I'm a Texan who has lived in Victoria, Australia for 11+ years. I miss family, friends, and some food, but I'd never move back to the US. The healthcare is better here, There's more help if something happens. My meds here won't leave me bankrupt like over there. My son gets his therapies paid for (He's autistic) and he gets support workers and other things. It's a beautiful country. If you haven't seen The Man From Snowy River, watch it. I've been to where they filmed the movie. Such a good movie too.
The words,Man From Snowy River gives me goose bumps.
I know Clancy from the Overflow.
Old man now.
I'm originally from Scotland.
I live in Maroochydore, where people come for their Holidays.
🙃🏴🇦🇺
great suggestion on the movie, an essential Ozzie movie, 1 of the most iconic movies made about Australian folklore
My parents were post-war migrants to Aus. I was born here. Your words made me tear up 👍🏽
I love our Texan friends. Everyone I've met from there has been good to meet. I'm really glad to hear you're loving life here. I'm a Queenslander born and bred . But Victoria is ok. 😅 yeah I can definitely understand what you're saying about the meds and medical care side of things. America is insane with their costings.
Happy to have you. I just wish we valued our Aboriginal people more
If you have small kids move NOW.Best for you but above all BEST FOR YOUR KIDS ! We speak English,NO GUNS,the climate is generally great & NO GUNS.......safety is the norm,.....
More languages are spoken in Australian than almost anywhere else, but most English-native-speaking Australians only speak English.
Next week I'm taking a week to explore my local tropical island. Australia is the greatest country in the world.
I live in Australia and the only local island I've got to explore is a traffic island.
It won't take a week to explore that I can assure you.
I live in Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 and I’m so proud to live in this beautiful country and proud to be an Aussie. U must come and visit u won’t regret it ❤
I agree
Australia is the Love of my life & always will be❤👍🌻
In the almost 80 years since the end of WW2, only one country has had a net immigration surplus with the USA, and that's Australia. So clearly there's something about it that Americans like.
Also everybody is friendly here and nothing violent like getting mugged every single day like in America duh hahahah
@@Jeffro5564 I was from a small town in Texas so not too much crime, but I do understand what you're saying. It's sad about how many people are hurt or unalived in the US. It's hard to make gun control laws because illegal guns will come in through Mexico. It's not as doable as here. Although, I do wish they'd make it a bit harder to obtain one over there legally.
Awesome vid mate . We have a saying in Australia, you will never never know if you never never go
I remember the Ad as saying "You will never never know if you never never go".
You guys need to visit Australia and enjoy yourself here. Just take that next step and say “ let’s do it”. You never know, if you never go
I think the saying was.
You never never know if you never ever go.
@@mainstarservices3129 i think that was for the NT specifically.. still never been haha.
So many Americans seem to be scared to go anywhere out of their country and they need to know everything before they do. A lot of whinging about the distance too. What do they think we do?!
I had some German friends visit me here in Sydney. What was my funny take out was that they couldn’t cope with how friendly Australians can be. The Germans found it confronting and uncomfortable
Wow! I love it. Everyone who visits me from the US loves how friendly people are here.
I have found that they think you are trying to have a lend of them or they will have a big bill later. We do things for free to be nice and then just walk away.
Ive never been swimming that early before work and especially not for someone's birthday😅
Perth has the best friendliest people in the country and I’ve lived over east
I doubt old mate in that video had even been to Perth yet
Nope all lies . Perth is a shit hole . no one likes it. we are not friendly at all and it full.
That is toradgi Beach. It's near Wollongong. Wollongong is a beautiful place. Mountains with rainforests on one side. City in the middle. Beach on other side. 1.5 hours south of Sydney. Beauty and convenience.
I’ve travelled 54 countries and Australia is the best.
Don’t underestimate its size and diverse beauty.
It’s now my home.
Start a go fund me and I’m sure we can all chip in and get you a holiday to Australia. Spare room at my house when needed.
It is still best but there is a rental crisis like other western countries, apart from that it’s the best in the world
Neal, don't come to Australia, because once you experience the life that we have here, you will never ever want to leave, and your family and friends will be devastated. btw Neal, you will definitely be noticed by us. You have done an amazing job of selling us to the world
What colour is your tongue?
Save this towards your airfare
Gotta start somewhere 👍
here is 10 small tips to any US citizen that wants to come to Australia.
1. leave your attitude along with your guns at the departure lounge.
2. don't panic! it will be there waiting for you when you get back, we don't want it.
3. you cannot buy, nor carry a gun over here as easily as you can in the US, this is not the wild west as it is in the USA.
4. enjoy the sites the food and the different cultures.
5. Australia has a culture, they have song, dance and food and we are proud of it.
6. The US has, Levi's jeans, McDonalds, mass shootings, guns and bombs and you are proud of it?
7. take lots of photo's, buy the occasional souvenir.
8. when you get back to the US "the home of the brave and the free," pick up your gun and your attitude, you will notice it is still there in tact as you left it.
9. Show your friends the photo's and tell them you had a nice time.
10. Oh and don't forget to tell your friends you experienced real freedom for the first time in your life not having to carry a gun!
Great reply

that dude spitting life lessons
Oh yeah I have a mate from Ghana. He has been working here for a few years and he is the happiest bloke I ever met. He goes home for holidAYS AND BRINGS BACK THE BEST CHOCOLATE EVER. Top bloke I hope he becomes an Australian soon or he can keep doing what he does. He works hard and is studying. Top bloke.
Yes almond croissant , they surprised me , didn't think I would like them but they're at least an 8/10
We’re waiting for you start planning and saving. A lot of us would love to have you stay
Born and bred in Melbourne and it's a great place to live.
Definitely.....I'm from Perth, moved to Melbs here in 2011 and I already know for a fact I'll be burried here!!!
I am also a born and bred Melbournian and it a great place to
I’ve lived in both Sydney and Melbourne. Both are great cities, forget the comparison, enjoy them both.
Say it brother! Truth speak!
A HUGE tip for travelling. Find an interest that is universal. Church, tennis, golf, art, whatever. Use it to find people with a similar interest where you are going and you immediately have instant friends, the best guides to the local area and surprisingly often somewhere nice to stay. I will make contact with Men's Sheds in Britain for when we are there later this year. My wife contacts churches where we will be on Sundays. There's always a warm welcome.
"If I can't go straight I'm not driving."
Well, so long as you can go straight well. It's not how many moves you know, it's how well you execute those moves.
I'll take someone who goes straight like a pro, over someone who's only 80% at everything.
I'll say it before you get here. And I'll say it again if I ever see you here in person. I love your upbeat attitude in all your videos. You seem super laid back and you would absolutely fit into the Aussie lifestyle
Hey Neal, this guy is totally correct, you would absolutely fit here so easily, 4 👍👍👍👍 up.
His partner seems the opposite
Let us know your flight date and time and you'll be met at the airport !! A big bonus for American's coming to Australia is the exchange rate. Anyway you both will love it and won't regret it at all 💯👍
You WILL come to Australia SOON! Stop wimping out and start making plans! If you do a Barista training Course or Traffic Control training course - You will get work wherever you go!
It looks like he's living in Wollongong, which is a city about an hour drive south of Sydney, no wonder he's loving it so much, best place in Australia
5:35 One of the blokes I worked with always said his daughter was a real traffic stopper.
I was very lucky to be born in Perth, Australia.
For so many reasons we are safer than most of the planet when it comes to illness, conflict etc.
Our health care system and educational system are entirely accessible and you can get what you need health wise and schooling wise with it being practically free. And people are laid back and friendly. We have good working hours with all sorts of allowances like sick pay, holidays, parental leave and long service leave…all paid. Things here, people can generally get a fair go…people are paid a living wage, there are supports from the government and private agencies to make sure people can get basic needs covered.
Homelessness is an issue, but nothing like I have seen anywhere else in the world.
Welfare payments have only been less of a good fit with rental costs having skyrocketed, but prior to this change what the government would pay the unemployed or students or the disabled or the aged was enough to cover rent and basic needs. Now unfortunately it wouldn’t be possible without house sharing as the cheapest rental would be at least $450 AUD a week when welfare payments only start at approximately $1000 a fortnight.
The environment, the attitude of people (we aren’t particularly classist and people don’t care about going to the shops in track suit pants and slippers - no one gives a crap.
And there’s something about Aussie humour and the way people joke with each other…it’s delightful.
Appreciate all you guys do 👍
As an Australian this guy speaks the truth he fell in love with Oz as everyone does, I live in a block of units in a tropical paradise its so great Hollywood has filmed many films here, Pirates of the Caribbean, Aquaman the list goes on. Don't be put off by wildlife its very rare you'll run into anything nasty. There are so many European people I know in my area that came for a holiday and stayed because its like he said it feels like a holiday that never ends.
I swear, you two are just like me and my missus. Love this channel
He has some great points 😂
You are both very welcome here ❤
The road works lollipop people make a SHIT load of money.
I never got the lollypop people until I realised that STOP and SLOW are actually signals meant for the roadworkers!
@@banta-pd8zjHad a mate you worked for a mob here in Perth, he said he slept in the car more than actually worked.
A Union job & paid as they should.
@@gozza7199Oh I agree, danger money should be paid, considering the fuck heads on the road.
enjoy mate from grant in townsville ,best for your future.
Australian Queenslander here. Love my country 🇦🇺
Been here 20 years never seen a snake, until I had one in the lounge, now i'm paranoid.
16:45 Feeling lonely buy a boat. You need a crew and everyone loves eating fish. Talking about fishing fills the rest of the bonding experience.
If you came to Broome in Western Australia... I would recognise you!!
Great video. But this guy hasn't been to Perth, that is the best most laid back place to be. So many poms here. !!!
Hey!.......I'm from Sydney.
My ancestors came out on convict ships and never went back. I've never gone back.
I live in Sydney but the great majority of the population don’t live that close to,the coast and beaches, rather live 40+ kms west in the great outer suburbs. To go the beach can be an all day return trek. That’s why I have a pool 😎
Come to Sydney, would love to meet you both.
Would be so cool to bump into you in Sydney :)))) one day... 😊
$600 weekly average rent if you can get a rental, like most country's too many immigrants not enough houses.
you must be 100% indigenous
Guys, Just come to Australia. 🇦🇺 we await
7:01 I think you have to back in like on a mine site so if anything goes wrong you can just drive out. Makes sense for an emergency.
The parking rules actually mean you cannot legally drive on the WRONG side of a two-way street even for the short distance to park the car.
It is impossible to park that way without breaking the basic traffic rule of driving in the standard direction- in Australia it’s on the left, not the right.
ahahaha. you two have me in stitches~! Come to Oz~!
Na gotta go to Adelaide Sydney and Melbourne is only popular because the the big city's we got the country towns and nice scenery like barossa and hills
7:45 I have a cheap old ute and insurance I can go anywhere. Demolition derby.
14:04 Vegemite and cheese is addictive.
18:56 He has found the Australian F dictionary. My Father taught it to me every day.
I live in Surfers Paradise I'm at the beach nearly everyday.
the oxygen mask analogy was the best thing in this video!
Still do it before the kid is too old. Stand to be corrected but under a certain age you don't have to pay.
I’m originally a Melbourne girl from the outer eastern suburbs at the foot of the Dandenongs, but have lived in Castlemaine, central Victoria since 1989. This is a stunningly beautiful gold mining town, full of so much charm and gorgeous old houses and buildings. I will die in this place, it is my soul home. And I thank whoever allowed me to be born in this amazing country. I have always known how lucky we are here to have the life that we do, safe, free and friendly people. I’ve travelled overseas and am always so happy to come home to our country. There’s no place like this on the planet!
4:02 My mate's missus she was from Brisbane and they moved to Rockhampton. She was saying to me that now she is 1/2 an hour from the beach that she will go more often. I said I am about 200m away from the beach and wake up there most weekends. The different thoughts the way people live.
You can def come to Australia with a child! You will all love it 😃
15:45 Queensland for the win!!!!!! Can't argue with that.
its great living here, unfortunately, here's the bad news, finding some where to live close to the beach as stated is near impossible unless you are a millionaire, there are houses cheap to buy, if you want to live the other side of the "great divide, the other side of the black stump, coming for visit not a problem, try to stay, thats when reality kicks in.
yes - vehicles park in the direction of travel - because there is no way to park your vehicle in any other way without driving in the wrong direction in a lane or otherwise performing some illegal or dangerous manoeuvre.
Alot of the Traffic control people are usually tourists who apply for a work visa . They get the qualifications from overseas and then work here . There is a surprising number of Irish women who are employed as Traffic control .
I have a friend who does that work and she makes $67 + P/H. Not bad money
Brazilian girls are now also common. There must be a company that funnels those nationalities.
You'll never never know if you never never go, we do have it good here & the weather just helps to make it even better.
The Pome makes alot of sense 🦘🦘🦘.
‘’You’ll get here and never wanna leave” Same thing happened to my husband! He moved here to Australia for a 2 wk holiday from New Zealand and never left. A lot of Kiwis do this and move to Aus! He’s been here since 2004 😂 We met at the end of 2004 and that sealed the deal! I showed him around and he loved the wildlife as he’s a hunter and loves nature. Just recently took my in laws to K’gari (Fraser Island), my childhood camping and adventure spot! And they were beyond thrilled and want to do it again, and now that their grandkids are a little older (teens) they want to buy a house here so they can spend half of summer-winter here. If any of you are thinking of heading this way, you are closer to the places like Bali, and the rest of the pacific islands as well as New Zealand. As James Smith said here in video, this is just a typical sunny day here in Oz 🇦🇺
If you really want to come on down to Australia check out Kind of Australian its an Americian lady that has married a aussie guy and living down here including the visa battles .She has had a few.
11:34 You can't leave this Earth first I am still waiting for my x-Wing fighter ;) You will love it here I do I can't think of any place better..... I can but I won't give up my fishing spots.
Visiting here and living here are very different things. If you come over get a visa for the longest time possible cos it will take you a long time to see more than a couple of places. But in my experience the best thing to do is ignore the videos, positive and negative, because they'll both be exaggerated. Research where you want to go and what you want to do based on what your likes and interests are then throw it all up in the air and as he said JUST DO IT. Just dive in. If you love it great. Australias a pretty easy introduction for a 1st time traveller. If you dont cope with strange new places and experiences well you can just go home again but at least you wont die wondering. And it wont be waste of your time or money either way.
Get ya butts here😘😘😘😘
Australia is a great place. I am Australian and Australia is still a great place. ❤
Thirroul beach !!!!
I'm not calling the man a liar, but he's a recent immigrant with a very limited view of things. Australia is awesome, but a lot of what he says is complete bollocks. I'm glad the beach lifestyle solved his cocaine habit ofc.
11:05 “it just takes one load to go up a bird and you’ve got kids…” 🙈
One thing Australia has is plenty of jobs you can always get work, life is better away from the citys on the east coast north of Sydney it gets better the further north you go
If you want to make friends in Australia there's only one thing you need to do is say gday thats it. Cities are cities like everywhere, things are always better outside cities.
What's doing Neal and team I'm Australian eating fishing drinking smoking weed then repeat Love from Australia 🇦🇺 brother
43 years still like a holiday don't fill I need to go anywhere else specialy living in WA sunniest City in the world.
Those lollipop people are on $130k plus per year
Bring the kids Australia loves kids, lots to do for them and a lot safer.
Slap the sunscreen on put a hat on and let the kids run free at the beach, (swim between the flags) and play grounds while you drink the best coffee in the world 🌍 Adelaide and Perth are the friendliest people in Australia.

i love how people say they love Aus, and yet they only see the cities...
This pom is exaggerating with the cost of living expenses.....not so cheap.
In Australia we have NO GUNS and minimal whinging poms.
Of course we have guns it's just that not every Tom Dick and Harry can own one.. unless they qualify for one.
The whinging poms are all i Tassie, gorgetown and Hobart mainly , can't even prune a tree without them whinging about destroying it

You don’t have to earn that much, your income tax, and you forget you pay 10% GST . And if you throw in all the hidden taxes like excise of fuel and booze and commodities you need to buy. And still have State taxes and levies, It’s more like 60%.
Have you booked your tickets yet? Have you found out how much they'd cost yet? Do the math a bit.😁
