A fantastic reaction 🦄! I see 👁👁 that you have reacted to EW&F before: Let's Groove, Reasons, September, After The Love Has Gone and Boogie Wonderland. Fantasy was released as the second single from Earth Wind & Fire's 1977 album: All 'N All. It was written by Maurice White, Verdine White and Eddie Del Barrio. It was produced by Maurice White. The song reached #12 on the R&B chart and #32 on the Hot 100. The song is a showcase for Phillip Bailey, who could handle the very high vocal range. The day Phillip Bailey recorded his vocals, he got elbowed in the mouth playing basketball, so he did it that night with a loose tooth and busted lip.
Earth, Wind & Fire made a smooth transition into the Disco era, adapting their R&B sound to the new groove. The group's single: "Fantasy", fit right in at Studio 54, but also had a deeper meaning, which was typical of Maurice White's productions: he would put a message on top of an infectious beat. The song took three months to compose, and was only finally finished after Maurice White saw and was inspired by the 1977 film: Close Encounters Of The Third Kind.
Talking about the message in this song, Maurice White told Melody Maker: "The song 'Fantasy' is motivated about escapism in the sense of living on a world that is untrue, a world that is unjust, a world that is very selfish and envious, there is a place that everyone can escape to which is their own fantasy. I had to write the song in the sense of sharing this place with people. It's an escape mechanism".
After its release in Japan as a digital single to cellphones in 2009, it was certified Gold for 100,000 downloads in May 2011.
The song has been featured in some movies including 📽: Godmothered (2020), Be Cool (2005), The 6th Man (1997), Private Lessons (1981) and more.
The song has been featured in some television shows-television movies including 📺: Ballers (2015), Bob's Burgers (2012), Everybody Hates Chris (2005) and more.
The also song appears in the 2006 video game 🎮: Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories.
    Critical Reception 🗣:
Blues and Soul declared that "Play it loud and it'll fill any dance floor".
Joe McEwen of Rolling Stone wrote "The lyrics of “Fantasy” (“Come to see, victory, in the land called fantasy”) may be hard to swallow, but the music is as close to elegance as any funk song has come. Voices and a light touch of strings suddenly appear over a choppy, propulsive track, swell and swoop, only to disappear at the snap of a finger and pop up moments later for an exciting, powerful finale. White also utilizes an odd instrumental mix that gives equal emphasis to percussion (except the bass drum, which is usually played down), bass, rhythm guitars and stabbing, staccato horn bursts. The result is light but substantial, and it’s become a model for many other bands".
Barry Cain of Record Mirror placed Fantasy as one of his four Records of the Week saying "Decontaminated warp factor three faar out felony with a smack of glossy metallic reverence, EW&F transcend the oft restricted peaks of disco into the realms of elaborate, effortless slices of electromania fused into chocolate box acceptance. They sure soar these boys, soaring on the soprano solitude of Maurice White, Mastermind, Mother and Despot".
Record World said that "the horn arrangement and soaring vocals are the chief hook".
    Lyrics 🗒:
Every man has a place, in his heart there's a space
And the world can't erase his fantasies
Take a ride in the sky, on our ship, Fantasii
All your dreams will come true, right away
    And we will live together
    Until the twelfth of never
    Our voices will ring forever
    As one
Every thought is a dream, rushing by in a stream
Bringing life to the kingdom of doing
Take a ride in the sky, on our ship, Fantasii
All your dreams will come true, miles away
    Our voices will ring together
    Until the twelfth of never
We all will live, love forever
    As one
    Come to see, victory
    In a land called, "Fantasy"
Loving life, for you and me
To behold, to your soul is ecstasy
You will find (you will find) other kind (other kind)
That has been in search of you
Many lives has brought you to
Recognize (recognize) it's your life now in review (ooh)
And as you stay for the play
Fantasy has in store for you
Glowing light will see you through
    It's your day, shining day
All your dreams come true (ahh-ohh)
    Come to see victory
    In a land called, "Fantasy"
Loving life for you and me
To behold, to your soul is ecstasy (ahh-ahh)
You will find (ooh) other kind
That has been in search of you
Many lives has brought you to
Recognize, it's your life now in review (ahh-ohh)
    Ohh, ohh, oh, ohh

This is phillip he was the other lead singer with that high voice, but Maurice white was mostly the lead, this not even his best sounding vocal performance he was a little off but still sounded good
