint this is hands down one of the best layouts I have ever seen. You two really outdid yourself here. GL with any other projects that you would like to lay your hands on, whether its gd or something else entirely I am sure that you will be successful.
