Dude, wtf? Strict pressing almost 300 pounds, no legs, no split jerk is nuts. I dont know the OSG rules, but if you can give even a little knee bend for leg drive on that, it would probably be 350.
@Jordanschannel64 I'm assuming 350 is quite a bit of an overestimation on my part, but I'd guess he can get at least 25 more pounds with some leg drive in his press. I also made this comment before I saw the part where he comments on how he didn't know why he strict pressed it. I can't wait to see John as OSG.
music in the links please. Your lower back looks tired on the bench spot, I imagine from the dead set. It looked to me in that set you are lower back dominant. Erectors of Steel! Keep pushing brother.
Well Done on the meet, Mutant. I actually rolled my eyes when you were going on and on about 275, knowing full well you'll be hitting 315, for reps, and then, you brought it up. 7 at 700, with an axel bar, HuhWHaung, 804 to depth.... Fuggin Mutants
Hmmm... Maybe I'll start using the axel bar for higher rep deadlifts. I'd like to stop relying on straps, but I can pull a lot more with them so it might let me keep building strength with the heavy lifts while improving my grip strength.
Asked last video, ill ask again, do you notice any long term effects on your mental health from the consistent PED use ? Btw julius and you together is goat content
It’s hard to say. If anything, I think it’s helped me to be a bit more confident. When I come off cycle, I sometimes experience a little depression, but it goes away after a few days
intermediate here, my question is it advantageous for his toes to come of the floor and stay in his heels. I have a fear of falling. Seems more posterior dominant. ?
It's a lot stiffer than even a stiff bar so at heavier weights it effects that and the centre of mass is further out from your midfoot since the bar is thicker.
someone else said it in another comment too but the bar is way stiffer than any other bar & the center of gravity is a bit different bc the bar is thicker which makes the lift quite a bit different than a standard deadlift. also in a strongman competition grip would never matter bc they allow straps on standard deadlifts anyway
Yea, that’s a pretty standard dose. If you’re a bigger person, closer to the 5g/day range will be better. If you’re under 150lbs, 3g would probably be sufficient
Fun fact: John would have 700 DOTS if he hit his best in all 3 lifts at the same time while weighing what he weighed at his previous competition
Fax 💯

felt the goats aura b4 he even uploaded the video
real shit
🔥
“Get back in the 600s and finally feel good about bench again.” John is not a human.
"felt down about the performance" literally set a bloody world record ( skull emoji )
It be like that sometimes
Yeah, but he knew he was primed for 2300 total with his DL, so knows he left some on the table. But dems the breaks
Andy still a beast with squats! Always good to see you back together.
Agree
I've been following Steve forever. I'm glad to see him still doing pretty well even with his kidney issues.
I see Indy City barbell, I click hoping to see a glimpse of Andy, John, and Steve in the same video together.
Hope you're recovering well Steve!
Hey John. Check out Hooper's technique for the log press, he uses the legs quite a bit. You should do a collab with him.
I’m hoping we can align something in November. I’m heading up his way for a photoshoot
@@MHB30 dayn, that would be amazing! could also maybe give some more light on both sports from your respective audiences aswell.
Yes John, yes!!! For all us functional strength fans, that found you through your phenomenal powerlifting, this is amazing. We will support you 💯
A few log lifts always brighten up the day 💪😊!
Always cool to see you do collabs. I know you've trained with Martins Licis before would be interesting to see you train with other strongmen.
I like how johns arms are probably his most dominant bodypart even though he puts like zero focus on them
Imagine walking to a gym and seeing 3 of the greatest lifters of all time randomly there ...
Super excited for the strongman event

Any type of press is pretty much always allowed. hopefully he can utilize it well.

Theres people who get over a hundred pounds out of leg drive lol
In strongman anything is allowed as long as the weight starts and ends in the same place
steve is a beast good to see you there 💪
lol imagine these 3 training together, every day is basically a meet
Hey John. Is conventional overhead press part of your routine or something you benefitted from previously?
I sometimes throw it in, but don’t notice too much of a carry over to bench. I think it’s important for beginners to do overhead work, though.

WHATS A TYPICAL FLOOR PRESS 2 BENCH PRESS RATIO????

I’m not really doing it consciously. My body just naturally does that. It’s hard to give an answer if it’s advantageous for an intermediate.
Track list?
Nice work John. Looking forward to seeing you compete in OSG.
Keep building the brand!
I’m actually watching this now because of the different intro music, the prior one haaaaad to go
I don’t understand the purpose of the axle bar deadlift if everyone just uses straps 🤨
It's a lot stiffer than even a stiff bar so at heavier weights it effects that and the centre of mass is further out from your midfoot since the bar is thicker.
@@owenmorgan9154 ahhh, that actually makes sense thx.
Standard axle is 1.9 inches
Sooo question
Why would John use straps when using the axel bar? Wouldn’t that defeat the point of making it hard on the grip??

@@matthewbrown3123 so really it’s just about centre of gravity?
Is 3-5g of creatine a day alright no matter what weight you are
Yea, that’s a pretty standard dose. If you’re a bigger person, closer to the 5g/day range will be better. If you’re under 150lbs, 3g would probably be sufficient
So Julius can bench your max plus you and the bench all added together ? 😂
i mean he literally is the world record bench press in all weight classes+.
It would have to be a pretty light bench. But yes, which is nuts
Yeah. Can’t comprehend! Anyways, thanks for the video and inspiring. Love the content 💪💪
Julius is also 500 lb man an only a one lift specialist which should be embarrassing.
Oooo new intro music
Yeah! Haack still amazing though !!
sucks to say man but Julius ain’t ever hitting that 800
I FINALLY HIT 286@147😎😎😎
Hell yea!
John’s Cracked 💀
Pound for Pound Strongest and Sexiest Powerlifter of all time 🥵🔥
125 and 130kg look better than 120
It felt way better too. I was able to find the bar path I needed on those sets.
You might want to practice tossing bags you may make it to 3rd day
I will be. I did my first day with them today and have them in the program twice per weeks

bogo deal on spinaes, lol.
So are we just gonna have to keep skipping the intro because of the shitty rap or???
Realy strong shoulders. 🪵
