A masterclass in boat design and build. Love it. I tinker with boat builds, CNC machines, and simple CAD work. Thanks for sharing your methods and techniques.
Really like the split screen formatting and the “show and tell” functionality. And totally agree with Glass Coat regarding the scarf technique. I’ve been intimidated by that and your way looks so much more solid and certain.
Thats good to hear! I also made a dedicated video on using that scarfing jig, and you can download a free drawing for it here if you like: danleeboatbuilding.co.uk/free-downloads/
😵Everything here is so well made. The lightning setup on you has clearly been thought trough the way the video has been edited is all just amazing! And to whats this is about - your craftman skills I only wish I could create something as beautiful as this with my hands. Really good job 👍
Great job Dan! Love your videos, ver informative and inspiring. I really enjoy watching someone showing their skills in woodworking. I like that you give every part you work on your full attention and don’t miss any details. Thank you sharing your videos and knowledge.
The stepped scarf! That's going to solve all my decking problems Dan. I've been trying to figure out how to get a clean, strong joint with book-matched ply as the typical scarf joint gave me a wavy edge that looked horrible.
Enjoyed watching your video Dan. Educational and informative although probably beyond the skill set of the average man. Its great to watch the fine attention to detail. Top quality workmanship !
God bless you always. you are formidable at what you do. I am a sailor, naval modeler and designer. I love what you do. Congratulations. Always continue with your projects. And produces a lot of videos. You inspire us.
@@DanLeeBoatbuilding Hi Dan. I have never seen that technique for laying out the basic scarf using a skill saw. Looks really simple though I am sure it is a dark art in practice. Would be interested to see more on that method if you ever get time as good scarf joints are the holy grail for us muggles :0)

Love the format. What I want to know about is your natty little block plane!?
:) It's a Veritas skewed block plane, lovely tool!
Hey Dan,,what do you you call that handsaw,I see these on several boatbuilding videos ie; looks like a long thin tenon saw ????
It's a Japanese saw, called a Ryoba. I can highly recommend getting one!
👍👍👍👍
😎👍🍻
Hi Dan. Can you tell me what type of Mahogany that you have used plus the veneer type on the bubble top?
Cheers
Paul
Hi Paul, the mahogany is Sapele and the bubble is Robbins Tiger Elite Marine Ply which has a thick, stripey Sapele veneer on one side.
@@DanLeeBoatbuilding Thanks Dan
