- In this video I count down my top 10 favourite LEGO Dimensions themes we never got to see!
This video is featuring themes and packs that were planned, cancelled or rumoured for the game so no LEGO Marvel or Star Wars as they were never even considered due to their Disney ownership.

The Flash pack was slated to appear in a singular wave (think like Year 2.5) to bridge the gap between Year 2 and 3. Also what was going to be in that wave was a Knuckles & Tails team pack, a Missy fun pack, and a Minecraft story pack. None of the Year 2.5 properties would have had new adventure worlds except for Minecraft. There was a Dorothy and Tin Man team pack planned too, and a Lord Vortech fun pack with an X-Po vehicle was slated. Originally, they were also going to make a Velma fun pack with the Mystery Plane, but it was scrapped.

Honestly they really dropped the ball. The game was still going strong but they started to over price everything. Personally I'm still looking for 2 packs to finish my set
One of my biggest disappointments with Dimensions ending is there wasn't a Lord Vortech minifigure and pack. I was surprised he wasn't a pre-order minifigure like in most LEGO video games - oh wait, there wasn't ANY pre-order perks. Having him would have tied together the game nicely. I thought after completing the campaign from the first year, the door would be open for a sequel video game with the Year 2-3 packs, similar to Disney Infinity. It makes sense as to why they put it all in one game, but to exclude the main villain as a character, never unveil his origins and mysteries and throw out the narrative is just disgraceful.
Maniac4Bricks I do think they planned on releasing Lord Vortech. I remember someone posting a bunch of audio recordings of Lord Vortech's character reactions they discovered through data-mining. But I think it got delayed from the end of Year 1 to the end of Year 2 and then just got cancelled when the game did. It's a real shame. And now that post credits scene leaves the story open in a really unsatisfying way. By the way, thanks for retweeting!
As much as I love Lego dimensions, I was really annoyed that I couldn’t go in all the adventure worlds! It’s really expensive to buy every single pack! So having a way to unlock all the worlds would have been great! Such a shame! Also I would have loved for a stranger things pack! Since they did other 80s films like back to the future, gremlins and ghost busters, I think it would have been great to see stranger things in dimensions! Think about how cool the adventure world would have been!
Since they added Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time to Lego Dimensions, I would've LOVED to see a Courage the Cowardly Dog Fun Pack that included Courage himself and Eustace's truck as a vehicle.
I wish we would see those themes in Lego Dimensions 2.

I wish we got SpongeBob and Mario sets in Lego Dimensions. I'm pretty sure Megablocks owned the SpongeBob licence and Knex owned the Super Mario license when Demensions came out, but now that Lego Mario is a thing, if there is ever a Lego Demensions 2, I think we might get Mario at least.
i agree, it would be really cool if we had Thunderbirds in it, like those of us that grew up with the franchise would finally get to fly the Thunderbird machines
I would like to see Godzilla, King Kong, Spongebob, TMNT, Willy Wonka, Power Rangers, Crash, Spyro, and How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Although with Godzilla and King Kong it be cool to have lego giants in the game.
Lego knights and James Bond were be awesome for Lego dimensions

I would've loved to see, in no particular order, Jaws, Ben 10, not the reboot, 1960s Batman, Spaceballs, Star Trek, Austin Powers, Alien, Lego Racers, Lego Island, Spongebob, Nicktoons, Bionical, Ed Edd n Eddy, and I think Looney Tunes could've had potential.
I would have loved to see Vortech! He was such a cool character and would have been brilliant if we could have played him in the game!

I actually feel like if lego dimensions was still going the matrix would be perfect for the game.
There would be 2 main packs. A Neo level pack with two vehicles.
And a team pack with morpheus and trinity.
I searched in the google store for lego dimensións and it gave me jenga.....

5: Indiana Jones- already existing as a theme and game, it would have been fun to play as Indiana Jones once again with other iconic characters like the ones from Back To The Future ( a childhood dream come true)
4: Pirates of the Caribbean- another pre-existing theme another adventure with Jack Sparrow in his weird and wonderful worlds and possibly a cheaper way of getting the Davy Jones Mini-figure oh well i can dream
3: Toy Story: another pre-existing theme it would have been fantastic to see the iconic characters in a game with some levels before Kingdom Hearts 3, shame but i suspect Disney wouldn't have it because money
2: Wallace and Gromit: AAH before it seems like it wasn't unique yes the animated british classic for one would have made my life to see these wonderful characters exist in LEGO form, with the little build being either the wrong trousers or the iconic Orange space ship from a Grand Day Out, this IP is renowned around the world for still british culture but im not sure kids would completely understand but LEGO isn't just for kids now is it.
1: Jurassic Park: but we already have JW, NOPE its not JP so im putting it on my list. we have Jurassic World but with the release of Jurassic World: the Video Game as well featuring the original movies and with Fallen Kingdom releasing a Jurassic Park set, it seemed like a missed opportunity to release figures like Ian Malcolm, John Hammond and Nedry, plus being able to get more figures that wasn't part of the set in physical form would be a god send for me
that was my list i couldn't think of any others aside from Marvel but WB probably made that impossible, Disney now owning SW as well, but we can only dream.
The Cynical Engineer I would love to see LEGO Wallace and Gromit. Been toying with the idea of making my own custom build for awhile...

5: Halloween 1978 : Yes , it's a horror movie but it could actually be just a Laurie Strode and Doctor Loomis team pack. A Michael Myers Lego minifg would be cool but Lego would obviously avoid that to not stir any controversy.
4 : Inspector Gadget 80s cartoon : This was something Lego might have planned but scrapped due to the 2015 reboot's negative reception. It would have been cool to get an Inspector Gadget level pack along with a Penny and Brain team pack.
3: It 2017 and Stranger Things : Yes , I know Lego wouldn't make anything involving IT but again with the Halloween team pack. It could just be the Losers Club. A Bill and Beverly team pack and an Eddie , Richie, and Mike story pack. For Stranger Things , we could get Eleven and Kali from Season 2 or Eleven and Mike based on Season 1. A Steve and Robin team pack would be dope as heck and a Dustin fun pack would be cool too. A Lucas and Max story pack could also be made along with a Will Byers level pack.
2: Gravity Falls : Since Disney Infinity didn't do anything with Gravity Falls at all. I think it was a HUGE missed opportunity to not make one based on the show. A Dipper and Mabel team pack with their builds being a golf cart and a giant Waddles. They could also make a team pack with Stan and Ford along with a story pack with Soos and Wendy Corduroy. Also why not a fun pack with Pacifica Northwest.
1: Spiderman Into the SpiderVerse : I am aware that Spiderman is in Disney Infinity . But some of the characters from the film are not in Disney Infinity. A team pack with Miles Morales and Peter B Parker or Spider Gwen would be great. A Spiderman Noir level pack with Spider Ham and a fun pack with Peni Parker with the mech suit as the build. But also a Prowler fun pack with a motorcycle side build.
My top 5
5: Spongebob Level pack. It would be amazing to see how they would have put Bikini Bottom in Dimensions! You could catch jellyfish with Patrick, Battle chum bucket zombies for the movie, and even have something like they did with Peter Venkman where you could switch between Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, and Sandy.
4: Scary Movie/ Freddy vs Jason team pack: It won't happen.

I want Toy Story , Courage the cowardly dog , Space Jam , Star Wars , Indiana Jones , Little Rascals , Inspector Gadget , Marvel Superheroes , The Mask , Mr Bean , Spongebob pack , and Include Puppycorn Dr Fox Hawkodile and Brick from the unikitty SHOW?
I imagine that the night at the museum theme would be a team pack with Larry and Teddy
Larrys abilities: drone (jedidiah and octavious) , illumination (flashlight), flight (mabye like E.T. calling in elliot he calls Amelia and she drives her plane around), disguise (Smithsonian guard outfit), and hacking
Teddys abilities: Vine slash (sword), Grapple (using like a lasso or something), switch activation (with his sword), gliding (something to do with sacajawea), and groundbreaking or super strength (calls in the cavemen)
The two items that come in the team pack are teddys horse amd rexy
There's a few I wish they could have put in like for example Labyrinth, Megamind, Big Trouble In Little China, Casper, Blade Runner, and Jumanji.

I agree with Bond, that could have been an awesome theme! Too bad they couldn't get Disney or the properties they've acquired like Marvel and Lucasfilm, I think an Indiana Jones them would have awesome!
Hailey Shannon Dukes of Hazzard would of been sweet. I thought of that one when I was playing Knight Rider in dimensions week or so ago. I also think Popeye would of been good but not sure who owns it. Or Looney tunes since it's Warner brothers.

It always was a shame dimensions was cancelled. However some of these themes would have been amazing in the game like thunderbirds although i think marvel and star wars should have been added particularly star wars as that's what made TT huge in the first place also Indiana Jones would have been cool

Tbh, I never cared for the licensed themes at all. I can confidently say if we got a lego dimensions 2, I’d love to see way more in-house themes like adventurerers and castle
What i find kind of funny about the Angry Birds theme is that the ONLY set i own from the theme is the King Pigs Castle set that i got for 50% off.
I need to go on Amazon and find this game and play again just for nostalgia

So are the themes mentioned here themes that would have been in Year 3?
I remember really wanting Zootopia in Lego Dimensions. It still would've been cool to get it in the game, maybe instead of Ghostbusters 2016 had Disney let it happen. We could've had Nick and Judy in a story pack, playing through the movie, or being a sequel of sorts. A team pack could've also worked. They could've also thrown in Finnick into a fun pack seeing as how Disney cares about him for whatever reason (he's got like, what, 6 minutes of screentime?). It would've been very cool to explore the world of Zootopia in an adventure world. It sucks that it never happened due to conflicts with Disney Infinity and Disney being stingy.

Remember that there's the two night at the museum sequels you can go of on to that and you can get a lot of Larry's abilities from the game based on the Second movie

include Jurassic Park ,King Kong 2005 ,IT 2017 ,The Universal Monsters ,Stranger Things ,Spongebob Squarepants ,The Loud House ,Gravity Falls ,The MCU ,Goosebumps , Jurassic World, Regular Show ,Pixar ,Disney ,Star vs the forces of evil ,Home Alone ,Men in Black ,JAWS ,Rampage 2018 ,Mythbusters ,Ready Player One , and Indiana Jones.

I really hope they make a Lego dimensions 2. I hope it wouldn't be super expensive so just a regular game. The biggest problem with the first was that it would cost like 400 bucks to get.

They totally missed an opportunity to have Tron: Legacy in the game. Imagine Gamer Kid riding the light cycle around the Portal or Sonic world! Imagine the battle arena as the Grid! Total chance missed! Hopefully it will be in the digital version, if they even make one.

BTW James Bond was planned for all 3 years, but it was considered too "dark" and was scrapped and replaced by Mission: Impossible. TT actually had plans for a standalone LEGO James Bond game about the Craig series, and they even made a full trailer and a level demo for WB, but they weren't interested, sadly.

It amuses me that LEGO has said they would never do sets for strictly adult franchises, yet they were dead set to go with James Bond.

If you were a fan of Roald Dahls' books...you should know 'the other one' was a better adaption (and that Dahl hated the original)...if not for Depp's Michael Jackson performance. That version would be SO much more playable in a Lego game.
I do like your idea of a Night at the Museum pack though. Perhaps it could borrow abilities from the video game of the second movie.
Roald Dahl "hated" the original because of the way he was treated by the filmmakers. He got a terrible deal for the rights to the book and was promised an important say in decision-making but was ignored almost completely when the time came. His main complaint was the casting of Gene Wilder because he wanted an older, British actor. Despite all this the original is an absolute classic and whilst "the other one" claimed to be a more faithful adaptation, it took way too many liberties and translated none of the charm from the original source material, coming across as creepy rather than quirky.
@@CutTheKragle All true, yes. And for those reasons exactly, who could blame him. As much as I love Gene Wilder (may he rest in peace) I wouldn't have has him either. But then again, neither would I have cast Johnny Depp unless he could do it properly.
As for the liberties... I'm not sure what you mean other than the change in ending and baby Willy. didn't care for the backstory either. Wonka's mysterious past is what gives him the mystique. I find the liberties the original took however, are far more irksome though. Killing off Charlie's father, the 'Slugworth' subplot, the Oompa Loompa songs (which were my favorite part of the books), the Golden Geese, the Wonkavator., Mike being obsessed with cowboys instead of gangaters...me personally, I was disappointed by the execution of a lot of it . I get it was a different time with different budgets and limited effects, but it still bothered me. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad movie. It's most definitely a classic for a reason. It has its own charm, but it's not from that of the book.
Plus if his own family could agree the latter film would be closer to what he was thinking (especially in terms of visuals) that has to be saying something. In my book at least.
