When Daniel Jones came in, the Giants started miss-using Barkley: they’d only give him the ball on 1st downs with the o-line set up as if it was a goal line play. They might as well have been telling the defenders “It’s a run play!”. It felt like Jones was uncomfortable allowing a more talented player (SB) take any shine. It was telling that in Eli Manning’s final game for NY, he played 4 snaps and every ball went to Barkley, like he was saying to the coach - ‘WTF are you doing? We’ve got the rookie of the year in the backfield and you’re using him for passblocking!’. Also happy to see Barkley go to a team that appreciates him.

The eye test said he was generational talent, the Giants would’ve just assumed they used him all up already with giving him most of the O workload.
They also thought keeping him around was more of a locker room and fan sentiment decision than something to do with Xs & Os. You look back and see this ship of a franchise was NOT given to steady hands and that they’ll be in the dark for a LONG stretch.

Just think he’s never rushed over 1300 in New York and in his first year in Philadelphia he goes for over 2000. It’s safe to say the Philadelphia truly unlock Saquon’s potential and talent. He’s finally in the correct system where he can thrive player is comfortable happy and wanted it’s pretty incredible on how well they play week in and week out
Giants fans: “even if we signed him it wouldn’t change our season” maybe you missed the part where your team doubled down on Dan Jones instead of moving on from him, making moves and trying for a Bo Nix, Caleb or Jaden Daniels.
