i have 3 of them and my only issue is, if you use smaller lenes like APSC, these take up alot of space on the lens when trying to pack it. part of me wishes they made a 72mm size maglock filter that would fit most APSC lenses while taking up less space in a bag. its not that big of a deal but it is kind of annoying.
After thinking about it, that would be super inconvenient. You have a good point though, it would probably be a bit weird to have such a big filter on a lens that is much smaller. Yeah, that’s something they should at least be willing to entertain.
This polar pro system is trash 😂 lol. I explain why 1. Freewell done this already and the glass is much better quality. 2. Takes more time 😂 with all the polar pro pieces. The system flawed. You think u save much time but realized you just got conned 😂😂Total gimmick. 3. Moment cinebloom is universally agreed as the best defusion filters besides tiffen pro mist/prism fx dream filter. In 6th place, are these poor quality polar pro mist. There's been comparison videos to prove this. 5. Even the blue and gold anamorphic style filters has already been made by moment / prism lens fx and it had proven to have shown a more natural beautiful result. The polar pro version lacks sharpness and often would not even show what is advertised.
How does it compare ( including with wider angles lenses and photography) to the new Freewell k2 vnd, the Nisi vnd true colors and the kase Wolverine revolution vnd ? ( those seem to be the very top vnd, mostly magnetic filter, except the nisis) in terms of optical quality, colorimetry etc
I would argue it’s mainly preference. All the filters mentioned have great colors on camera. I couldn’t say that about my PolarPro edition 2 filters. I’d love to do a comparison video with the Freewell K2 filter and the Helix filters. I don’t want to speak to the others because I’ve never used them. I do believe the Helix Maglock system is a bit more simple as far as setting up, doesn’t mean it’s better but that’s just my perspective. I’m sure someone we’ll have a comparison video since Freewell is more or less the competition to PolarPro’s VND filters.
Did you also have a hard time with adjusting the vnd from each stops? Mine was so tight at time, it was spinning the base plate out of the lens. The vnd 2 haptic feedback was pretty smooth but this new ones or at least mine was very tight.
Yes! Mine did the same. I couldn’t adjust the filter stops because it was super tight and was either forcing it to unlock or unscrew from the base plate. I contacted polar pro support. They asked me to send a video of the issue which I did (the video I used was the same in my video). They sent me a new one and it works perfectly.
I use Kase filter and it's perfect. But this looks not bad, the brand I never heard.

@@poppincam hmm. They have done amazing for me. You sound like you've been hurt by them.

What camera and lens do you use with the Polarpro
I have a Sony FX3 and use the Sony 20mm G or Viltrox 16mm.
