I sometimes use my ETFs to buy dividend and growth stocks for diversification instead of reinvesting in the same place. To each their own methods though. The good thing is that you’re investing in the first place and that’s what’s important. Salute for the content!
The current market might create short-term opportunities to maximize profit, but in order to execute such strategy , you must be a skilled practitioner
Or better yet, have one.. For several years, I've been in touch with a coach, mostly because I lack the depth of understanding and mental toughness to deal with the ongoing market conditions. You lack the information necessary to succeed in a competitive market, not because you're doing anything wrong, but rather because of your lack of experience.
That does make a lot of sense, I'd love to sit back and have someone who has the Market figured out guide my decisions. Who is this consultant?
‘Sonya Lee MItchell’ is the CFA I use. Just research the name. You’d find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
A 3.2 percent increase doesn't do squat in California. I just paid $5.50 a gallon today at Costco. Up 50 cents a gallon in last two weeks. An extra $57 a month won't even buy a tank of gas.
I know, it's actually a pretty sad joke, and the joke's on the American people, citizens, not the illegals that get way more for free (and that's like putting salt in the wounds), and those in power continue to plot and scheme to steal more from us. We're just chattel to them...🤔😯✝️🇺🇸🙏
You are collecting a Federal welfare check. Stop complaining
Send your 3.2% back to Biden and tell him to shove it.

How many of you realize the VAST NUMBER OF WORKING HOMELESS PEOPLE IN THE USA ??? 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
The way it looks right now, Sept is going to be higher, if for no other reason, energy will continue to skyrocket.
Too bad energy and food don't get counted, it's all fake manipulation by the Federal government.
Thanks for the information. BTW, the median COLA increase from 1975 to 2022 is 2.95%. It looks like the increase will be in line with historical dat and perhaps slightly above median.
This increase doesn't quell the very high costs for food, gas, electricity and medical. We realistically need 20 per cent!!
BS government, inflation is still hitting us hard. Companies are making products smaller size and charging more. Our power and gas will continue to skyrocket as it did last winter. Gasoline is still way to hight. Thank you for the update, so depressing getting old and running out of savings.
I feel for you and you are right.
Hope it increases on the higher end. Thanks for the info!

Sir, you common sense projections are more accurate then most of the questions. Thank you.
Thank you for keeping us informed! I appreciate you.
Here’s the thing the Social Security number is grossly understated real inflation is not 2.7%, but more like 8%. The government does not want to measure correctly because it would bankrupt Social Security and other governmental programs. Just one of the ways that the game is played is when you go to the grocery store you buy 16 ounce can of something for one dollar but three months from now it’s 14 ounces but the price is $1.01 and the year later they come out with a new can and now it’s $1.40 but it’s the same product over and over the government in the manufacturers play the game and we lose.
Trump said at Rapid City, S Dakota rally last week that inflation was now up 8.7% so how are they deciding on 3.2?
Thanks for posting this update so quickly!
Thank you for cautious optimism in your reporting. Better to be prepared for what’s coming. My state is not included in stimulus checks. Hoping for the best outcome for all of us.
Our car ins went up over 50%.we pay yearly in the fall.
Our homeowners insurance went up $880.00 in 2023. Looks like since lumber increased, the City then increased the value of our home, then the insurance increased the value of our home and since lumber and everything else cost more, the insurance rate went up.
We recently had a hail storm and although we didn't have enough damage on our home and auto, many did in our town. Waiting to see what the price increase is going to be. Concerned that they will be canceling a lot of us.
I feel your pain.
My insurance went up $65 here in Fl
Little solace for the millions of SS recipients having to deal with this crap economy, crap Administration, crap Federal Government, and crap politicians in general!

My husband and I have taken a look at everything to see where we can lower pavements on things like phones, auto/homeowners insurance etc....cutting costs where we can.
Vote Republican and you'll won't have to do any cuts.
Not true republicans are crooks too
If COLA increased the way rent does, imagine how easier it will be.
That's not gonna help we need about 3 or 400 hundred a month, how about electric? How about gas? How about water? How about food?

Thank you Devin. It's a double-edged sword, but I like having an idea what's coming.

Your right it isn't very much at all. I only get 1290 a month from social security disability and I have to support 3 people on that. It's almost completely impossible. We don't always eat but I try to keep my family healthy. It's very very hard😊
I know this feeling… started go ing to pantries for food…

Thanks for the update.
Place your bets! Short and sweet video. I'm estimating on the low side, around 3%. Thanks, as always.
Congress should give themselves the same percentage in their next raise lol
How about we use the same formula for SS recipients as we use for welfare recipients?
SS is Federal welfare

Hi Devin
Thanks for all you do to keep us informed.
I’m delaying filing for SS benefits. When a CoL increase is applied, does it raise it for future benefits (those that have not filed) or do just the current participants get the increase?
For 62 years or older, yes, regardless of claiming status.
When you start receiving social security you have to declare it as income.
The longer you hold off, the more you receive per year.
It's all calculated to the specific total amount for your anticipated lifetime no matter when you start collecting.
You can figure out what your monthly check will be. Then you can look at the IRS tax schedule to see what tax bracket you'll be in.
If you have any maturity and responsibility and you don't need that money until later, you can save it and invest it in CDs, or whatever
instead of spending it.
You never know what the democrats are going to do with the tax rates and social security.
biden and the democrats don't care at all about the catastrophic rise in the cost of living. And the constantly lie to you about lowering your taxes and making the rich pay their fair share!
They are the rich!
SS Is not considered income if that’s your only income No tax
There is no such thing as what tax bracket you will be in They are individual not cumulative
The Republican tax plan from 2017 was permanent for the rich people and Corporations They forgot to mention yours are temporary and will soon expire in a few years
The Republicans are going to hold your SS benefits hostage by end of this month
So i just applied for ss to begin in November- I’ll be 63 is that cola of 8.7 from 2023 already baked in to what they say I’m getting?

When discussed individually, everything has gone up in price by double digits, so what are the factors that puts inflation at 3.2 percent?
Inflation is possibly 3.2% monthly, don’t understand how calculations are done.
My rent went my car insurance too
Medicare Premiums will be up 6%
Correct about $10 Average SS will increase around $55
Why are those particular months the ones that they go by?
Oil up and wages rising....inflation is far from subsiding
Although a descent increase will be nice but i would rather take zero and hav inflation at nxt to zero
Yes... Inflation is eating away at our retirement funds and the funds I hope to leave to my family.
I'll take that $57 on my social security check living in San Antonio Texas cost of living is still cheap here you could still live here with 2500 a month and your rent is only like seven or eight hundred a month
My Bet: .034 %
Last year: .087 .
$50.-$60 more , but Medicare will be $165.20 now - go to $176.00, increase $39./$49. Per month more.
Big Deal, inflation still exceeds this !!!!!!
Depends on how much a person makes there are programs with Medicare that will pay ALL of your premium for u it tells u in your Medicare book every yr I'm on qmb but there are 2 other programs call Medicare and ASK for which one u are approved for
Don't forget the merchants that smell more money in peoples hands and Jack up prices so you never see an increase. Check out the prices for grocery. You get robbed.
Government said the past 2 years the cost of living is $706 a month more.........Thats crazy ans we got no were nears a $706 raise the past 2 years..........We cant even afford food.........

$57.00 - Hmm, maybe I now can afford internet service.

What about inflation staring to go up again?
UNDER BLUE LEADERSHIP INFLATION HAS BEEN GOING UP DAILY SINCE : 1/20/2021 .... VOTE ONLY RED ...
Inflation is being driven by big oil companies and the Federal Banking system, which is NOT Federal. The interest rate went from 3.47% to 8.75% on the loan we took out to do repairs on our house. So instead of $147 in interest a mouth it is now $395 in interest. Only the bank is making money.
How much is Medicare go up ????? Last year we got a $70+- increase while food prices tripled !!!!!!
The economy isn't as rosey as the government tells you. Gas is up this year, rents are up, most grocery items are up double digits. A 3.2% cola will do absolutely NOTHING!!!!!! 👍🇺🇲

Does this also increase IRMAA earning thresholds?
If you have to worry about IRMAA SS is not a problem for you
Minus $10 for Medicare next year
Hello Devin, may I ask you a questions. I don't understand why they keep saying the social security is going to run out in less than 20 years. The reason I don't understand is because their are people who don't use all of their social security benefits they are entitled too. I have a sister that passed away last year just one month of turning 65 years old. She had worked at least 40 years and always contributed to social security. She only received two months of her benefits prior to passing away. What the heck happened to all of that money she contributed to social security?
It’s a pay as you go program. Current tax proceeds pay current benefits. It’s not a savings plan. That’s is why there is not a lot of surplus just sitting there waiting to be used.
One reason is the spousal benefit as a non working spouse can collect 1/2 of the working spouse even if they never paid a dime into social security. It’s simple math less people paying into the system vs more people drawing and living longer.
In addition to the comments below.....
There are several other ways that people who never paid into the system can draw money from the system. Survivors (spouse and children). If you were married 10+ years and divorced, you can draw 1/2 of their salary and if they are deceased, you can get their full FRA salary. I heard that Dean Martin (Actor) had 6 divorced wives and all of them were drawing his full social security.
AND.... I know for a fact that if you retire and have a young child, the parent gets more money paid to them. I think they got in the range of an additional $800 to $900 a month (I have 3 family members currently doing this).
I had heard when social security was created, these things were not allowed.
@@susieq9186 …. You are 100% correct

I am still confused. Wasn't July 3.2% and August 3.7%?
The figures you posted look to be the CPI-U.
COLA is figured off the CPI-W which is July 2.6% and August 3.4%.
Yes you are correct. If inflation continues , we're looking at 3.4% to 3.6% increase.
But the rate hikes on our medical insurance is astronomical!! This cola raise does NOT HELP AT ALL!! Needs to be $500 for any seniors that receive less than $600 a month and is disabled. (I got disabled AFTER MY RETIREMENT DATE)!!!! I get $416 a month and have to pay all my insurance premiums. But my deductible is $226. RX deductible is $505. My premiums are $237 a month. My copays for my meds are 75 a month.
part b will go up so it will be 1.6
I wonder what will be the SGA for next year I know this year is $1470 that you can't go over....
You're correct Denise it's true getting way more than I get a month
Hmm my rent going up 70 that isn’t squat . They take that plus some.
I'll receive 36 bucks which is an insult in view of my rent went up 300 bucks and the current cost of food etc., they can keep it if they are that poor or stingy at running the social security budget... can't do anything with 36 bucks
wgy dont they ave for the whole year? we dont have part time expenses
By only using the figures for the 3rd qtr, they can manipulate figures. Last year, in the 3rd Qtr, Biden released our oil reserves causing gas prices to go down. Once the 3rd Qtr was over, gas prices went back up and we didn't get the COLA to help pay for it.
Better than nothing!
Does food cost figure in. It's ridiculous. $80 worth of groc can be $200. Huge bonus at the top though.

A 3 percent increase is a joke when you consider what went up and how much it went up. I love the the government can play with the numbers to keep the budget down at the expense of those drawing any form of Social Security benefits and the poor. Food prices, housing cost, medical costs and most consumer goods all went up. To a person on Social Security who can't afford to travel, the consumer price of gas means little. 'They' are trying to blame higher costs on gas but that doesn't explain why prices rise proportionally higher then the increase in gas. The answer is simple, corporate greed. Okay, so if gas went up .6 percent in a month, how does that explain a 4.5 percent or more increase in the cost of groceries that same month. At that rate, the price of groceries increased a whopping 54 percent! Explain why gas sent the cost of health care up 5.4 percent? Now tell me this, do you know anyone whose paycheck increased proportionally with the actual inflation rate. The CPI's should be divided into two sections: One for monthly expenses common to all people like utilities, groceries, household goods, telecommunication services, housing costs and fuel. The second for expensive and luxury items, like motor vehicles, jewelry, fashion wardrobe items like designer anything and consumer electronics (excluding those necessary for telecommunication).
That's true it wouldn't help I will probably get this 27.00dollars it f
