@@alcv1583 Guidi is more on the level of BBS, Yohji and so on; and not even close to ccp. CCP's tornado boots still cost about twice the price of some guidi pl2 The only designer I would put close to CCP would be Deepti Barth with her vulcanised, silver-infused, glass-shards-plasterd clothes; but it's all too edgy for my taste anyway.
@@the_blank_8133 Definitely agree with you. But to be on BBS and guidi level consciousness, for me you would have be close to CCP level as well. Theyre quite similar in terms of aesthetic, but i get what you mean with the crazy designs of CCP ( Tornadoes, lazercuts, crushable shoes ). Tbh i liked CCP way before i started to like guidi, mainly because i have developed a weakness/taste for leather quality and the artisanal aesthetic. I was after the tank sole derbies for a while now, but unfortunately i was unable to find a pair in my size, then i saw the Guidi 788Zs and decided to go for it instead. I think I’m in this place where I’m a thrifter but I can’t go down the pits of hell because I can’t afford any of it but I’m here admiring the Japanese and dark designers
There are different levels to the inferno of vintage. If you're plugging it in before mall fashions, you don't know that much about fashion, you know labels and are still ultimately just level 1 hypebeast with a bigger wallet.
I feel like u can find garçons or yohji steals since they're relatively an old brand. There's a lot of fish in the sea. Or is it that I live in japan🤔🤔
This video was great haha, it's actually crazy how applicable the path was to me and others alike. It almost ended up being like a recap of your UA-cam history too! Very well executed and a refreshing video idea in general
This video is pretty relate able. I spend way too much time looking at clothes, adding things to my list of what to buy, getting bored and changing my wardrobe, etc etc. I'm too far in to go back and just stick to a solid wardrobe. Currently in the whole APC/Norse/Acne phase since I want to build my wardrobe for longevity and something that fits who I am. Hopefully I can break this cycle of revamping my entire wardrobe with a different theme.
Same, I’ve passed circle 2 a few years ago and took a step further few months ago to circle 3. I skipped all the steps and I’m at APC, Acne and Burberry now.. I’m also into Margiela and I think that I will be skipping all to Helmut Lang.. Anyway I’m also sitting on the internet watching those videos and instagram outfits.. its hard to get out there, because it’s so addicting trying new stuff and outfits
Sitting comfortably with my independent designers and the occasional big money, paycheck sucking soiree into the deeper circles. Why does discovering a brand before they make their way onto SSENSE bring me joy? I belong in hell.
First time i saw someone wear a full CCP fit was in grailed fits a while back. Cant imagine what he does for a living to be able to acquire an outfit like that
The primary reason this seems outdated to me is that the barrier of entry (at least in terms of exposure) is much lower now and it's so much easier to find out about avant garde brands via social media, sites like Grailed, and UA-camrs. In the end, none of the brands seem really all that out there.
Definitely agree as far as information goes! I think it'll always be a bit niche because you really have to be interested to take a deep dive down the rabbit hole. But as far as luxury and streetwear colliding and it becoming a larger part of everyday/man's life for sure. I think that a major shift I'm seeing is people wanting to be a part of younger designer's growth and help put them in the spotlight. That would be an interesting diagram to look at haha.
I suppose it depends on your perspective, for example ccp doesn't seem insanely obscure to me, even though it's at the deepest circle of hell here, but I don't know anyone in my family, that I grew up with, went to school with etc. That's even heard of raf, undercover, and most of the 8th circle lol
This video hits the nail on the head in so many ways. I think with the spread of information being more readily available, it takes the act of diving for that information less of a challenge, and thus opens up a much wider range of designers to people who had a lower exposure point before. Really great video
I feel like a lot of people get stuck in around the first few circles, like around armani exchange to diesel, but If you fall into the 8th circle there's no going back, you will be cursed to chase your grails across the Internet forevermore
@@GearedTowardGear I don't even know how far I'm in but it must be deep. Some people shit on Elektron for it's steep learning curve but there's nothing out there like it.
Well, it all started when I moved from Russia to Germany, there i was starting to pay attention at what I was wearing, but nothing serious, that was just some random shit from H&M or Zara. Later on i started to wear yeezys and some adidas/nike shoes with some simple shitty brands like Levi‘s or Boss/CK. It also came to the point where I was enjoying rick Owens and some classics like SLP shoes/skinny jeans. Since I’m not rich I cannot afford myself CCP outfits but I would like to wear them if I could. I also enjoy minimalistic style like the one Acne Studios makes. Strange enough, I was always hating Gucci/Balenciaga/LV‘s shiny stuff so I skipped that stage. Now I cooled myself down and try not to concentrate myself on brands overall maybe because I’m broke af maybe because I’m trying to find out what I really am and whether is it necessary to express myself through materialistic things or is it just an illusion of self-expression. I hope you could get me since English isn’t my mother tongue and is rather my weak spot.
10th circle of hell - Galaxy vans
rayy gun fuck i had that when i was seven
rayy gun 11th - Lightning McQueen Crocs
I think you mean our god Philipp Plein.

The moment you tell someone that your boots are made from kangaroo leather, there's no hope of return.
Tfw ppl like the smell of leather and ask to smell ur ccp and then just get grossed out bc it smells like fucking rotting fish
Most Soccer cleat are made of kangaroo leather

Every 6 months I come back to this to see how far I’ve progressed
I barely understood this video
same tbh
As soon as he said "diffusion lines" I realized I was in the wrong neighborhood.
its about not wearing those cliche brands if u want to be in the "fashion industry"
and how little by little he got drawn into the designer cloth stuff

Great vid as always and that 'paused video to twitter' skit was hilarious

Yeah what the hell was I on- thank you for the correction!
Also wanted to comment this haha. Sharp.
yeah he never studied in Antwerp, he didn't even study fashion

Walter Van Byfuevtfuwctdywcrycydtqcqcty of the Antwerp 6 mentored Raf Simons didn’t he? maybe thats where the confusion came from :/
you don't understand how excited I get when I see a new video from you
“Today’s video is sponsored by....... ME”

No wonder the guys at grailed wear Realtree camo, they have transcended the 9th circle
Wearing tshirts of bands you never heard a single note of that you get at H&M.
Can't relate

Holy moly the Appetite for Destruction SB’s were my first big sneaker purchase in middle school too. Fashion is damn nutty.
How did I miss this video?! Loved it, especially the scary-voiced "Virgil" around the 3.5 minute mark.

What pisses me off is that people who don’t even like Metallica would hype that shirt up if it was vintage. Blows my mind
what a gorgeous video concept
that new earl track really hits heavy
Love the Ear Sweatshirt instrumental you has in the background
my g aint this a little superficial
So superficial+irrelevant, I'm glad someone called it as it is. This is a hierarchy of social classes not fashion.

why is number nine lower than rick owens?
