- DARKTIDE: The Miniatures Game (or The Board game) is a new "whilst stocks last/FOMO" board game from Games Workshop.
@officialwarhammer used minis from their existing collection to a point where the aesthetic didnt match the vibe of Darktide or the charcters they were representingt. So I tried to do a better job.

Totally agree, big missed opportunity. Hopefully my little fix helps! :)
My guess is if they did than this would habe been brought by scalpers who salvaged the minis and throw away the rest and the target audience would not get their hands on minis.
Slap chop was really the wrong technique for those minis, blip blop would have worked much better.

The fact they had the audacity to put that ogryn in with the rest of them astounds me.
What else would they put in.
@@catcadev a newly designed one? They designed a new Typhus for the space marine boardgame and a whole host of new minis unique to black fortress but they can't be bothered to make one new Ogryn?
Even a few upgrade bits in the sprue like an extra shoulder pad and a new head would’ve gone a long way
we need more pve 40k games.

The veteran mini has a hot shot lasgun, a weapon that is (sadly) not in the video game...
They could have used a regular guard with a lasrifle and it would have done the job better

My friend group and i did a co-op KT campaign vs an Ai Ork invasion!
Your fix deffo goves a better darktide vibe than gw. Just wish they'd have atleast given some options to change stuff about abit such as heads etc especially
It would’ve been super easy to include a mini upgrade pack or some unique parts on that new sprue. Shame really.

Pulling minis from the line to repurpose them in other games is something that I’m all for if it means we see more of these small box
solo/Co-op games….not everyone wants the main 40k/AOS experience, I play many light rules/mini agnostic games pulling in my huge collection of GW minis to get the most use from them in a variety of interesting ways. If GW made more stand alone lighter rule sets in addition to their main ones for more casual players I think they would sell more miniatures as their vast line is already there to be plucked from giving them duel purpose, I regard Killteam as a bit of a hybrid in this respect. ….thoughts from an aging hobbyist. 😊
The value doesn't compare well with the Kill Team Starter Set, which to be fair is the best value box set Games Workshop produces, but a nice painting project with solo playing 👍
Superb video. Really nice glow up for the box art painting which I agree GW missed a chance to do a better effort here.
Some brilliant painting tips on this vid too. The streaking grime part works so well.

LOL - kill team is more complicated than big 40k, but yeah call it entry level, since you need fewer minis...
The Psyker pops especially well, these all look ace! Would you do a video doing the same kinda thing for the bad guys too?
Definitely tempted if this video does okay. I probably would skip the poxwalkers as I’ve painted 900000 of them for my Death Guard army, but definitely the moebian troopers 🫣

Bit disappointed to hear it is a minimal effort job with just models and rules Frankensteined from other games. Cash grab city
I like the look of the game and the missions sound fun, just feels like a quite one drop and done vibe so I’m concerned whether theee will be support if this is the initial launch
Not to mention it’s £85 even though it has about the same amount of stuff as the other “introductory” board games they’ve made and muuuch less than Blackstone Fortress or Cursed City

Well its cheaper, bords are smaller and the rules are a bit less convoluted i think?
I'd have bought it if it wasn't $110, no reason for it to be twice as much as space marine with no original sculpts and three less figures
