- Today i took a reasonably early ride over to the DEPG..(Diesel and Electric Preservation Group) Sheds at Williton Station on The West Somerset Railway. I went to film D1010 The Class 52 Western.....'Western Campaigner', With a newly fitted replacement MD655 Engine in the 'A' end of the Loco. In the first few clips you will see several shunting manoevers in the yard by at least two of the DEPG's Locomotives to re-position a goods Van. In the final two clips, first up is D1010 and D9526 on a L/E move from Williton-Bishops Lydeard taken near Leigh Woods Level Crossing. D9526 will operate the Sat/Sun DMU diagram on arrival at BL. Finally D832 and D6575 on a similar L/E Move to Bishops Lydeard taken near to Roebuck Gate Level Crossing some two Hours later. With grateful thanks to John Cronin of the DEPG for the timing of these moves. This video was made for my friend Kevin in Cornwall..(.Kevintregunna Channel ) as he's extremely keen on Westerns. Hope you enjoy this Diesel video. N.b You will see 5 of the 6 operational DEPG Locomotives in this upload !! Cheers...Steve.~

My All-Time favourite Class! Especially in BR Blue!
I loved it. Very nice. You were lucky to be able to climb around the yard like that. Good video. I could almost smell them.
Rob McCrain I used to work with them up to 2 Years ago Rob..But i am still allowed to film there....which is lucky. Yes you would have loved to smell the clag !! Thanks for the comment....Cheers...Steve.~
Wow! five different classes of diesel locomotives in one short video.Very well done Steve on capturing these scenes and not even a gala, very rare!.....Cheers Chris.
wooltman Yes it was a bit rare Chris...I don't normally ever visit Williton...But i heard they were test running D1010..so it had to be done !! I must admit it was a mini Diesel Fest !! Glad you liked it...Best wishes...S.~
Oh my God she is working. wow!!!!
some amazing sounds there Steve. the westerns are my favourite diesel loco so good to see her running again. still lots of work to do on her. amazing fotage of the warship aswell.
Cheers Tom.
D1015 rocks Thanks Tom...I only went there by chance to see what was happening...although at this time i don't belong to the DEPG. I was more than happy with the sounds Today. She has a lot of Bodywork issues that have to be sorted out, and then a re-paint i expect. Glad you liked the video...Cheers...S.~
Excellent shots Steve, a nice mix of heritage locos from a unique perspective. Thanks for uploading, cheers Steve.

most beautiful video .LIKED .
Surinder Grewal Thanks very much Surinder....Steve.~
Fantastic upload of WR Hydraulic power Steve, rare footage at Williton, but that clip of the Warship was outstanding....Keep them coming...Best wishes...Bob
Robert Masterman This made a pleasant change for me today....i did enjoy taking this footage. Especially when i went trackside. That 'Warship' clip was a last minute bonus, as i wasn't sure they'd turn up. Worth waiting for...Glad you liked it. Thank you for the kind comment.... Best regards....S.~
t was a good catch Steve to be there at that important time for our local WSR diesels! Well done!
ADMIRALSCORNER It had to be done Mike....Never enough footage of 'Westerns' these Days !! A good Morning...enjoyed it...Thanks for the comment...Steve..~
Really nice footage and awesome sound! Another great video by Steve! Cheers, Matt
+matthiashaenni Thanks very much Matt..sorry late in replying...missed the comment...S.~
Another collection of fantastic footages! Fun seeing the trains at the "Garage". Very much liked the IV 71 at 6:25! Nice work, Steve, enjoyed watching :-D
Traveller Thanks D. Williton Depot was quite busy as you can see. 1V71 is a working code on that Warship, similar to what you saw on the Western..all Rail movements have these codes...allover the UK....But not necessary on Preserved Lines like ours. Glad you liked the video...Best wishes...S.~
It was great! Thanks for the additional info, have a good weekend :-D
And you both !!
Thanks very much :-D
Superb shots Steve at Williton of the active there. Great seeing the "Western" starting up. Brilliant clips at Leigh Woods. Hope you are all fit and well. C&A
EMuksteam Thanks both, Glad you liked the video. I had to get the 'Western' starting up...a definite 'must do' ! I had to dash to Leigh Woods in the Car very quickly to get ahead of them..as they were shortly about to leave, 5 Minutes after i left !! Keeping OK at the Moment..Still only on 2 Days a week at work...Mustn't complain eh ! Hope you both are well too...Best wishes..S.~
Hi Steve, nice upload. Only a Peak and a Class 50 missing otherwise this video covers all the locos I used to see running along the sea wall at Dawlish on a summer Saturday in the 70's
Thanks Tim....To think i did this one nearly two Years ago..how time flies..!! Best wishes....Steve.-:)
Some great diesel sounds. Nice bit of clag, clearing out all the oil and gunk that's collected in the cylinders there.
Warship at the end looked pretty spectacular as well.
AndreiTupolev Thanks Andrei....Always guarantee plenty of clag from the DEPG ! I was quite pleased with the last clip of the Warship...Graham Perry opening Her up at just the right moment.
Good coverage Steve, really love the 'Westerns'
acw71000 Thanks so much Austin...made a pleasant change to see Her out again. Best wishes...S.~

Oh no..i got it at Taunton on the way down..I said to the Driver have a good trip too...Tangmere allover again then...That trip seems jinxed this Year so far ...
+Steve Lewis Video Channel. I some what have to agree with you haha about it being jinxed. I missed It in the morning and was going to catch it on return but as soon as I heard it was stuck at Newton I just gave up. ....... Matt
It's at Buckfastleigh now being fixed ...hopefully !!

Great to see some Diesel action. Thanks Steve.
Geoff May Your welcome Geoff....Thank you for the nice comment...S.~
Very nice Steve,Some lovely sounds from both engines especially from the D832 .The Western seemed to be blowing a lot of smoke out at one point, hope the replacement engine is okay...Cheers...Trevor.''
Trevor Ledgeway Thanks Trevor.....That Smoke surprised me a bit after D1010 went past...took a little while to clear...Hopefully all is well....Cheers...S.~
It was producing a little more smoke than usual as its a new build and hadn't been properly run until that moment plus one engine was smoking more because B end engine had been set to remain at idle so A end could be on power for more time rather than having both poweing together
Nice work, Steve, and worth getting up early for :)
balmesh Thanks Alan...I didn't want to miss this.! Cheers...S.~
awesome thanks for sharing
+pwalpar Glad you liked it...Cheers...S.~

Nice sound from the Western Steve , bit of smoke but a de Cole should cure that ?? Cough cough. 👍😀
***** Thanks Dave...That smoke after ti passed me at Leigh Woods was a bit of a surprise..twas a bit cough cough lol. Not sure what was causing it..i expect some fine tuning may sort it. Hope you had a good Weekend...S.~
oh wait a western and a warship on the same shoot nice catch
Glad You like it.
Turn UP the Volume..well worth it !!!
which was that clag campaigner or that switcher
What's that little boiler inside the shed at Williton? It looks like a narrow gauge loco.
AndreiTupolev It's being restored by Ryan Pope, He's just finished his apprenticeship..It is Narrow Gauge...just don't know any details.
One thing about You Tube ,,,,,,,, things continually pop up albeit a bit later than published that are "right on message" !!
Lol...
