The BW sounded good , a spintech would have been interesting and a full tailpipe on either. everybody expects a foxbody to be loud but a quiet one with a turbo wouldn't draw attention. and would be great bait when you " Go Fishing "
I use Dynomax Ultra Flo mufflers on my LS. Straight through design. Nice sound, not too loud, but you can still hear them. I did want to try the Spintech 6000 though.
I run a pair of 3” Ultra Flos behind a big block Chevy in a g body. They’re reasonably quiet. The tone is a bit old school, somewhere between a glass pack and a chambered muffler. You can still hear the radio or have a conversation ( if you speak up just a bit). My engine builder dyno tested mufflers and found the Ultra Flo mufflers had no significant horsepower losses.
@@abolishwelfare Yup, I chose them also because I knew they wouldn't be restrictive or lose horsepower. Just got my car on a dyno a few days ago. Very happy.
Had to put the ear buds in for this one. Definitely the Black Widow. We all knew it wouldn't be the Dyno max by the way you kicked it across the floor lol. The stang sounds good bro
I think I would have to agree on this my cousin had a 88 mustang stock with just a little bit of work done to it not much but the flow master sounded very good it had a nice sounding rumble.
The dyno max does sound good, rumbles like it has got some power. But the black widow is my pick, because I like the sound of someone trying to hide what they got.
Ive got black widow venom 250s hooked upto a 355 sbc in my 86 el camino and i love them no drone while cruising around but scream when you give it some gas
Btw your transmission cross member is sill Up side down, the exhaust doesn't run between it and the body.... Your drive line angle I'm betting is fubar
I always enjoy these comparison videos. Between your audio and my phones audio I was surprisingly happy with the dynmax🤔 maybe I need a new phone cuz this can't be right. Spintechs or black widow is what I was going to go with on my 88 coupe.
Wish you could have done a walk around on the Dynomax Muffler when you did the walk around on the Black widow it had a good chop....Thanks for the video...🇺🇸💯
The dump...yeah, I liked that best. It's how I ran my 85 Kawi 750 turbo for over 15 years on the street and will again once turbo gets rebuilt (again).
I'm with the black widow sounds the best to me dynomax wasn't bad either I like both It was cool to hear all the different sounds thanks for the cool video.
Can’t help but notice you don’t have a blow off valve. From one blow through guy to another you’ll want to add one. Without it, while cruising the high speed air from the turbo will pressurize the bowls and fuel will dribble out of the booster causing a rich misfire. I fought that issue with my twin turbo setup and not having enough blow off valve.
I would like to see the effects the turbo vs naturally aspirated because though I've never had a turbo build I've heard they have a natural sound deadening effect.
Use the black widow into two classic mustang tips will sound great. But if your going to race it make that all come off and dum it out of the back of the fender.
Cool video, I typically thought that people wouldnt run a muffler after a turbo, I assumed the turbo would to plenty a job at muffling the sound, I guess not though, looks like Ill be holding onto my muffler. Though I was curious to ask since youve got a demon carb... How are your AFRs with out the secondary power valve ? Do you have to run rich at all on the secondary's to make up for not having them ?
@@cfmechanic congratulations on having a favorite just like have mine. There is no way to tell which has more hp unless put on a dyno so ones not better than the other, it's just your opinion. If you pay attention you would know this was a sound choice and that's why I like what I like. It sounds good to me. Stop telling people on here they are wrong for having an opinion and liking thing that are different than your preference. Have a nice day.
As long as you dont go with a magnagay you really cant go wrong. I personally like combining mufflers to get a more unique sound, but im probably just weird. right now i have a 2ft long bullet directly into a straight through borla
I also like combining mufflers. I have 2 glass pack mufflers, y pipe, to single inlet flowmaster on my 454. It sounds civilized but you can still tell it's a cammed big block.
@@c0c0asauce yeah. mines nice and quiet at idle/cruising speed but as soon as you get on it it has a real smooth rumble to it. longtubes into a 3" y pipe dumped right before the axle, apart from a small S bend to reroute it away from the crossmember it's all muffler, tight fit in a rcsb to have such a long muffler section and still be dumped. According to other people you can hear it a good ways down the road, but it's not loud in the cab. Never had a borla before this one and I'm genuinely blown away at how well it removes ALL rasp on the top end even with a straight through but I'm sure the big ass bullet helped with that as well; get all the flow of a straight pipe without the hillbilly crackling and popping that i despise. Ive been through alot of setups over the years and nothing comes close; completely worth the extra 30-40 bucks over something like a flowmaster.
You and engine masters both missed the old, cheap, straight thru cherry bomb glass pack. Proud you didn't put a "turbo-style" muffler behind a turbo tho. Reverses flow direction twice and adds back pressure killing the turbine's flow.
The Flowmaster 40 series was legendary on these motors in N/A form

I agree. The last one sounds the best!!! Love that car!! Love to see her run on the track!! Love the Chevy botie cap on the valve cover!!! Lol!

I am not a Ford fan, there I said it....but flowmasters on a mustang are iconic.
i'm a Ford fan and there's no better sounding muffler than flowmaster 40's on any Ford engine except the coyote.
I think I would have to agree on this my cousin had a 88 mustang stock with just a little bit of work done to it not much but the flow master sounded very good it had a nice sounding rumble.
I like the mellow sound myself 🤙🏻😎
Run a fender exit pipe with an electric cutout to full exhaust to the Blackwidow..
Ive ended up welding a couple alignment tabs on the inside of those flat style vbands
The dyno max does sound good, rumbles like it has got some power. But the black widow is my pick, because I like the sound of someone trying to hide what they got.
Pypes straight thru case muffler would be best all around imo, no power loss and muffled enough for sound.

Oh yeah, turbo cars are super quiet. Even on our twin turbo truck with the exhaust coming out each fender, you could daily that no problem
@@SniderTron3000 😂! Hey! I had a few beers!
What about a dnyomax race bullet ??

Dynomax for all round daily but it’s your car you have to drive it 😊
The black widow for sure.
For sound old ass mac flow paths, but they stopped making those
Flowmaster FlowFX! Like $50…. You’ll love it!
I will keep that in mind next time I buy one 🤙
The best sound on a street turbo car is a short dump pipe straight up out the hood! 😂
40 series Flowmaster
Did you build that blow through?
Oh shes rowdy boys....
My favorite muffler is the Cherry Bomb Extreme
Black widow is way better the cherry bomb extreme is a chambered muffler I have had all the paint burn off an extreme.
the glorified straight pipe. do you flood it with water before installing it, too?
