    It's an annular booster. Not annual.

    Man i noticed a big change in my 79 k5 blazer 383 stroker before i had the 600 1406 i noticed it kind sluggish when barely hiting the gas seems like i had to push harder on the freeway to Cruz at 60 now with they avs 2 barely touched the throttle it goes on the freeway cruzes at 75 hardly any throttle what a difference i love it

    Back in the 60s autolite 4100 had Annular boosters in both the primary and secondarys

    I have one on my sbc350 it performs better to me than a Holley

    Now this is just my opinion...but i ran Eddys for years (before switching to Holleys) and yes...they are decent carbs but if you know how to tune a Holley they are much better carbs. Most people don't know how to tune them whereas the Eddys are much easier to tune and user friendly but you WILL get more power from a Holley when tuned correctly.

    If he was hesitant to pass with an AFB(3:34)... it was MASSIVELY out of adjustment, that's where a carter really shines when tuned properly. This isn't a review its simply a case of the carb in the box being tuned better than the carb on his car.

      Nick Kettle were getting about 14mpgs. I’ve been driving a lot and it’s great. 👍🏼

    The step up springs are for the vacuum secondaries. They are rated by the value of vacuum that they can overcome. If your car makes a lot of vacuum. You generally want to go with the spring that is rated at half the value of what you’re engine makes. Example, you make 14 inches of vacuum at idle. You want the spring rated at 7. Or the next spring down. If you go to soft. Your going to be introducing fuel from the secondaries to soon.

      The springs operate the primary metering rods. For the power and cruise mode.

    Just installed a new Edelbrock AVS2 Carburetor in my 1984 Monte Carlo SS and it’s now a reliable beast. The Rochester Quadrajet was a gassy bogged down spark plug fowler that i am so glad is gone now!

    • @Spiritof_76
      @Spiritof_76 8 місяців тому

      Your quadrajet just needed a proper kit and tune up. It was almost 40 years old. I knew a guy with a gbody Monte SS that smoked the tires with 3.73 gears, but that was back in 1988.

    Just purchased one today. After I installed it I got a very high pitch sound from underneath my hood to the point I had to immediately turn off my 75 chevy c10. Any suggestions what could be wrong?

      What liter engine? Searching for a good out of box carb for my 66 T-Bird wirh a 390. Had a 4100 stock but looking for a simple bolt on replacement. Any feedback to share?

    • @sethbarnes7608
      @sethbarnes7608 3 роки тому

      @@bayareakat66 mine has a 460. I installed a performer series manifold. But because your stock carburetor is a square bore, meaning that all 4 holes are the same size, and the new carburetor is a spread bore, meaning that the secondaries are a little bit bigger than the primaries, you might have to run an adapter plate. For a 390 I'd suggest a 650 cm. And you'll need. An adapter bracket for your transmission kickdown. The part number is ADL-1483. I also would strongly recommend that you install an in line fuel pressure regulator and set it to 5 to 5.5 psi. You'll be amazed at the throttle response, and you might even pick up some mpg.

    • @sethbarnes7608
      @sethbarnes7608 3 роки тому

      You'll want to get one with an electric choke, and supply it with switched 12 volt. You can run a wire from the IGN. terminal on your ignition relay.

    • @sethbarnes7608
      @sethbarnes7608 3 роки тому

      @@bayareakat66 with the Ford engine, you may not need the adapter plate, and most auto parts stores carry em, so just put the baseplate gasket supplied with the new carburetor over the stock manifold and see if the holes line up. I noticed that my performance manifold was designed for a square bore and the new cab fit like a glove

    With my original carb I was half throttle or more, with the Edelbrock, maybe a quarter throttle. I also noticed with the original, it sharply decelerated when id lift, but with the Edelbrock, she just cruises along!😁😁
