This was beautiful. Is there a reason you do vertical partings in the back instead of a horizontal brick lay? Is it just preference or how micros are done. When I went to cosmetology school almost 15 years ago the only thing they taught us about natural hair was how to do relaxers 😭 but I love learning about protective styles.

Why is so much product applied to the roots after the braids are completed? I get braids myself and all of that would just make my hair have an incredible amount of buildup and attract dirt.

It turned out really good. I love it, but I know that man didn’t have any edges or a back hairline after two weeks. As a braider myself, I like to make the parts around the hairline a little larger adding more of the natural hair to prevent extreme breakage and baldness. Also, I noticed that the ends weren’t knotted. So, I am wondering if the braids fell out after a week or after he washed his hair because perhaps they unraveled? Great job on aesthetics, nonetheless and the hard work!
