- 1. Rooster Precision (Dunlop Super Bright flatwounds 45-105)
2. Peavey Patriot (Encore Nickel roundwounds 40-100)
3. Epiphone Thunderbird Classic PRO IV (Dunlop Super Brights SS roundwounds 45-105)
Thunderbird sounds the best, hands down
I think the same 👍🏼
Also the best Tbird version... the one wih ebony board. Nice contrast with white color. Recently seen shootout of same basses with just different board, and i like the ebony one most.
Thunderbirds sound great with a pick! Wish you could play that one High part on all the basses too!
I would do it completely different today my friend. 👍🏼
The P-bass wins for tone and fitting in with this song. The T-bird sounded great in a different way, but the P-bass wins hands down, IMO.
I have to concur 💯 percent. The precision is what I learned (still learning constantly to it being an addiction). I couldn't afford a decent Fender P Bass but I found a great off brand p bass that I put hours into getting it sounding and feeling like a bass worth 15 times what mine is worth resale. That fat neck and as you say it fits in everything. The P Bass has been used on literally everything from Marvin Gaye (mo-town to Cannibal Corpse death metal)
The Thunderbid, just for the looks of it. If I wanted another sound, I'd tweak my amp. I do actually ;) But good vid, well done!
you can always upgrade the Pickups and pots, I played a 1960s Gibson Thunderbird through two Bass Marshall
stacks back in the day (with JBL speakers) the sound was awsome, one of my favorite setups for rock back
in the day. And yes thats a very nice looking bass.
Thank you for the video! P bass sounds just right for this song.
Agree 💪
the guy on the album was most likely playing a P-bass if memory serves me right.
Thunderbird rules!
I have same bass, Epiphone Thunderbird Classic IV, but with Vintage sunburst color.
this was cool I just wish they all used the same strings so it would be easier to tell the differences between the basses themselves. Nice video though
Thank you for listening man 💪🏻
They all sound good but the Precision Bass sits the best in mix IMHO. Granted I'm partial to be p basses it's what I learned on and continue play. A second choice would be jazz bass. Which I have modified 70s vintage J bass by Squire. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Anyway great shootout and song choice.
I agree 👍🏼
The longest wait ever from one bass to another but great demo nonetheless ...
😂💪👍
Thunderbird.
💪🏻
Over here with that thunderbird like nikki sixx
Nice.... I say the T bird wins
Beutiful and ultimate growly machine 💪🏻
thunderbird
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
dilema između p-bassa i thunderbirda s aktivnom elektronikom :/ na kraju ću morat oba haha
Uvijek P bass 💪🏻
The thunderbird sounded ever so slightly out of tune
blooddimond472 You’re right, in the upper register, octaves were out of tune 👍
@@ninodjuras they were out of tune down low as well. It was just out of tune.
I though the same E string
The peavey bass action is not adjusted so it's choking out on certain notes. No problem with tone.
💪🏻👍
Can you do a video on how to create different bass tones with a stock peavey Patriot?
Go to my profile, I did everything there ;)
T bird wins.
💪🏻👌🏻
A P bass played with a pick is hard to beat for rock music.
I agree, all time favorite 👌🏻
What song is it?
The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary 💪🏻
Man. Does your arm not get tired?! All that movement should be just in the fingers, even with a pick. Your shoulder is playing those eighth notes! My arm would fall off doing all that unnecessary work.
Well, it's a matter of technique i think, i've seen many metal guitarists downpick like that
That’s not so hard once you’ve gotten used to it, which isn’t hard to begin with
I don't know what that first bass is, but it aint a "Precision". unless by precision you mean it was made by a company called precision.
