A beautiful romantic ballet, . . . with all these four gorgeous white-clad sylphs and we imagine they're dancing in the Moonlight ❤❤❤! Sir Anton Dolin's choreography is quite nice & creative, indeed. I'll watch it again tonight, . . thanks much @ TheBunduBallerina for your lovely video edit ❤😊!
A beautiful classical ballet in its truest sense, delightfully performed. I wish these early ballets would be presented more often. I saw it at the Met. New York many years ago and also was priviledged to see a version peformed by the late Alicia Markova representing Marie Taglioni. It never fails to give me such pleasure; the early classical ballets are what ballet is all about (in my humble opinion). Many thanks for posting this.
Thank you very much for this exquisite video!!! So beautiful and I'd never seen Dolin's choreography! I just read that 1941 was the revision almost a 100 years after the original in 1845. Only 4 performances of that first one! Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were in the audience at the 4th and final performance. Wow! I was lucky enough to learn Lucille Grahn's variation. So lovely and fun to dance at 15! ❤
Questions 🙋🏻♀️: you named three ballerinas but there are four variations. Who did what? Lucille Grahn, Carlotta Grisi, Fanny Cerrito and Marie Taglioni? Did they dance with the English National Ballet (since Sir Anton Dolin gave the rights of his version to that company, which had a different name back then). I’d love to see the original version with the more delicate and deliberate arms and head. I’ve seen a version that was flawless with Ulyana Lopatikina and Diana Vishneva (I’m sorry I forgot the names of the other two ballerinas)… Gruzdeva-Sanina, Irina Kolpakova, Moiseeva and Udalenkova is a beautiful rendition of Perrot’s work performed in 1964. It’s also the full version with the beautiful castenetes! 3:11
Thanks for asking. Lucille Grahn's variation is danced by Evgenia Obraztsova. Carlotta Grisi is performed by Anastasia Nikitina. Fanny Cerrito's dance is by Elena Yevseyeva & Marie Taglioni is interpreted by Anastasia Kolegova.
It is like a dream to watch these gorgeous dancers!! Thank you for bringing beauty to our lives❤❤❤❤
You're so welcome 💖

Thank you for your very interesting comment! And you were lucky indeed to learn Grahn's variation.
¡¡¡¡BRAVOOOOOO!!!!
È il balletto che ha segnato il debutto di Carla Fracci nel 1957 ai parchi di Nervi
That was dreamy.
I'm moved, :')
Thanks for your lovely comment!
